I distinctly remember sitting in a Perkins in St James across from my best female friend who I was crazy about and who kept waffling on whether she felt the same, the Jets had just left and said to he

We won last game...you go with that goalie. Actually the idea was Branson of the North with Pantages, Walker, Met and even that one dive on Main Street(since bulldozed) being used as venues.

Healthy line up, timely goals, solid goaltending = 2pts its really that easy :P

I don't know what Torts is doing but......good god, why are the BJ's suddenly the best team in the east? they were the very first team that we beat in the preseason

They have a very good D and very good young players and their vets are playing well above their expectations really.

Plus Bobrovsky is 1 of the bestgoalie in the nhl.

Columbus is what the Jets will be soon... maybe next year even.

Another game with no forwards over the 20 minute mark...Petan, Dano and Staf all got less than 10 minutes.

PK looks better with Armia and Matthias on it.

This team really missed Armia...

Copp and Tanev to the Moose

Trying to hide Copp from Vegas again :)

Not going to hide him and we would be lucky if they picked Copp.

Probably better than the pressbox.

He's turning Lowry into that checking center they want him to be.........

If they play like that all the time they will win more often than not.

Now Armia just needs to learn to score or his linemates do, somebody on that line needs to start scoring, they were the only line last night who didn't but probably had the most chances to score.  They need a goal scorer on that line and quite honestly, there isn't one. Matthias averages 7 to 10 goals a year, Armia hasn't score more than 4 or 5 in his career, Lowry? Be lucky if he gets a few more.

I like Matthias but I think they can move him off that line for someone a bit better as a scorer. Armia gets chances and will score. Lowry will from time to time. But Matthias is a black hole. Petan between Lowry and Armia would be better. perreault too

Perreault Lowry Armia might work

Petan Little Wheeler would be a nice line

Laine Scheif Ehlers

4th line could be...

Matthias Copp Dano..

Don't need stafford thorburn or Burmi on the ice anymore.

I like those lines.  Keep Thorburn and maybe Burmi as extra forwards for injury insurance (Burmi can play all positions).

Maurice likes that line and probably doesn't care if they score much he only cares that they don't get scored against. He wants that line against the other team's top lines. He likes a big Center so I can't see Lowry going to the wing.

Yep I guess, but it's still this kind of logic IMO ... ;)

Its still focked up though that a sitting Burmi is still better then a sitting Copp or Tanev.

Because Copp and Tanev have a future with the Jets and benefit by playing.  Burmi doesnt have a future with the Jets and is an extra forward...and likely traded by the deadline.  Same goes with Thorbs, he might have more of a future with the Jets but he gains nothing by playing more minutes.  He is what he is.

Burmi tradeable? LOL!

Ya really...1.55m and a RFA this summer and he hasn't been traded yet? Nobody wants him.

Chevy on the phone to Washington's GM Brian MacLellan:  Hey there, have I got a deal for you!

Mac:  Oh no, is this about that Russian guy again?

Chevy: Ah...well I...ah...

Mac: Look bub, no one wants him, at any price.  Why you guys brought him back from the KHL is a mystery, but it's your mystery to solve, not ours!

Chevy: Well you know, you've got that Madison Bowey guy in the minors...

Mac: Yeah, and??

Chevy:  He'd sure look good playing with Morrissey again like he did in Kelowna...and on the gold-medal world junior team...

Mac: Yeah, and??

Chevy: So I was thinking, Burmi, Stafford, and a third rounder for him?

Mac: Stafford and a third rounder.  Keep Burmi.

Chevy:  No deal!

Mac:  I am hanging up now.  CLICK!

I agree with most of this except the part about bringing him back from the KHL. He flourished there and he's an asset. Not much of a risk at a decent price.

Really, if Chevy was just looking to unload the contract, he would put him on waivers. Someone would take a chance.

Edited by JCon

If the Jets thought he was worthless, they'd waive him to the Moose and hope someone takes him.  The fact they wont waive him to the Moose means they think someone will take him AND they dont want him taken for nothing.  He's also been a guy plugged into the line up when there are holes to fill.  Jets obviously see some value in a young, talented player who is still cost controlled for X number of years.

Lawless reported the Jets were shopping him.  So we can assume that is true.  I see Burmi as an add-in to sweeten the pot in a larger trade.  Maybe involving Stafford to a team looking for some depth for a playoff run.
