No changes for the Bombers...

Who'd a thunk? Bombers are ahead of Eskis in sacks 2.9-2.7 per game

6/7 cfl writers have chosen Edmonton over Winnipeg. Only Don Landry has picked the Bombers. I'd be ok with that if he also wouldn't be the only one to pick the Argos in their match.

So I'm working outside this morning when Wade Miller cruises by. I, decked out in Bomber gear, cheer and wave like the shameless fan boy I am. He stops and asks me if I have tix. I say I wish. An hour

  • That's awesome!! I'll share my "great work Bombers" story, too.  So, I wanted to take my mom to today's game, we don't make it to as many as I'd like together but try for at least 1 a year.  She'

  • Got to give credit to Nichols on those too many men calls snapped ball the moment time was called in. The Esks guys were gassed could barely run off the field. Have not seen a team get physically beat

I wonder if Harris had the option to keep the ball on that play.

it didn't seem that way as it was very bang bang from the snap to lateral but imo the involvement of Harris in that sequence prevented him from picking up the blitzing Eskimo defender that got to adams pretty much as soon as he got the ball from Harris

Harris probably coulda sold the run a lot more on it too

Except the intent of the play is not to put Nichols in a one on one jump ball situation. Nichols can have as much position as he wants, he's not a receiver.

The intent of the play is that the D loses track of Nichols and he's wide open in the end zone. The fact that the half picked up on it means the play was pretty much dead in the water, unless you suddenly think Adams and Nichols switched bodies and Nichols is a red zone threat and Adams can put touch on the ball like a QB.

We need to study some 1960's film:

Kenny Ploen  laterals left (an apparent sweep) to Leo Lewis who then throws it the opposite direction, right, to a wide open abandoned Kenny Ploen .... and how many times did we see the same type of play in its many  variations such as Ploen to Lewis to Ploen to Lewis

Time to get Kenny out of his rocker and down to a closed practice

It worked last year. It didnt this year. 1960s is a long time ago. D's have improved lots since then.

With all respect to your intent, we'll just have to settle for studying film. Mr. Ploen has earned his retirement well, and paid for his efforts dearly. I'd like him to enjoy entering gate two at IGF as a valued alumni and feeling honoured.
