  1. If the Bombers would have gone for it and got stuffed people would be screaming for his head. It was a full yard which is far from a gimme. I'm okay with O'Shea's decision, but on TSN it looked like it was definitely less than a yard.
  2. Based on my account, these are the injuries from the LDC: Nick Moore: left the game in the 4th quarter with a leg injury. I was at the game and it looked like a hammy or quad injury, which could be a 3-4 week injury. But could also be a bruise which would be less time missed. Drew Willy: ankle injury that looked like it could have been much worse. I was thinking he could be out for the season with how it looked. Willy is such a warrior. Doug Brown speculated that it was a high ankle injury and that Willy's ankle will balloon up with swelling in the next couple days and he could miss a couple weeks with the injury. His ankle looked fine to me and seeing him run in for that TD lessened my concerns about him playing next week. Willy could have taken some pain killers so who knows. We will have to wait and see on this one. My prediction is Willy starts the Banjo Bowl. Love the comment he made that unless he's on a stretcher, he's playing. Ian Wild: I didn't even realize he was injured until after the game. He'd be a big loss. Anyone know the status of the injury and what he injured? Kashawn Fraser: Also looked like a leg injury. Vega could step in if he's out for a while, but that really cuts the DL depth pretty thin. Nic Grigsby: Left the game for a few plays but I believe he returned, so I assume nothing serious.
  3. Fraser is very solid...he's no downgrade compared to Vega. I get it that Vega is the big "sexy" name, but Fraser is very, very good; coaching staff think very highly of him. Hall ain't coming here; he's a one trick pony and that doesn't fit the |etch style D.
  4. I was at the game yesterday. Talking to Rider fans, they hate Proulx as much or more than Bomber fans.
  5. We need a big bruising running back. OL upgrades are always nice but I thought Jones played a good game and I'm excited to see what Chad Anderson brings to the table. Bryant Turner is playing differently this year because of Etch's system, not because Hall is or isn't here. He's just asked to play a different role...there isn't a designated pass rush specialist this year, like in the past with Hall.
  6. I'm not going to jump on the O'Shea hate in this thread, but if you do go for it there and get the first down, it's a different game. At the time O'Shea made the call I was fine with it. If we go for it on 3rd and one and get a TD it likely takes more time off the clock, which wouldn't allow the Riders to methodically run the ball down the field the way they did for the game winning TD. In the moment when it was 3rd and 1 I really didn't know what the right call was and at the time I supported kicking the FG, taking the lead and let the D win it for you. That's not bad logic.
  7. What the Bombers scouting team needs to be looking for is a bigger 220-230 pound bruising running back to complement Grigsby; a guy like Anthony Allen. We need a RB who can get 5 yards on every down. Grigsby is getting a little better at hitting the line harder, but getting 2 yards on first down just isn't acceptable.
  8. On number 3, the Riders have an exemption with the league where they're allowed to hold. At least that was my assumption after today's game.
  9. Ian Wild left the game with an injury too. Not sure how serious but Kromah might get to play next week that way.
  10. O'Shea and Kuale are dating so Kuale likely starts again next week.
  11. Matthews would be a luxury. We don't need him.
  12. Me too especially with how important the run game is expected to be today. I wonder if Stoudermire could backup at RB?
  13. Could be Volny's time to shine. Only few times I've seen him in the game he either fumbled or got injured. So let's just say I don't have lots of confidence in Volny.
  14. Messam is playing today. I was at Riders practice yesterday and I expect him to have a big role today.Bit of a strange move inserting Messam over Allen. I hope it backfires on them. To clarify a bit. McHenry is out for the season so Messam is dressing as a full back. Both Allen and Ford are expected to see touches at the Tailback position. All three are dressing.FWIW Messam was taking reps with the starters as tailback yesterday.
  15. Messam is playing today. I was at Riders practice yesterday and I expect him to have a big role today.
  16. That's about as bold a prediction as the latest reebok jerseys. Avoiding mistakes has been paramount in the CFL for quite some time now. Or as bold as the typical Gary Lawless analysis of "this game is going to be won or lost in the trenches".
  17. Looking like a gorgeous day here in Regina. Sunny and 22 degrees Celsius for game time. Perfect day for football...and a Bomber win!
  18. He's 33 years old. No way he's coming to Canada.could of replaced 33 with 35 and people said the same thing about Chad Johnson. Much different agendas. Do you know Burleson personally? What's his agenda?
  19. Bad idea not having Cotton on the roster this week. Run game will be important and if Grigbsy gets injured Volny is our RB.
  20. I was at Riders practice today. Based on what I saw, Messam will be heavily involved. Might even see him involved in the short passing game.
  21. Can we bring this guy in for next week only. I like your thinking here.
  22. Seahawks waived RB Spencer Ware, TE RaShaun Allen, CB Akeem Auguste, RB Demitrius Bronson, WR Arceto Clark, QB B.J. Daniels, G Caylin Hauptmann, T Nate Isles, C Patrick Lewis, WR Chris Matthews, DE Benson Mayowa, S Terrance Parks, TE Morrell Presley, DT Andru Pulu, FB Kiero Small, DT Jimmy Staten, S Steven Terrell, LB Korey Toomer and WR Bryan Walters.
  23. What??? Got his forums mixed up... But what does Jon Cornish have to do with Michael Sam?
