  1. He has no one to pay him to do it.
  2. They ran their Wing-T offence where there where like, 4 guys lined up behind the centre. 2 of them being"QBs". but just a whole lot of guys taking off in different directions. I can't imagine it would have been fun to watch by our standards today.
  3. I don't believe they did very often, lol.
  4. I'm sure this is simply a move to eliminate any leverage for the PA in negotiations. If players are here, they're not going back home.
  5. There are also more Harris jerseys than Stanley Bryant jerseys. What a **** example.
  6. I'm going to throw it out there that none of our back-up OL make more than Bighill - and certainly don't make as much as he is capable of earning if he went to the highest bidder.
  7. I think Southern Ontario is more than fairly represented already...
  8. It literally already happens every time the salary cap goes up.
  9. Obviously that's a completely separate point that doesn't reduce costs at all. And I'd point out it wouldn't reduce overpays, it would just shift it to other players (back to the 750k QB deals).
  10. I get that sometimes you ask for things you wont get so you can bargain down to a more reasonable expectation. But these are ridiculous and cartoonish and it makes me wish that the execs were a little more sophisticated.
  11. Report = a reporter making specualtions.
  12. There is definitely an element of 'new season' goggles going on when looking at our prospects. Especially when we know it's going to take a year or two for these prospects to really break out.
  13. Guys in the locker room are already at the games - we're talking about the audience. A bunch of old guys debating what's "with it" with kids is hilarious, btw. Could it be that young people enjoy different genres in the same way that we all enjoy different types of music?
  14. Also, do we need to listen to one song ad nauseum? Could we not mix it up and have various genres? Diversity is Strength, guys.
  15. C'mon, they are in private discussions to improve the league/game. No one should be afraid to bring anything up in those types of meetings. Someone brought it up, everyone said no, on to the next point.
  16. Not defending Huf, but the league itself. Media was bending over backwards trying to convince everyone the league voted on switching to 4 downs. Huf admitted here that it was an informal vote on whether to hold discussions or not - which is very different from deciding to make the switch. Huf may well want to switch to 4 downs - the league as a whole does not.
  17. Nope... this isn't his first comment.
  18. Teams will be very motivated to give that halo to returners. Also, tackling a guy who has his head down, picking up a ball is absolutely the equivalent to roughing the passer.
  19. I don't love starting at the 40, and I think the no yards will have it's draw backs too. It's just attempts to artificially create offence and I think that's stupid. The rest seem like reasonable attempts to shorten the game and make it faster/more exciting.
  20. Another thing to consider is what these players bring back to their country. Hansen went back home and won a Championship for his home league. If he never comes back, but takes his experience from here and uses it to help grow the programs back home, is that also considered a win?
  21. It's been nice having some kind of sports to watch in the homestretch before the CFL starts up.
  22. Taylor alluded to some stuff when he left the Rider position.
  23. I thought he burned bridges after not getting it last time.
  24. Remember this was to grow the game of football. The ideal scenario is guys coming to play here, Canadians to have opportunities to play in other countries as well. Grow the game to the point where there is money to be made for TV deals home and abroad - which is a long term goal. We've hit a couple of predictable speed bumps: A. The middleground between effective global and replacement level import B. The lack of organization in leagues abroad that makes it unappealing for Canadian players. C. The impatience of those who expect immediate results in a long term project that could take decades to develop.
