  1. It's a losing business strategy tho. More commercial = fewer listeners = can't charge advertisers as much. CJOB's rating have been declining the past few years. The station is getting stale. CJOB is well beyond stale, it's downright crusty.
  2. Brohm has been an absolute disaster in relief work, that is, combined with the dumbed-down play calling. I used to trust that Brohm would be better starting, because of more rep time, but that now has gone the way of the dodo. He simply should be better.Marve should come in as relief. If only for a change of pace. But the thing is, is he ready for backup or just relief? Which brings up our whole package of backup QBs. Certainly Marve should be in position to overtake Brohm for #2 by now. If he isn't, then something is wrong...the QBs...the assessment of the QBs, or the whole damned scenario. I just find it hard to believe somebody, somewhere in the Org. (QB Coach, MB, MOS, Danny MaC) can't do something about this tenuous QB situation. For some reason, after last season they thought they were set at QB and evenly aggressively pursued Brohm to resign which has proven to be a colossal mistake. So far Danny Mac is earning a D minus for his QB recruitment program.
  3. Thanks for opening up another wound Mike. Any details on how or why he got away?
  4. Wade Miller's assignment could not be any clearer. The phrase "build it and they will come" has never been more apt but in this case it refers to building a winning football team not a new stadium.
  5. Don't think it's much, he was throwing balls in the tunnel but not well enough to go back in.
  6. According to O'Shea in his post-game interview it happened during the warm-up for the Stamps game. If that's the case probably no worse than a pulled muscle.
  7. Good time to bring in the infamous "consultant" to give Marcel a hand with the O.
  8. Then the question might be: Why is it other teams come up with guys that can light it up from the word go? We got cleaned by a third stringer last night. So they're still around. Just need people who can spot talent. Also, why is the team wasting all that time trying to develop a 30/31 year old recycled NFL reject. Hey, that's normal here. I called it yesterday in the game thread (before the game started). Every year since I can remember it doesn't matter who plays QB for the Eskimos, that player always looks like Warren Moon. It doesn't matter how good the Bombers are coming in, how bad they are, and same with the Esks. Even in that 51 to 48 game - the coming out party for Khari Jones - he was severely upstaged by third string QB Dan Crowley who passed for almost 500 yards and 5 TD's. I wouldn't fire MOS because of what happened yesterday, Edmonton and Commonwealth, for whatever reason, is Wpg's Bermuda Triangle. As John MacKinnon, sports editor for the Edm Journal, opined in yesterday's pre-game article and the headline says it all "Bombers are the Eskimo's Pinata". That says it all. They just don't beat us, they dominate us - they kick the crap out of us. Not once in awhile, but every fricken game they play here. So happy I left at half time - I missed nothing - NOTHING. My buddy called later we had a good laugh about it. He just shakes his head. What the BUMBLERS do in this stadium is outright embarrasing. Year, after year, after year, after year. Your opinion is welcome but that particular nick-name is not.
  9. Can't blame him, the writing is clearly on the wall. He doesn't fit in with Marcel's O scheme and his only future here is to hold on until Marcel is sacked and replaced with another OC and that is a crap shoot strategy at best. Marcel's scheme is fundamentally flawed in that it can not protect the health of the the QB. It wouldn't matter if they had 5 Stanley Bryants, the opposition is going to find a way to get to the QB standing in the pocket sooner or later. No way Brohm could have survived a full game with some of the hits he absorbed last night, eventually he breaks just like Willy. If Willy is out for multiple games, it's predictable that Brohm will also be injured shortly and then they will have no choice but to hand the ball to Marve as their 3rd option.
  10. Both Jones and Austin have used their Bomber games to demonstrate that they play to the whistle with out mercy. Neither coach gives a damn what other people think of their methods and so far they seem to be working. I'd like to know if O'Shea has the same iron in his heart but the Bombers have not yet put themselves in a position to demonstrate the principles of domination.
  11. If I had Marcel telling me how to play QB, I wouldn't listen either.
  12. How much struggling do you have to consume before you recognize "struggling"? Ya got any of a kitten drowning in a well? It would be more appropriate to Brohm.
  13. Both injuries occurred on similar plays with Willy caught in the collapsing pocket, same as last year. The promise of Increased motion and play action has not become a reality.
  14. How much struggling do you have to consume before you recognize "struggling"?
  15. I still believe the Bombers could have won if Willy hadn't been injured and he had the opportunity to play after the rain stopped. The fact that the rain stopped right after his injury is a clear sign that God wasn't even on the Bombers side tonight.
  16. I thought Westerman, Collins and Gibson looked good on the D-line. The entire D played well for around 38 minutes, right up until Willy's injury Marshall ran well but was underused again, especially considering the conditions.
  17. I'd want to know more about the inner workings... is Miller a new Bauer? Miller hired MB and then was the driving force to make him permanent. Why did Dickenson leave? How did we end up with a consolation prize like Etch... word leaked that Stubler was here and then suddenly wasn't... If Stubler is our DC in 2014, this thread doesn't exist. Pretty sure it was Walters or O'Shea that decided to keep Marcel, not Miller.
  18. Brohm is a 31 year old career backup with no future. I don't get it.
  19. The problem lies in the coaching decisions, not with the talent available. Unfortunately O'Shea route to victory will exceed Miller's patience for stupidity.
  20. I could be making this up but I do actually remember hearing before that Willy isn't allowed to audible. Brohm does deserve at least 90% of our flack, but Devin Tyler was a complete turnstile tonight. We need someone better than him if Daniels is out again next week. According to Irving, Tyler was taken out in the 4th Q, Greaves moved to Tackle and Goosen filled in for Greaves at Guard.
  21. Post-game show. Doug Brown asks O'Shea directly. "is Marve hurt". O'Shea chuckles a bit and says "he's nicked up". After the interview Irving goes into defensive mode and says "Well I don't know but Marve was dressed for practice but he may not have gotten many reps. in practice". Something smells rotten in Denmark when the truth can not be told.
  22. If I had to start from scratch I would choose to build a team around Collaros with Marve as a backup. Willy is probably the best passer of the bunch but he is also the hardest to protect and the least mobile. Should be some amazing shootouts in the next five years once these young QB's get established and begin to compete with each other. Let's hope the NFL leaves this crop alone.
  23. Just my opinion of course, but I would hope that our G.M. could carry himself with a little more dignity. Kudos for his enthusiasm though.
  24. We can delay the reality for a week if you like but when Lulay is playing like this he is hard to beat. Adding Harris just compounds to the difficulty of shutting them down.
  25. I'd love to see him in pigtails....next up "Anne of Green Gables"!
