Tucker Carlson??  Tucker ******* Carlson?!!!! That guy might be the biggest asshat that has ever lived.  Nothing he spouts can be considered ‘information’.

it was confirmed today by the Jets that Hellebuyck has requested a trade, lighting a fire under Chevy and confirming why Skinner was signed by the Jets. It does put Chevy at a bit of a disadvantage and means that Hellebuyck will likely not be at training camp- not so far away now.

I see it the other way but this is probably why i’m not a NHL GM. Chevy is in the drivers seat. Play Skinner et al till a suitable deal is presented to our GM even if the L’s accumulate quickly early in the season. Helle signed a contract with the Winnipeg Jets under no duress. He is obligated to fulfill the terms of that contract. If he is not willing to do that then he can stay at home till the contract runs its course or until the Jets can find a suitable tailor that fulfills our needs. If we trade him away under duress and don’t get fair value back that will be a big kick in the balls.

Here’s how i would respond.

Thanks, sorry to hear this. A resolution coming soon will totally be dependent on getting fair market value back from another suitor. On our end we will do our very best to accommodate but can’t give a definite timeline as what other teams do and offer is out of our control at the end of the day. In the interim help us be successful, see you at the rink and let’s get the season going.

Not sure if that is a Bell or Roger’s response.

Remember Laine? He played 1 game then was traded. Does Helle play one game or none? I’m gonna say none. He’s prob traded in a week or less now. And like Laine, the return will be surprising. I’m gonna guess it’s New Jersey and not Buffalo tho. New Jersey been my dark horse all along.

Mercer RHD prospect Seamus Casey and a 1st. Maybe a goalie but honestly, Smid is the only guy I’d want. If not him I’d just call up Dom from the moose. Dude put on a show in the playoffs

he barely played a full period

What I want to know is if the Jets received a fair trade offer, and if it was rejected by Helle because of the NMC and he didn't want to go there

No. They apparently haven’t received much of any offers. Turns out teams have goalies they like already. Helle had 2 good weeks on a super team last year and about 20 bad ones with the Jets. I’m not sure if teams necessarily see him as an upgrade or if they do, they won’t give up what Chevy wants and Chevy won’t trade guys until he gets what he wants.

Franchise goalie ...we better get something substantial for him...I can see an American club going after Helle as it seems the destination for USA players lately and would fit Connor's wants...Have to be a Cup contender also....Message to Chevy.....hold out until the return is substantial..this club demands it or better

Chevy will. Ask Evander and PLD about that.

Chevy is such a shitty GM. Thanks, Mark. #jobforlife

He’s consistently ranked quite high by his peers. What trade has he lost exactly? No move and no trade clauses are a thing Winnipeg has to deal with more than anyone else. These are facts. A new gm changes nothing. Players still would refuse to waive to come. Nothing changes. Our small market team won the presidents trophy 2 seasons ago. That right there shows he isn’t a shitty gm cuz Chevy is doing his job wearing every handcuff available. A Canadian team hasn’t won a cup since the original jets left. This Jets team is a consistent playoff regular, not tons of success there but again no Canadian team has won this millennium.

Hellebuyck is a clown for going public. It just makes him look bad. The reality is the guy wants to win, that’s what his trade request is all about. He thinks he deserves a Stanley cup. He wants a cup. There’s no guarantee he gets it tho. If he’s traded to Buffalo and shits the bed cuz that style they play don’t match what he truly needs to be elite, is he gonna demand another trade? Dude needs a team who plays almost a trap style of D. That’s when we were our best. Unfortunately when wr lost to Vegas Helle was outplayed by MAF. And hasn’t been great in the playoffs since.

My feelings on this one

He is now a Jets commodity to exchange for value, that's it, he's dead to me as a player. felt it building for a while even after signing that last contract, not surprising at all

US/Canada relations and tensions have to be part of the equation. Hockey is unique in major sports in the amount of Canadian teams, Canadian markets and amount (%) of Canadian players.

All Nations and the Olympics ramped up that competition and adversity

There's some stuff that separates Helle from someone like KFC or other American players. KFC never went to the White House, never partied in Miami gone for days, but came back to his team. He wasn't used as a pawn with the whole "Medal of Freedom" BS I don't think Helle's ever even gotten. I don't think Helle ever had a feeling for the pulse of that and a lot of the fan base that supported the team. Couldn't or wouldn't "read the room"

The NMC has to be addressed in order for hockey to remain viable. It's gonna turn into MLB, and that's killing US markets, where only certain teams have any hope in reality

Only way to say it is dudes head is starting to match his ear size. Thats all I’ll say. It’s been catching up for a while now but truly after winning the gold and wooping it up at the White (only) House, you could see the transformation was nearing completion.

Most the American olympians minus Mathew’s have been dealt out of Canada now. It’s a trend.

Stuart Skinner standing on his head along with a team loaded with upfront talent struggling at the goaltender position early in the season would be fantastic please and thank you.

Chevy's been here 15 years. Just like Osh & Walters a change is desperately needed. For both the Bombers & Jets.

I'm not following you - who in this scenario is the team loaded with upfront talent?

KConn also was benched for most of the Olympics so he didn't really feel a part of that team anyway.

I think the implication is that we would get some upfront talent in return for Hellebuyck.

you know what sucks right now? I turned my calendar for September and he's on it (I like having Jets calendars but sometimes it kind of sucks to look at a month where the player isn't on the team anymore) without intending any puns it kind of dates the calendar

we have the same calendar. Looks like Luke Schenn is our player for October.

Wow I had heard that Ray Ferraro was kind of a ****** but this confirms it...I guess...
