  1. Reebok giving another big FU to bomber fans here.
  2. Made me go look at my royal blue jersey in my closet to see who made it and what do you know... Reebok. Wonder what the issue is then, gotta be contractual then since Reebok is the one who made the jersey in my closet.
  3. @MorningBigBlue Not quite that simple, unfortunately! My guess, it means the league needs to approve them and probably won't. I don't think this is purely a bombers choice at all, i think the league tells them they can't always wear them. The unfortunately part at the end suggests they would definitely like to wear them more, it leads me to believe that their hands are a bit tied up though by the league.
  4. Interesting to see some of the other choices... McCallum seems to get the NOD from most of them for the kicker spot. Guess that's just based on ??reputation?? Never mind, according to the bc lions stats section on their website, McCallum is 24/25. Only missed one all year.
  5. Also agree with the earlier comment about Johnson being jobbed a bit too, He's been pretty darn shut down back there. If i were to rank the DB's right now, Johnson may be ahead of Randle as he is a CFL rookie playing a spot that CFL rookies normally don't play.
  6. Messam isn't even on the field all the time, he's not even their number 1 back, ford or allen is, i think it's ford but who really knows. Went No because, really, just make the tackle, execute the play, be in the right spot and it doesn't really matter who is back there. Funny thing is, Sask didn't really have much yards running against us last game up until that final drive, we actually did pretty well vs the run last game. That last drive was where sask gained all there rushing yards though not all but... Sask had 160 yards rushing, 4 of those yards were when sunseri was in the game Durant had 3 for 28.. all those were on the last drive Allen had 7 for 38, 15 of that 38 was on the last drive when he scored Ford had 7 for 26, wasn't really used on that last drive was he? Messam had 6 runs for 64 yards.. Probably 20 on the last drive You take away the riders last drive and the bombers actually did pretty well vs the run.
  7. Gonna say it, may not be popular but #randleisland has been invaded more than once this season for sure. Leggett is definitely not getting much love, dude is a beast out there. Agree that Lirim is being jobbed, has 2 misses all year and both have hit the goal post.
  8. be sweet if booker got 5 sacks in a game, then did the 5x 5x 5x 5x 5x shtick after the game talking to irving.
  9. Didn't Ottawa sign him to the PR? he's not even on the active roster, only reason they signed him is because demarco is done for the year, If anyone thinks Elliot will get any playing time being behind burris and 2 other guys, You are kidding yourself. I'm not sure why they brought him in but i'd suspect he doesn't see the field and i suspect he is released in the off season. The only logical reason for them to sign him is because he has some cfl experience but then why did they sign him to the PR and not add him to the active roster.
  10. Not comparing Ehlers to Patrick Kane but when Patrick Kane started in the NHL, he weighed less than Ehlers.
  11. Grigsby hasn't fumbled the ball once either, pretty impressive stat. Give grigsby an Oline and i think you see good things.
  12. Paul Lapolice? Knowing Joey?
  13. Paul Friesen ✔ @friesensunmedia Why Mike O'Shea's late third-down decision in Regina was wrong. In your Thursday Sun. Or at http://winnipegsun.com Well, i'm more convinced than ever that it was the right call.
  14. Bryant certainly not the long-term answer to our receiving problem but he's the best journeyman we have right now and still might be capable of delivering a solid outing if Willy drills the ball into his facemask. Moore seemed to get open a lot but his ball-handling abilities are highly suspect. Romby also drops the odd one when he tracks back after gaining 1st down yardage and tries to turn an 11 yd gain into an 8 yd gain. At least Watson, Guardino, Denmark, etc. seem to know how to fall forward and maximize gains. Romby and Moore (particularly Romby) have developed nasty habits of thinking their 4.8 speed legs can out run 4.6 and 4.7 guys with the advantage of closing angles! Moore has like 2 fumbles all season, 1 we recovered, Why no mention of all the big catches he's made?
