The guy I see a bit vindicated on this is Claude Noel. Burmistrov's inability to communicate with coaches seems to be a trend.

I think you're bang on here. My unsolicited advice to him would be to simplify, KISS.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that. Hat tricks, multiple point games other? -
Game 38 : Wendy's @ Salisbury House
HardCoreBlue replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Saw Maurice's pregame interview. When SO asked him that question I interpreted his answer as Helle was on a downswing, Hutch played really well in Vancouver and even though Helle played well in Chicago, Hutch deserves the chance to see if he can be the #1 guy. I think pomo might be getting his answer, i.e., no consistency from Hutch. -

A 7-1 W thrashing would be nice. -
Agree, production is key, but as long as he's getting the chances, eventually it will happen. Risk yes, but that's what this is about. We were/are patient with Ehlers. Lets be patient with him, it will pay off. And no I'm not saying he's an Ehlers but he's not another James Wright in my opinion as another poster suggested.

Not me, I'd keep Tanev. He's developing right in front of our eyes. I like this kid.

This mindset is one of the main reasons why politics, at any level, has a hard time attracting good people. Who wants to step into the ring when you're automatically seen as bad?
-
Actually this is exactly what he needs to say. This is what fans need to hear, it's not overly flowery and unrealistic. It's a matter of fact.

To ensure it's a good goal and nothing to challenge.

Trade him to Florida.

Note to both of you. They were both highly irritating regardless of political view.

Game 34 : The Shining @ Misery

Avalanche is exactly what the Doctor ordered. Jets win big on Sunday to start off the last week of work before Christmas on a high. Laine makes amends from the Edmonton game to erase that crappy memory. 6-3 W -
Game 34 : The Shining @ Misery

I really like Ehlers but wouldn't say it's a massive overpayment if we could pry two quality players out of a team plus a high draft pick. Ultimately though it's in our best interests to keep Trouba as long as we can this year, let him flout his wares, and give him up to the highest bidder. The risk is he doesn't flout his wares but it's more his risk than ours if he is at least functional for us over the next two years. -
Please no Durant. Nichols and Glenn for next season will do just fine. Unless Nichols is shown a guaranteed boat load of money (See Willy's previous contract), there's no way he jumps ship. Oh we need to extend Dressler's contract one more year with an option.

In a heartbeat. I would be ecstatic if this happened. Landeskog is a leader. What an addition to our team he would be. Make it happen. Yup would probably have to give up more, Connor would be a good pick but hate to say it but maybe even a guy like Ehlers would have to be offered up. Have to give something to get something. -
We need Myers back in a big way. I don't like to single out a player too much but from what I've seen, Paul Postma is not a bonifide NHL defenseman. I see other teams taking advantage of that on purpose in their preparation against the Jets. Our defensive play isn't helping our Goaltenders, however Helle does a lot of good things but sometimes controlling his rebounds can be an adventure. And I have to agree with a few others here, stop with the constant juggling of lines. Let it settle, chemistry can take some time. And stay out of the box. It throws off the flow of our game (i.e., keeps our scorers off the ice) and our PK really really sucks. Not good combinations for success. We clean these areas up (take less penalties, solidify our defensive corps, stay as healthy as possible, improve our PK, stay with certain line combinations) we get back in the playoff hunt. Easy smeezy.

Really? Not cool.

There is many things assistant coaches can do to get players prepared. They can go over individual player assignments, they can remind players of opposition players tendencies, weaknesses. They can remind the players where the soft spots are with other teams systems, they can help players with the mental part of the game (if that coach has that ability), they can sometimes be a broker between player and head coach if there's any tension that is affecting their game etc etc. A great coaching staff has a variety of different skill sets that can make a good team great. My experience is if you have a Head Coach that needs all the control, it's doomed for failure sooner than later.

I'm assuming Huddy takes care of special team schemes?

Game 32 : Slip Slidin' Away @ The Crude Oil Blues

I'm going to the game. I'm guaranteeing a win. Oilers might as well mail it in. I love the world I live in. -
Game 31 : Satan Stafford @ Burn In Hell
HardCoreBlue replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Living around the Oilers for sometime where I've seen players come and go, Stafford sometimes reminds me of a Dustin Penner type player. Loads of skill but has the Meh type attitude. We'll see if being on the fourth line motivates him to be better or 'meh whatever suckers'. -
Game 30 : NY Post @ Winnipeg Sun
HardCoreBlue replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Exactly, not only that we allow their D to move in from the point. Our PK plays a passive box scheme by collapsing in on the shooting lanes. Give them nothing to shoot at, in theory. Personally I hate it, I always have. Put Tanev/Little on the PK and let him run around like a waterbugs disrupting any set up by the opposition. Then when their tired, put Ehlers/Laine on. -

Regardless of what a lot of posters think about Stafford, no way do you make him a healthy scratch especially if you are trying to unload him (which I'm not even convinced the Jets are!) -
Hope you're right.
