  1. @jamienye: RUMOUR: Blake Sims' brother tweets the BCS National Championship QB for Alabama on his way to #Riders. Was in #Argos camp this spring
  2. @DarrinBauming: I'm told the #Bombers have not signed @LJ38Bison to a contract, but they have shown interest.
  3. Taman is on the phone trying to land Jason Boltus.
  4. They brought back Keith Price a couple of weeks ago and have him on the PR. Edit: Just noticed the Riders have 12 men on their PR. I thought the limit was 10? Rules like holding, offside, salary caps and roster limits don't apply to the Riders.
  5. Very good point. I read recently that the Bombers are projected to finish the season ~$100-200k over the cap. Obviously that'll change with some creativity by Walters, but we're there already. 6 gaming Picard maybe become a reality this year for you guys. I'd be all in to get Wild back if I was you guys. Even though he isn't MLB size, the guy just makes play after play. Need a guy like that in the middle so he is free to make plays on both side of the field. We can get Wild back and play Picard. Entering the season we were probably in the best cap shape of any team in the league. LOL at those CapGeek projections. They say we are going to be 100-200k over the cap but also say that there are several teams in the CFL that will be 500-600k over the cap. They are so out to lunch I'm not sure why anyone with a reasonable intelligence level would even remotely think they are close. They don't even have most of the salaries reported for any team yet. Most of them are just an arbitrary number they made up themselves because they have no info on the player. Actually they projected only Winnipeg and Montreal to go over the cap this year.

I would like to know where you read that because that number makes zero sense. IIRC, I also read that on a tweet but it was based on the CFL capgeek version which is not really accurate. Yes that's where I read it. CFL CapGeek.

  8. Much better IMO. Westerman is showing why we wanted him and the interior is getting a better push with Collins in there..Makes we wonder what's up with turner? Is he playing hurt or do teams just scheme him into medocrity now? Turner is small for an interior DL. I hope the coaching staff stays with this combo and doesn't let politics, like ego, big name and contract size get in the way of who plays.
  9. Darrin Bauming ‏@DarrinBauming 7h7 hours ago RT Devin Tyler is out this week. O'Shea assured regular starter Jace Daniels (lower-body) will be good to go Thursday night. #Bombers Devin Tyler should be out of a job. If Daniels gets hurt again we should be playing Neufeld at RT.Good call.
  10. Yeah O'Shea does come in with a lot of the same answers to questions. One guy I listened to did nail him though, and said that he had called in last week and told O'Shea that Winnipeg hadn't won in Edmonton since the Milt Miracle, and then when O'Shea was being interviewed on TSN he told Dunigan before the game on Saturday that he wasn't aware of Winnipeg's losing streak in Edmonton, so the caller said "Don't you even listen to what the callers are saying?" I think the answer to that is obvious. That caller was great.
  11. It's a losing business strategy tho. More commercial = fewer listeners = can't charge advertisers as much. CJOB's rating have been declining the past few years. The station is getting stale. It's a losing business strategy tho. More commercial = fewer listeners = can't charge advertisers as much. CJOB's rating have been declining the past few years. The station is getting stale. CJOB is well beyond stale, it's downright crusty.Just like Bob Irving...crusty.
  12. My thoughts exactly. Bellefeuille isn't good at adjusting.
  13. Yep he acknowledged that Marve moves the ball, but Brohm plays within the system. So the coaching staff prefers someone who obeys orders over winning. That has to be the worst answer except "There will be consequences" X8.Based on O'Sheas criteria, I could be the Bombers backup QB. I need no talent, as long as I "play within the system" I'm gold! I'll throw a tonn of pick 6's and throw the ball in the dirt, and the coaching staff will love me!
  14. Do those 30 minutes of commercials include the two 5 minute news breaks? Or is it 30 + 10 leaving 20 minutes for callers?

  17. Bob pretty much works for the Bombers. It's time for Bob to retire.
  18. I found O'Shea was a little softer in his defense of Brohm this week.
  19. Seriously in his post game interview, Brohm said he's been working on his accuracy since the beginning of the season. Yea he actually said that. Wow.
  20. I tried calling in but the lines are constantly busy. Funny after a win its a breeze getting through!
  21. With a lady friend?
  22. I might.
  23. Is this official? If so I nominate Willy for the best impersonation of this guy: Where is Cactus Jack when you need him? Gumby would be a great nick-name for Willy! Watching O'Sheas presser today, I'd be shocked if Willy doesn't play this week.
  24. He's only cost us two possible wins because of time count violations, that's true. I know some of that is waiting for Marcel to communicate the play. But even so DW takes the entire post-whistle 20 secs every play. That saps all momentum. Winnipeg employed a high-tempo hurry offence vs Sask for a few series and haven't gone back to it since. It appears they were focused on trying to address the sluggish tempo but that is down the tubes now. Willy does have a decent completion rate so far this season but the problem is they are the momentum sapping 6-7 yard outs coupled with the very occasional explosion. That does not amount to a sustained drive. But you play the card you are dealt. The more explosive teams in the CFL are coached by offensive minds - Huf, Tedford, Milanovich, and Austin - all ex QBs and those teams have quicker scramblers at the QB position in some ways better suited to the Canadian game. And please don't tell me what I have a clue about or don't as that's just ad hominem and contributes nothing to the conversation. Like best in the entire league going into the Edmonton game. If the "best" completion rate doesn't translate into WINS then that's not a terribly meaningful stat, is it? Sask leads the league right now in total offence per game (YPG) and in both passing and rushing categories. But look: they are 0-5. Willy's completion rate could be through the roof but that doesn't mean he's going to get better as a pro QB in the CFL - and he needs to get a lot better before the Bombers become any kind of meaningful offensive threat.I was commenting on your reference to his "decent" completion percentage.
