  1. That was my immediate thought. Seems like the obvious choice.
  2. Literally no one has claimed no mistakes were made. ****, man. It's the championship game, loser goes home, the win is not guaranteed to go to "the most talented team".
  3. Our D needs to figure out how to be successful with Canadians mixed in there too. Count me out on Oakman as well.
  4. We're just going off a comment from Zach that suggests he's going to be helping Dru find the best place for him. At this point of the season, I personally don't know where that is. But Tommy Condell in Ottawa might hold some sway now.
  5. Still a long way to FA. I fully think you can't tear everything down and put a young guy in at QB and expect him to experience any success. Harris is the guy you want taking licks while you get everything else in place. You need to get the next guy in the building, but I don't want him starting right now. That said, O'Day is the worst and can be counted on not to do the right thing. I'm just speaking about what I would try to do.
  6. You don't think it's unlucky to have Scheon, Demski, and Bailey injured for the Grey Cup?
  7. You have to admit it was pretty unlucky, too. I certainly don't expect the team to have 3 starting calibre receivers on the PR.
  8. Totally possible. But his health was pretty good prior to last year, iirc. Unfortunately this isn't the NFL where you can use a first round pick on a QB and him develop with your coach. You need a vet to help you or you'll never be able to find the earlyish success you need. Harris can be good enough if they can find the next guy. But again, that's the hard part.
  9. I remember being happy about Drew Willy, lol. Harris was a huge get for them last year. Yes they need to plan for the future, but he was a great scrap heap find.
  10. It'd be nice, but I don't see why he would. The salary cap isn't catching anyone by surprise, we knew we'd be in this position and that's the contract he was offered.
  11. I think they're just excited for the prospect of change. Mace should be worlds better than Dickenson and, depending on the staff he can bring in, might bring them some decent year 1 results. It will of course take a few seasons of successful drafting/scouting to make a real difference, but I'd be excited if I was in their place.
  12. He's just getting so bitter in his old age. 🤣
  13. MLB is a spot where we could cut some cost and not lose production. But Bighill's also re-worked his contract many times to help us out, so I doubt he's going to be the reason we lose another guy off the roster. I don't know what he's making, but I doubt it's a back-breaking deal for the club.
  14. Yup. But that's just the reality of our team make up and the state of QBing across the league.
  15. It really just means rotating Cole in there for a few more snaps per game.
  16. We’re paying Zach more now than we did then. I don’t think our cap will allow us to spend resources on an experienced #2 and there isn’t anyone in the league who could keep us afloat if Zach was out. I would much rather our limited resources and time went to someone with a higher ceiling.
  17. Agreed on all 👍
  18. Isn’t this a pretty normal thing for teams to do?
  19. I feel like he was one of the guys who has said he’s coming back if we’ll have him. He’s not even that old.
  20. Both, if possible. Brown would be my focus. I wonder if this is the year we get Ian Book in camp. He's been on our neg list forever and seems to have run out of NFL chances.
  21. Mike Miller is the easy answer, but we still kept him on the roster all season so it wouldn't even surprise me to see him come back. Stanley Bryant apparently walked off in a huff and probably is the guy who was saying he's done. But I'm putting my faith in Walters who thinks he just needs to cool off and then will talk him into coming back for another go.
  22. Not expecting to lose any starters. Maybe some depth guys.
  23. That’s how we developed Brown in the first place. We’re paying Zach too much to overly invest in the depth. Prukop + rookie is what I’m expecting.
  24. You’re not saving a whole lot on each of those moves. Probably have to make a bunch of those just to pay for the bumps for other starters you want to keep. Big bumps like Brady and Dalton are going to require more significant moves.
