  1. Heres an example as to why our media sucks for the most part When they asked O'shea about the release, O'shea said they gave him a couple different options, one not being his release and grigsby then asked for his release. You would assume the next logical question after that would be 'What options did you give him" but nope, didn't ask that, just moved on to something else. This is why speaking to the coordinators is pointless, this is why actually reading the papers is pointless, it's all pointless cuz the questions that most fans want to know (i'm assuming most fans would want to know what options grigsby was given)(i know i wanted to know), but our media don't ask that and then pretend to be speaking on behalf of the fans? what fans are they speaking on behalf of? They ain't asking the questions i want to know... Why not ask what the options were, that seems to be pretty relevant in this scenario, what options did they give to grigsby, if one wasn't to be released then what the heck other options did they give him... I gotta LOL at those who think the media here would actually ask relevant questions, they don't even ask the obvious ones when it's right there in there face, you could see MOS almost getting ready to explain what those options were and honestly he looked surprised when the media just totally ignored it. Speaking on behalf of the fans? Bullllllllllllllcrap and i hope to GOD o'shea knows and i'm pretty sure he knows, but i hope to god he knows that those morons do not represent the average fan. If that is the mentality tho of the average fan, we got bigger problems then who our coaches players or management are.
  2. Not exactly. That's the problem with the media, they actually skipped the rest of that quote. O'shea actually said more but he said it's best to just say "no comment" cuz no good could come of saying more. AKA he didn't want to say that they probably tried to and were trying to but had no takers cuz most teams don't trade for average running backs. With that being said tho, drew edwards on twitter, ticats guy says he's hearing the ticats have some interest in Grigbsy. Nobody would have traded for him tho.
  3. We will just do it like this QBs- Willy,Brohm,Marve <--- all upgrades on last seasons complete CRAP.. BY A MILE even. RB- let's call it a wash really, Ford was ok last year, much like Grigsby this year, Just ok, nothing special, Just ok. <--- needs to be upgraded big time OL- January,Morley,Jones and Howard (for a bit) were around last season... Goossen,Tyler,Hinse and the PR guys are pretty much new.... Couple Import tackles i'm assuming on the PR right now so i suppose they do recognize the weakness, Neufeld has been hurt, Knapp lost his job and hasn't been able to get it back.. Bit undersized i suppose. WR- Moore, Denmark.. Kohlert,Watson.. Moore is new, the rest are the same. Kelly is the same, Bryant is new but not really, JFG is new too... Should have been able to find at least one receiver better than Kelly and Bryant, maybe that guy is on the PR though, who knows. Really just need 1 guy there. Couldn't find him earlier on, altho maybe kemp would have been that guy but he got hurt, hard to say exactly. Have tried McGuffie but he doesn't seem to be that impressive right now. DL- exact same as last year minus a few guys and plus Vega. Booker looked good, Fraser was ok when he played too, just got hurt..Lots of issues there with Injuries though. LB- Definitely worse, Funny cuz both Wild and Dunn were starters last year for us. Wild is good, Dunn is i suppose adequate? I dunno, don't hear his name much, not sure if that's good or bad.. DBs - definitely better than last year... big time upgrades there S- Leggett is way better than Muamba K- Lirim is the best kicker we have had in some time But when you really look at it... Leggett,Johnson,Fraser/Booker have been our only real changes from last season. Minus the QB's and free agent signings. Probably not good enough but i suppose i'm willing to give the scouting staff the benefit of the doubt for now, they seem to understand that there are issues with this team and judging by a few PR signings, they seem to be recognizing the right areas. Couple Tackles on there, Just signed a Linebacker too, Looks like he can play the Middle, so they are aware of the issues so that's a plus in my view but they haven't really given these guys a chance yet and the ones they have given that chance too, well a couple have looked decent (Booker,Tyler) a couple have not.
  4. Don't most teams in the CFL have the same policy? I know Montreal did with trestman and i'm pretty sure sask and calgary and even edmonton now have the same policy. Maybe it's cuz i'm not following the other teams as much as the bombers, but seems to me that at least half the teams in the league have the same policy as o'shea. Heck pretty sure Toronto does too.
