There's basically two ways for the stadium to book large events. Either they go out and "buy" an event and act as the promoter/co-promoter or an outside promoter rents the building for an event they bought. This NFL game definitely seems like On Ice Entertainment bought the rights to the game and is renting the stadium. The Bombers assume less risk but On Ice stands to gain more if the event sells out. Still, it's within the Bombers best interest to sell that sucker out and get as much concession money as possible.

The only way its possible is to tour non-stop and even then it's not a lucrative business. The few friends I have that are still making their living off of music are rarely home and when they are, they're working a part time job to supplement their income.

Maybe, maybe not.  It didn't seem to matter though.  To get that kind of number without TV says there is an audience there.  If they can build their brand and establish some of the more unknown guys as stars, they will be just fine.

Last night was another good show by WPW. Slightly smaller crowd than the first two but still a solid turn out. Kevin Chevy has improved so much over the past few years. His match with Airwolf was great. AJ Sanchez vs Josh Alexander was another really good match, as was the main event between Shotzi Blackheart, Jody Threat and a third woman who's name I didn't catch.

Forgot to mention the Lucha Bros/Young Bucks match. I really liked that one as well. Overall, I think my favourite part of the show was how well balanced it was. You had fun matches, athletic matches, violent matches, story based matches, brawls, women's matches, singles, tags, young guys, legends, guys in their prime. Just a really great mix.

Finally finished watching it tonight, I like the flippy guys/gals best and there was plenty of that, so I was happy.  Really dug the joshi event, hope that AEW keeps pushing that.
I've seen the Lucha Bros on TV a lot and live twice, I'm a big fan of those guys, and it was great to see them against a team that can go as good as they can, maybe even better -- most matches I see of theirs, they're slowing down because their opponents can't match their speed.  It's a weird match when Pentagon is the slowest guy in the ring.
Wasn't so much into the big name matches otherwise, after the relentless pace of the earlier matches, the main event felt a little slow for me.

I thought I read something a while back about a Canadian broadcast partner but there's been so many rumours and half-truths floating around that I can't keep it all straight anymore.

Bret was a solid heel promo. As a face? Not so much

I always felt that Brett seemed nervous when he couldn't be himself in front of the camera. He did flub a lot of lines while Owen seemed a little more at ease than his older brother. Owen was a way better heel than face

"Yous... Yous guys are nothing but wolf... Sheep in wolf's clothing! You're prancing around nude in some mag... some girly magazine... well I think it was a GAY magazine!" - Bret Hart
And ****, Bret, clear your damn throat! But still, definitely one of the best ever.

heck of a slickly produced video for an “Indy” guy. I wonder who produced it....
interesting thing is, one of the reasons wwe was so open about him leaving was their belief he wasn’t going to AEW, that he just wanted time off and would likely return to WWE.

Anyone attend the CWE anniversary show last week? Looked like a really good card but I wasn't able to make it down. Would love to catch the next PCW show (dog collar match!!!) but I've already got tickets for a concert that night.

Amazing how many people are quitting or trying to quit.  And it’s not over money either as wwe is offering big deals to expiring contracts.   Very bad morale.

Interesting notes.  Quarterly revenue down triggering a 13% drop in wwe share price. But they are still on pace for record revenue this year with the new tv deals.
Vince blames the decline in ratings and attendance on having top stars out.   Uh huh.  He claims everyone is back and they made new stars and have additional writers so everything is great.
They refused to admit they are going back to Saudi Arabia (June).
In terms of declining ratings there has been speculating the Saudi shows turned people off more than expected.  No real proof but ratings declined at a far greater clip after the Saudi shows than before.  Plus I believe they had a ton of network cancellations after the Saudi shows.
Dustin requested his release in January. Vince was against it but hunter talked him into it.  It was granted with a 90 day non compete which just expired.
Harper’s request for a release was denied.  Furthermore they added 8 months to his deal due to his injury (which is ridiculous).  He’s locked up til around wm next year.
Sasha has tried to quit.  But if she sits out wwe can freeze her contract forever. Which, again, is absurd.
Wwe pulled taker and angle from the star cast convention.  Basically they were so mad they offered them new contracts but made them breach their agreement to do the convention.  HBK was going to do it but declined before signing a deal.
Cody was in town filming at Kenny’s place.

I don’t think he has a serious injury history. Just this last one. And he appears to have come back in better shape.   I would suspect that his coming back and wwe doing nothing with him has made him want to leave.  Especially at his age.
you can either accept that WWE would likely keep you for the next few years and it’s a good living.  Or you can leave and make your last big contract as good as it can be. He could be a top guy in AEW.   And I bet their offer would be similar to WWE so why not have more fun.

Add Luke Harper to the list of talent that have requested their release.
Hes 39 years old so it’s a gamble but he’s really talented. And would add some size and experience to AEW

Now that there is potentially a viable alternative to WWE, I'm guessing we'll see more people thinking about where they really want to be and how much they want to allow their careers to be dictated by WWE.

It was almost perfect if it ended with Kofi/Bryan.  That would have been a solid Night One.  Problem is, Night Two took place immediately.

Hey! One more for waaaay too long. Gimme a rock solid 4 hours of your best not a plodding 8-9 hours of whatever you have. Liked Kofi/Bryan and took off with 3 matches left (I'll watch'em later). Wasn't a ton else that really grabbed me. The Shane/Miz match was entirely built around one spot that looked pretty bad on TV. I hate it when they show the guys hitting the crash mat. I thought some of the tag matches were alright but when you have four teams in there the pacing gets a little crazy.

Overall, I went home thinking "Man, that was long" not "holy ****, that was great". Don't think that's the sort of impression they want to leave.

WWE stocks dipped 3% after the segment John Oliver did on his show this weekend. It's a good watch. The guy obviously loves wrestling so it's not done in a way that looks down on wrestling overall, just the McMahons and their business practices.
Skip to 6:21 for the part on WWE
