Pinball's Grey Cup Ring Stolen at BC Place
gbill2004 replied to Rich's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
So the ring has been returned to Pinball? -
Ottawa has a very good defense. I'm picking them to beat Riders tomorrow.

NFL update on players potentially of Bomber interest
gbill2004 replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I thought Westerman wanted to take a shot at the NFL?? -
Collaros looking good in the second half.

I'm not saying give Fitzgerald 10 looks per game or Pontbriand 15 touches per game. I would like to see them get the ball 2-3 times a game instead of once every second game. So just a little more. Good things always seem to happen when we go to them (i.e. first downs). And like I said earlier, keeping defenses off balance opens things up elsewhere for the offense throughout the game.
-
I disagree. There's huge value in keeping a defense off balance and guessing. A few passes per game to Fitzgerald, and a few runs up the middle for Pontbriand would help do that. I never said replace Watson with Fitzgerald in the slot.
-
Walters stated Morley was moving to centre before Wylie signed with the Bombers.
-
Yep I heard that and I thought it was a terrible response by O'Shea. Pontbriand could be that big bruising RB that'll get you 5 yards every time, that we so desperately need. And O'Shea just responds, "that's not on the playbook". Well get it in the playbook then!
-
Fitzgerald was a slotback in college. He has very good hands. Coaching staff should be taking advantage of this and creating situations for players to use their skills and strengths.
-
I asked O'Shea this question a few weeks ago. He basically said that Fitzgerald has trouble getting open as a receiver because he isn't fast enough. I thought it was a pretty lame response but I didn't challenge him on it. My thinking is it's the OCs job to create schemes to get players open in space if they can't create separation themselves.

Andy Mulumba suffers serious knee injury
gbill2004 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
@A49K: 1/2 Unfortunately, My ACL injury was confirmed this morning, and it's just one of those bumps on the road! Nothing that I can't overcome! @A49K: 2/2 prayers, hard work, dedication, family and love for this game will help me comeback better than before!! #mindset -
What's the three way tiebreaker? The team that gets fifth would be pretty choked. Pretty sure it's win percentage between the tied teams. Believe it or not, if we were to beat BC and ended up in a 3 way tie we are in and the Riders are out. Are you sure about that? Riders beat us all 3 times we played them.

He's likely to end up on the Bears practice roster. -
I agree 100%.

Absolutely not. It's his throwing shoulder. Need to take a long term approach to this.

Andy Mulumba suffers serious knee injury
gbill2004 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Assuming it's an ACL injury, if Mulumba decides to play for the Bombers next year, there's a really good chance he's good to go for 2015 training camp, especially as a D-Lineman. -
So is every thread now turning into a Winnipeg vs. Regina pissing match? It's better than a gbill vs Mike pissing match every thread. Just saying.... Sorry those ones are much more entertaining

Packers OLB Andy Mulumba suffered a "significant" knee injury in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Jets. Coach Mike McCarthy admitted it "didn't look good." The second-year UDFA played 361 defensive snaps last season, recording 30 tackles and one sack. He hadn't played at all on defense through Green Bay's first two games, instead being limited to special teams. The Packers are deeper on the outside in 2014. Source: Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

Who said the run is not a problem?
gbill2004 replied to Maudie fingerjammer's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The term "drinking Kool-Aid" is in reference to a group suicide back in the day. Everyone followed their cult leader, drank the poisonous Kool-Aid and died. -

They also just lost their starting QB for the rest of the season. They could conceivably go on a multiple game losing streak now. The trade for Burris to the Riders isn't happening as Burris has publicly stated he isn't going there. We're definitely not out of the playoff hunt yet, but we do need some wins.
