  1. I still remember attending a job fair in 1989 and Sylvia Kuzyk was just sitting in the CKY booth with no one around her, so a friend and I went over and talked to her, though we were kind of in awe of talking to a celebrity who was on TV! Anyway, she told us that if we went to Red River college and took broadcasting, we had a chance to be broadcasters one day, and follow in the steps of their latest new young broadcasting star who she said had potential to one day be a national broadcaster. That man's name was of course, Rod Black. So you could have been the next Rod Black? You sure must be kicking yourself now for not going to Red River's broadcasting school! lol
  2. I'm not arguing with you personally because I keep reading this same sentiment from many different sites, honest question-how much does he make at TSN? I don't know for sure, but I've heard rumors it's in the $100-150k range per year.
  3. recovering from being run over by a bus. lol Chamblin strikes again!
  4. Casual fans don't care either. Only people who care about Rod Black are the hard core fans aka the minority.
  5. Is Smith cut, suspended, injured?
  6. Who would you put behind us? Saskatchewan for sure, and Ottawa is for this ranking and feels about right. Montreal maybe since we beat them, but they've beaten Calgary and Hamilton, the consensus 2 best teams in the league on paper. We are behind Toronto, Edmonton and BC in the standings. Calgary is Calgary and just beat us, and Hamilton has a losing record, but should have beaten Calgary and thoroughly waxed us at home. Who do we bump out of the top 6?I think right now we're a better team than BC and maybe Edmonton.
  7. In my opinion, we're not as good as 4th and we aren't as bad as 7th.
  8. It's his high profile job on TSN that makes people think he's a good HC, when he really isn't.
  9. I thought I had also read (possibly from @CFL_News) if that were the case expect Jeremy O'Day to be the GM also... Yep I read that too.
  10. If I'm Lapo is keep the TSN gig. He could do that for several years. Coaching the Riders, he'll be fired in a couple years and no guarantee the TSN gig will still be there for him when that happens. He makes good coin working 2-3 days a week, for half a year with TSN.
  11. In the OP it said Picard was sick today.Yes I know. Your point? It's not surprising that with Picard sick they would need another guy snapping the ball and that Neufeld would be that guy. What's with your snarky comments lately Jacquie? I was just stating a fact, that Neufeld was playing centre in practice. It's a notable development, even if Picard was sick.
  12. Glen Johnson doesn't make the rules. He is also not the one who decides how the rules are to be enforced.Refs get their weekly feedback from him on how to apply the rules. The Rules Committee and BoG tell Johnson how they want the rules interpreted. It's not his or the officials' fault if they do that and penalties go up. Johnson cannot change the way they are to be interpreted unilaterally.Actually yes he can because day to day throughout the season, he's the authority. He isn't going to unilaterally decide to overturn rule changes that the BOG implemented 4 weeks into the season. That is over stepping his authority.I know but interpretations can be quite "flexible".The rule changes were a big off season push from the league. Glenn Johnson isn't going to decide on his own that they should be applied more "flexible" unless the commissioner directs him to.He is doing what he was told to. And he isn't the one that can "decide" to change it. I know he didn't decide to change the rules. He's in charge of implementing the new rules and instructing the refs. He instructs the officials to call the new rules the way he was told they should be called. I know, but he's not a robot either. He puts his slant and can emphasize certain things. Glen Johnson has considerable influence on how games are officiated.
  13. Paris Cotton.
  14. Agreed. The Red Barn has some great chicken!
