Because Bell paid a lot of money for MTS and is spending a lot of money re-branding to BellMTS. MTS didnt buy the naming rights out of the goodness of their hearts - its advertising.
May 30, 20178 yr MTS originally purchased the naming rights in 2003, calling the arena the MTS Centre. It was a 10-year deal at the time but the deal had been extended to 2021 with the option to extend to 2030. So it's Bell until 2021 then who knows. Edited May 30, 20178 yr by FrostyWinnipeg

May 30, 20178 yr Corporate names are always going to be lame, MTS Centre vs Bell MTS Place makes little difference to me. Still better than Jobing.com arena or Gaylord Entertainment Centre.