  5. maybe if fans could ask the questions but with our media here, you'd get nothing interesting at all. You may not understand it cuz you live out there in BC but the media here are pathetic and you'd learn absolutely nothing new from them if they were to speak with the assistant coaches. Can say what you want out there on the west coast but don't think you can truly understand unless you live here. That's absolute hogwash. I can and do truly understand, not because I live or lived in Winnipeg, but because I watch the media scrums and read the Winnipeg papers online. The only thing I can't do from out here on the coast is go to the practices. Most around here don't do that either, Again, say what you want but when you constantly agree with the biggest troll in the winnipeg media, it tells me you really don't get it at all.
  6. Amazing tho, all the bitching these guys were doing on twitter and then it's 1 minute of questions about grigsby and then move on. Seriously,Lawless had the first question, sara orlesky from tsn had one (similar) and then friesen asked the same question, seriously 3 similar questions from 3 different people. I don't get our media, you can almost hear them going damn, that was my question, now what do i do. It's crazy, 30 seconds on grigsby if that really, take out the stuterring and the questions and it was 30 seconds, maximum one minute on grigsby.
  7. they didn't ask. One of the options tho was not his release.
  8. maybe if fans could ask the questions but with our media here, you'd get nothing interesting at all. 9. same self righteous prick it always is... Paul Friesen.
  10. No clue but I absolutely loved his response. Friesen.
  11. Not much said, o'shea when pressed really said he and randle would have been good team mates, referring to what chris randle said about grigsby. Friesen asks the dumbest questions and you can tell MOS has zero respect for him just the way he answers his questions, asked why they can't speak to the assistant coaches, o'shea then goes on to explain what he has said all season, friesen then asks why they had a closed practice today, o'shea said cuz the RCMP were doing exercises at the stadium too and civilians weren't allowed in. Friesen says why didn't you tell us, MOS says 'cuz i don't have your number". LOL. just classic. Seriously 2 minutes on Grigsby, same questions, Lawless was the most informative of them all, kills me to say this but felt lawless asked the best questions about it.
  12. Here is the difference between Bomber fans blaming MB and rider fans blaming Cortez... Cortez has been one of the best OCs in the CFL for years and years and years while MB has peaked at average and shown for years that the best he can do is average. He has had bland and dull offenses every where he's gone and they've done just enough to not be a total embarassment at best. Cortez on the other hand has had CFL leading offenses many times on many different teams. One guy has a stellar resume and the other is the guy you hire when you have no other choices. Yes, it seems MB mediocre as our OC and should be replaced. Bombers inability to produce on Offence is their biggest problem. Defensively we are not great - but not as bad as everyone is making out. If you look at points surrendered you see that this year our defence actually didn't cost us too many games. D contributed points with turnovers and held opposing teams to low points against. My concern is actually with MOS in relation to the O. He admits he knows nothing about the offensive phase of the game and therefore delegates to his OC. This was fully revealed couple weeks back on the Coaches Show when a caller asked why Bombers don't run more outside runs and power sweeps. MOS said those plays don't work in the CFL because opposing Ds have their fastest players between the hashmarks and sidelines. The field is 65 yards wide. These plays do work. Also, MOS said you can't have extra blockers and delayed release plays but of course this is rubbish also. Never did MOS say that he knows nothing about the offensive phase of the fame! You obviously have a selective memory...that was Burke last year who said he knows nothing about offence. Yeah i have to admit, i tend to listen to the coaches show every week and don't ever recall MOS saying anything remotely close to that.
  13. Can hear the media bitching because they have had to sit around for 20 minutes, however one guy just said practice ended 10 minutes later today.. Someone just snorted while laughing, probably lawless. and they have stopped the stream.... dun dun dun...
  14. My question on Swiston is, how bad is he? I mean, he hasn't played all year, he's on our PR. I'm not so sure he's that great actually, if he was one would assume he would be playing instead of one of our 3 import oline. Him being on the PR right now and not getting a chance at all this year says to me that 1. he isn't good enough or 2. he's still hurt a bit.
  15. It does make you wonder.
  16. Yeah i really don't think the team cares if there are boo birds out, i mean really, if the team is being run by the fans and players are being sent packing cuz the fans are booing, we got bigger problems then who the coach or players are.
  17. Aint no quit in a man...who quit? Yeah subers tweet makes no sense considering grigsby asked to be released, asking for your release is the polite way of saying "i quit'. so obvious there is quit in that man, a lot of it apparently.
