  1. If they didn't re-sign Jake we'd see a lot more of Schmekel this year, which may or may not be a problem.
  2. Point is he wasn't fired, he left by choice to take a job in his home state and he's 66, 3 years older than Richie Hall.
  3. They've got rocks for brains over there, Harris gets knocked out before game 8 and they finish the season on an 8 game losing streak....for the 3rd straight year.
  4. Agreed WR budget is bigger than the RB budget, but what is the limit? Lawler $285k Demski $180k Bailey $120k? Woli $120k? Schoen $250k? Looking at $1 million for 5 players in that positional group and there are at least 2 backups, all within a $5,450,000 salary cap. I predict Schoen receives an offer the Bombers can't match and they bump Bailey to $140k to reward him for his hard work and sticking with the team. Slot in rookie contract Ontaria Wilson in Schoen's absence.
  5. Who knows, he might have included his award bonuses and playoff total in that number, but I wouldn't be surprised if he earned that much in one year plus extra outside endorsements. All of which are things Brady should take into account.
  6. Neil McEvoy said recently they are not planning to be a big player in FA, much like the Bombers and Argos, re-signing their own players is their top priority Lucky might not have that many options, he'll probably sign with them for less money, he's "lucky" to still be making more money than Bailey, who beat him out in Wpg. and is a more valuable contributor.
  7. Goes both ways, adding $250k to the receiver budget for Schoen doesn't work well either.
  8. I think Wade might disagree with your viewpoint, his goal is to fill the stadium and sell merchandise, and to that end having a couple of local stars certainly helps.
  9. Don't know if this is true or not but heard on the Ray and Benny Podcast that Andrew Harris made $235k at his peak, which would have been around 2019. Could be these are the numbers Brady is basing his ask on. Also Milt advising Brady to stay in Wpg. to take advantage of the outside football earnings that will be much more lucrative than any money he can make elsewhere.
  10. Hard to know if Vernon is moving up or down considering the salary he started with the Lions.
  11. Could be BA did not have a great year, struggled with injuries and has lost more than a step.
  12. Lawson was taking more snaps than Jake by the end of the season, they only had 3 DT's in rotation so they all got plenty of reps.
  13. Probably said no to Sask., been there done that, ain't going back.
  14. Can't forget about Evan Holm, more than likely we see him back at some point.
  15. If Schoen reaches FA, that won't be the case, he's going to receive a lot higher offers than Brady, and some other team is likely to offer him half the moon, forcing Walters to concede.
  16. They play 6 O-line fronts a lot more than they did 2 years ago, 6th guy is getting plenty of game reps, 7th guy is now the spare. I think they have Kornelson and Adamson coming back from last year. Yoshi maxed out last season at $166k and was nominated top O-lineman in the West, can't see him ever wanting to leave the Bombers willingly for more money, he's so ingrained in the team and the community.
  17. Disagree, Gray rarely gets blown up or overpowered and he and Neufeld are usually the two down field clearing the path for Brady, and the majority of Brady's runs are to the left of C.
  18. Gives them a whole new way to put the ball in the endzone, from 30 yards in he's a running threat they'll have to pay attention to. The main thing his game was lacking in 2019 was patience, he didn't spend much time looking down field, hopefully he's learned to slow things down and take his time.
  19. Similar to Anthony Bennet, Mason Bennett must be invisible, based on chatter I looked for him all last season and rarely caught sight of him doing anything noticeable. As a rotational player may be ok, but the choice might come down to him or Kongbo.
  20. I think you have this mixed up, when Jeffcoat is out Willie spends most of his time flailing about, the majority of his sacks occur when Jeffcoat is in the lineup. Also not to be forgotten, when the Bomber pass-rush is "handled", Hall's secondary turns to mush.
  21. They both played 14 games last season, Jeffcoat's max was $185k, but his cap cost was probably less than $120k.