  15. This sort of thing is what got a good coach (Dave Ritchie) fired. Little bit of difference there, O'shea is a rookie head coach, Ritchie was not. O'shea will learn from his mistakes. I think what people need to remember is we have a rookie head coach who will make mistakes at times, maybe he's playing those guys over other guys because they are actually better options, really hard to sit here, don't care if you go to a practice or not, none of us are in the meeting rooms or the film study rooms, none of us have any clue as to why they make the decisions they make but you can believe this, you can bet your butt that they are making those decisions because they feel it gives them the best chance to win. Yup Ritchie lost his job, and one day O'shea will too. It's the life of the coach. In all sports. 6-4, double the wins from last season, competitive in every game really.. Who honestly expected that? All with a rookie coach and basically a rookie qb who hasn't played one full season in the league... Willy has made 14 starts, 10 this year... Not even a full season. This team is on the right track.
  16. I like O'shea as a coach, he's done more good for sure but the one criticism i'd have of him is his loyalty to veterans who don't produce. Kuale and Bryant being 2 examples. Although I'm sure he's listening to his coordinators here quite a bit too. But maybe he shouldn't.
  17. No, i mean, ticats have so much national dline depth that one of those guys will be moved eventually, my money is on gill being moved and my money is on the bombers trading for him.
  18. HMM, that 1960's mentality of people who live in "smaller cities" is alive and well still. Pretty obvious who doesn't go to games in Winnipeg. Fact is, Vancouver and Toronto are not sports cities, they are very much bandwagon cities, They only care when there teams are good and or winning, Winnipeg is not like that at all, We are a better sports city, we might even be the best sports city in the entire country.. Goldeyes,Bombers,Jets all play on the same day.. you are gonna have 7000 at the baseball game, you will have 15,000 + at MTS centre, You will have 30,000 + at IGF.. It's happend before where they all played on the same day and drew sellouts or damn near sellouts to each of their games. Bigger cities have more things to do? Lol, like what? go to bars? restaraunts? movies? sports events? what? go to the beach? we got beaches too... Seriously, besides more people, which doesn't always mean better, what the hell does vancouver and Toronto have that other smaller cities don't? It's not about how many people and to be honest, it isn't even about where those people come from, cuz Little old Winnipeg is the culturally diverse capital of Canada, means we got people of all shapes sizes colours and races, We got the highest french population outside of Quebec and If you go to a baseball, hockey or football game here, you see people of all shapes sizes race and colours. Comes down to what i said at the start... Vancouver and Toronto are not good sports cities, Winnipeg is.
  19. A leopard (especially long in the tooth like etch) can't change it's spots. While i agree, i do see some irony in using that in a response to Nate. Actually a heck of a lot of irony.
  20. Don't think Thigpen was ever a legit option for the bombers anyway. Fan rumours are great though for sure.
  21. No team has signed him yet, he's either waiting for a shot with another NFL team, has no interest in coming back to the CFL is toxic or is asking for way too much money. Believe what you want but... he's a one dimensional pass rushing defensive end. I like the guy, like how he plays but i could see how teams would shy away from that. Are we a pass rushing defensive end away from being a dominating team? Nope.
  22. Gotta agree with that. Whether it's putting Bolton in as the extra RB or McGuffie in as a receiver, It's time these guys got a chance otherwise what's the point in keeping them around. They have been here a while now. Let's see what they got. Anyone go to Practice? How do Bolton and McGuffie look out there? Like they belong or ?? Probably tough to tell with them on the practice squad but still... Effort there? Getting better every day?
  23. Darrin Bauming @DarrinBauming Nick Moore (ankle) and Kashawn Fraser (knee) will be out a few weeks, according to O'Shea. Jason Vega will start this week. #Bombers Guaranteed Romby draws back in.
  24. I'm under the impression that if Gill decides to play in the CFL, it will be with the bombers. Ticats will be forced to trade him eventually. Think it happens in the off season though. I also strongly get the feeling that Alex Hall is one of those "me me me" players. A few weeks back, O'shea said Hall is the same type of player as Joe Montford and Elfrid Payton, 2 guys he played with, said those guys wouldn't be willing to do whatever it took to help the team win, they were all just about rushing the QB. There is a reason Hall hasn't been brought back and I think that might be it. Can ***** and complain about it till the cows come home, But, i don't think i'd want a player who is unwilling to do what the DCoordinator tells him to do, Those types of players are Toxic.
  25. Lirim has missed 2 field goals all season, both misses have hit the goal post. We haven't had a kicker this accurate in years.. My lifetime even.
