July 3, 20187 yr NBA franchises with a few exceptions are generally are valued nearly twice as much as NHL franchises. Not including the Rangers, Flyers, Blackhawks & Maple Leafs. But their salary structures for 12 players is crazy.

LA Clippers sold for 2 Billion Dollars in 2014 imagine what the Lakers, and Knicks, are worth.

No doubt...but to keep paying sports figures and owners this kind of money...there has to be a crash somewhere. How much more than the average fan do these owners and players need to make? The end of cable TV will have the largest impact on how we consume live sports. I don't think it's going to cause a crash, rather, the sports leagues will be successful (or not) based on how they market, package and deliver their product. They will need to deliver the product directly to the fans, removing the networks. It should be interesting.
