That was just shitty hockey.  I really hope this idiotic playing outdoors fad is almost over.

Canada's going to be a really interesting team to watch this year. No real superstar to carry the load, so they might just rally together as a true "team" and do it by committee...

An okay win overall yesterday. Canada took way too many bad penalties, though. That lack of discipline can't become a habit, especially against stronger opponents.

fwiw, Finland is supposed to be one of the best teams in the tourney this year, along with Sweden and the US...

really?  I hadn't heard that.  I think the US is the team to beat.  And we won't do it with this team.

I honestly don't know **** about CHL hockey, as most of us don't, but I heard one of the talking heads on TSN say that, anyhow...

US is ok... They beat a bad Denmark team tho so it proves nothing... Id say Canada Finland The US and Sweden are all equals this tournament. Truly in short tourneys it comes down to goaltending... That US goalie is legit tho.

US looks really good but I have a hard time saying Canada can't beat them.  Canada has a pretty good team.  I think they made a couple bizarre choices on who to keep and who not to keep but still a very strong team.

well the Finns do have Vesalainen so that's a huge advantage for sure.  :)

Watching him out there he did remind me of Armia.  Big kid!

Almost like armia 2.0

he skated around a lot without getting a point, and yet was named player of the game.  That's quite an accomplishment!  Very Armia-like for sure! :)

You think you can suck me back in but little do you know I have ascended to a higher plane of consciousness and these petty squabbles no longer concern me

very mellow and meditative.   almost soothing..

Solid win over Slovakia last night. A little dicey when Bean went down and missed some time, especially with Clague already out. But it was good he returned to action last night.

Blue line needs to be healthy for tomorrow's outdoor tilt.

They're saying the outdoor game might be moved inside if it doesn't warm up a bit.

I'm excited to see how Canada matches up with the US.

That's a damn shame. A pox on this disgusting cold snap!

how dare it get cold in December! :D

Coldest Christmas in 21 years. I don't mind December cold, but -29 for a high is nasty (that's about twice as cold as the seasonal norm).

Team Canada up 2-0 on two PPGs in the opening frame!

I expect them to continue to roll. Anything can happen obviously and there's lots of game left but....

The US would be exhausted from chasing the game yesterday, quick turnaround and then cold weather, grueling game against the Canadians.

I bet USA Hockey  wishes they had scheduled this differently.

US - Sweden first round playoff game?

Where’s the delete button?

Did the cold affect our team more than the US? Two goal collapse in the third period followed by a dreadful shootout.  That. Was. Bad.

it shouldn't because both Canada and the US are used to the cold, it's clear that Mother Nature doesn't like hockey
