  1. Its unfortunate the way it went down for Willy this year. I was hoping he would have been pulled at least for a few series to settle down during some of the early games. The difference is that Nichols was able to execut Lapo's offence right away and Willy obviously struggled, perhaps partly due to new offence along with rehab rust etc. i suspect now that he's seen Nichols execute some of the play he struggled with, (while holding the clipboard) he may see things differently. If we could get 2014 Willy back, along with Nichols we would be pretty well set at QB. 2014 Willy is in there and we will see him again. Hopefully with this team.
  2. Sure, I suppose its the pre-determined category that Foketi was placed in that seems a little harsh. I'll have to re-look at the film
  3. Sure, I guess it depends how you measure success. I can think of a few former OL that people referred to as turnstiles. I don't think Foketi had that type of game.
  4. I don't get the bad review of Foketi either. Maybe he struggled in his first start, but Nichols was untouched. Perhaps he was just lucky. We should be so lucky to struggle like that every game.
  5. A little playing time for the backup can be a good thing. Could be having Davis in short yardage or garbage time.
  6. Yes, i supose nothing is totally out of the question. Wasn't that long ago Edmonton traded away Ray and got very little for him
  7. I thought I read all of the CFL news last week, until I read this...Thanks man.
  8. KG just threw 5 TD passes last game. I don't think Popp is going to trade him anytime soon. Willy for Cato maybe or Adams. I'd take Cato, but in that event, may as well stick with Davis and Bennett as backups.
  9. Agreed, No question the budget for Nichols increases now that he's playing. Also, no doubt that they would have thought that if Nichols was playing, then Willy would be on injured list. The key here is the word "potential" Possibly. Tough to say without details of contract...I'm sure it will come out soon enough if there is a cap issue. It may also be one of those bonuses paid in February type deals that see a release in the spring. I do believe K.W. would have his bases covered. In that case Montreal may want him
  10. It does say "if he reaches play-time bonuses" he will make $410 for 2016. I would suggest he won't make FULL play time-bonuses. Not sure how much that is, but it may not make him so undesirable to keep or trade.
  11. Denmark...gotta support the td streak
  12. Haven't seen a breakdown anywhere. I would think the media reports the max a starting QB can make (to inflate the number), assuming he starts. I would also assume they report a backup QB salary as the max he can make assuming he doesn't start. I'm sure the salary structure of our QBs will be a question asked to KW by media at some point. It would be interesting for sure to find out, but honestly I don't care how much they make. I wouldn't mind being the most expensive team (with a fine for going over the salary cap) to win the Grey Cup.
  13. Maybe he drank the Jones "kool aid"
  14. Im not convinced Willy's going to make $411 this year. He may not make his play-time bonuses. I suspect that it's structured in a way linked to play time/performance. "Then, according to sources, Willy's salary will rocket to $410,000 in 2016 and to $450,000 in 2017 if he meets his play-time bonuses."
  15. I think it's a good read. I like his assessments. Disagree about Denmark though. He struggled when our offensive system struggled. Blown coverage is how some big plays happen and he's a great go to guy to make them pay.
  16. I don't think we'll be trading for Burris, Durant or any other QB right now. Both have been good in the past, but they have a shelf life and it's looking to be neering the expiry date for both. Not saying picking up Durant as a free agent would be bad idea if the opportunity presented itself. I think right now he's a victim of the rebuilding mess in Sask. Just a big hard No to Burris. Don't need the ego or whiney attitude. I actually liked watching Ottawa when Trevor Harris was starting. As for Willy, he's better than he has played so far this year. Needs some work to get his job back. Perhaps he'd be better off with another team. I think Sask could use him back.
  17. Luke Tasker
  18. Gonna go with Denmark again.
  19. Denmark
  20. Sinopoli
  21. Right? I mean that should have worked. They are sweet though.
  22. I think it should be against rules to pick a player who will play against us this week...It's almost sacrilegious I guess the alternative is to actually stop him
  23. Exactly, this past time we went with a rookie CEO, rookie Gm and a rookie HC. They have a plan and need to stay the course, but If this doesn't work out, we don't need any knee jerk reactions to fill holes. Next time, we need experienced GM and HC with proven winning track record. If there are none available, we're just continuing the poor decision cycle.
  24. If I recall, MOS contract is up this year. He will not be renewed after another losing season. Fired during season? no plus, we'll need time to "look at the film" In 2011 BC started 0-5 and went on to Win GC. What if Wally was fired after 0-5 start that year. Not comparing MOS to Buono....at least not yet. Wait a minute, if they had fired Buono, would he be our head coach now?
  25. 9-9 sounds dreamy right now. I think our offence improves as they work things out. Can't get much worse.