  18. I was under the impression that most people wanted Grigsby gone weeks ago, not sure why some are thinking this is a bad thing, when most of us wanted this to happen weeks ago. Guess it shows you how out of touch some fans and media actually are with the fan base, kicking us when we are down? is this really a day where we are down/ or is this kind of a happy day because the guy 90 percent of this board wanted released, well he was let go. It's a good day no? plus 20 out and grigsby got released, only way it can be better is if i win the lottery tonight.
  19. LOL. it's been 3 games and 2 vs 2 of the best teams in the leauge the last 5 years, san jose played 2 games and gave up no goals in those 2 games, it's not like we were playing against bottom feeders here, the fact we finished 1-2 on that very tough road trip to open the season, and 2 of those games on back to back nights, pretty decent. Anyone expecting the Jets to beat the kings and sharks, maybe i was hoping they could beat the Sharks cuz i didn't think the Sharks would be very good this year, but then i remembered the sharks only suck in the playoffs, they dominate the regular season.... 1-2 on a tough 3 games in 4 nights trip is a pretty decent start to the season really. Injuries suck tho.
  20. His twitter feed says otherwise. Reading between the lines on his tweets, pretty obvious he asked to be released because he was replaced by Cotton.
  21. I honestly don't think Paris will do much better, we play calgary twice and bc once, those are probably 2 of the best 3 teams in terms of run defense this season... but i hope he is given a fair shot, i honesly don't see him doing much because our oline is that bad but... if they give him a hole and he can break a leg tackle, he's already done more than grigsby, must be frustrating for the oline to open up a hole for a back only to see that back was tripped off in the back field cuz he couldn't break a shoe string type tackle.
  22. I agree, and i feel by just adding 2 solid american tackles, that would make a difference. Gotta be honest here, January has had a pretty brutal season, really bad actually, way more bad than good, him sucking has probably lead to a guy like greaves, who january plays beside not playing that great either, when your buddy beside you is sucking, you are probably going to try to over compensate a bit and try to do more than you should. I think if we can find 2 american tackles, and one canadian (guard) we should be ok. Holmes is a guy i'd go after, he's a starter immediately, Draft a guy too. Reality is, if we get some luck.. and some growth and actually get a guy in the draft who can play right now.. That oline can be significantly changed in one off season, need some luck there tho.
  23. But he kind of is, because at times the oline has given him holes to run through, all he had to do was run through a leg tackle or make one guy miss and he had plenty of yards in front of him but more often than not, grigsby couldn't run through that leg tackle, always seemed to get tripped up by those little leg tackles that every back in the league runs right through. I always thought Grigsby was kind of an odd one, on the field i mean, how? Well it seemed like he could break the tackles where you think he shouldn't, he could push the pile at times but.. the tackles you think he should be able to break, nope, didn't do it. The little leg tackles, the "shoe string" type tackles, never could break those ever.
  24. We have good backups but right now those backups are playing because our depth is so poor, like mentioned above, Thomas is a good player, he shouldn't be a starter tho but as a backup? he's pretty solid, same with sherman, probably not a starter exactly but as a backup? pretty solid. We all knew our Canadian depth would be an issue, you had to be crazy to think it could be fixed in one off season, the reality tho for the Canadian depth situation is it's gonna take some time to be where we truly need to be, couple seasons at least, if not more, took how many years to get to this point? Can't fix it in one or 2 off seasons, gonna take time. The canadian depth issue is going to be an on going topic for some time i feel American depth though? well, they have brought some guys in, Daniels and Anderson on the OL, brought in Tyler also, tried howard, jones, tried a few different guys there, they are trying but guess haven't found that guy yet, maybe daniels and anderson can be those guys, thought Tyler has looked ok the last couple games. He seems capable at least. Hopefully once we are officially eliminated some of the PR guys are given their chance. Would love to see it, Really hope to see Anderson and Daniels get a game or 2 to show what they can do.
  25. A team desperate for a back like Hamilton might take a flier on him. Or a team desperate for someone who can catch the ball like Ottawa may use him as a receiver. A team desperate for a back like Hamilton might take a flier on him. Or a team desperate for someone who can catch the ball like Ottawa may use him as a receiver. Haha! Let's hope it's Ottawa! It won't be anybody. I can almost guarantee it, Ottawa has 2 pretty good backs, that williams guy is pretty good and i don't see any other teams picking him up.. who? maybe BC but i doubt it, there oline is as bad as ours.
