  1. He wont stick in NFL...nope..never
  2. I'd prefer we didn't stand tried and true to this impeccable character thing..no issues past or present and actually employed some guys who walked on the edge or at times can be viewed as for a lack of a better term an assclown...because when you look at all championship teams they all have guys who are pricks..have issues...are dirty and stradle the line of common sense at times....the 5 years of having choir boys all throughout the club has won us nothing
  3. YEAH....But the CFL as the league can sit and have nothing going on..revenue in or out much longer than the majority of the CFLPA can...thats what he getting at...I doubt it comes to that anyway and just the standard media posturing, tho that being said the players have made concessions for years, and took a lot of things on the chin, and this time around they want a little fair compensation and treatment and have the best interest of their members now, and moving forward taken into consideration
  4. well...keep with the dumb rule tweeks...and trying to be innovative to hope in catching the interest of a new audience and the XFL will vanish just as quickly as it's first attempt
  5. Using the "Jones is a 5 yr vet unable to crack lineup " reasoning is foolish at best...Few if any Canadian DB's crack a starting lineup their first year or two..heck few players of any position do..Loffler took hold of the position when he did as Jones was working more as the boundary corner and wasn't taking many practice reps at safety...and last year..year 4 was primed to supplant Loffler and his limited skill-set, but was injured...but none the less he is coming into this year as a seasoned vet with more than adequate skills and athleticism...more than Loffler has to take over the role...stats be damned He will also allow us to mix up and use different coverage schemes and change the defensive look more than we could before, and that in itself will make us a stronger defense especially with what will probably be a lot of heat being brought from the Jeff's..Bryant and Neveis and Biggie...
  6. i dont think he started until into the season year two..supplanted Picard mid season I believe
  7. Goosen didn't start year one though..in this argument
  8. i wouldnt think so...and he isnt an impact guy either
  9. Shepley is as much a real deal as is Gray (which is hardly a lock to crack starting lineup)...probably to a lesser degree as Gray was looked at as a better prospect and did survive in the NFL longer..well actually Shepley didn't really survive there..Bladek yes may improve but he may not even be ready until labour as he got hurt right at the end of the season, and returning from a ACL rebuild is much easier for a smaller guy than for a big lineman..so for them to count on him now is a pipe dream. Also with their pop gun offence, and losing 3 of their big play makers on defense, they will be lucky to be a 4-6 win team...not to mention unproven coaching staff in the top spot and GM
  10. Who did they add to improve that O-line? Labatte another year older and declining..Bladek (who wasnt that good anyway yet) coming off ACL injury and may not be even ready..Clarke just..well sucks..StJohn who showed nothing isnt signed..their 2 American tackles are average at best...Blake is there but isnt a dominant guy by any means and isnt getting any younger and Shepley has shown nothing and is just a rookie who hasnt had live gamecaction since his last year of school. Factor in mush melon at QB and Roosevalt in a similar situation and that's a whole lot of issues.. Powell will not put them over the top and prob by week 8 or so will wonder why he signed there
  11. Sam Mills, Reggie White, Kelvin Bryant, Nate newton
  12. THE xfl though will follow a similar fate..maybe not as fast but I bet only one "complete" season Probably see a flurry of signings in the CFL though in the next few days...not earth shattering ones but significant ones in a few instances...
  13. did that league as well not state that they will not be signing players with criminal records/arrests...spousal abuse type stuff? basically any substantiated character flaws?...if so...he's out of that league as well
  14. yeah...if we add him to what we already have in the backfield...that would be as solid a unit as there is in the league...and he wouldn't break the bank so to speak either at this point
  15. I think it was a guarentee of 250 million...to help prop/sustain it if revenue wasn't keeping up...which it hasn't and he now realizes he is gonna be on the hook for at the least..the full 250 so he is getting ouuta dodge...don't care how rich a guy can be, but they didn't get that way from losing gobs of money with no real future return on the investment likely
  16. I am talking about Corey Washington...I think he could be an emerging talent this year
  17. money from stadium fees/rental...parking..concessions...beer sales ...tickets etc would go into the teams pocket..no?....thats why
  18. We could start the season trying it..especially if Simonese shows he is a guy who can play side..stretch the defense..work across the middle at mid depth...and play a wait and see if we can land an NFL reject, or if we can't land say a Mathews before then..If we don't get him I can't see us throwing any money at whats left out there..we will go with what we recruit. Adams,Demski, Woli, Simonese and whomever grabs that other import spot..be it Washington/Thompkins or Nelson as incumbents isn't end of world....or replace incumbent with a recruit who jumps off the page can work with Harris. Thompkins if actually used consistantly can give us what Dress did, if not more and be more durable and has more size For some reason I have a gut feeling that him, as well as Washington could be legit 2nd year guys who can give us options and anywhere from 600 to 1000 yards if we don't dink and dunk all year
  19. and he did burn 2 of the better cover guys in the league last year for big gains..so a season and now a second full camp under his belt after being away from the game for basically a few years should do him wonders
  20. yeah I looking for an expanded role for him and big things...He has the tools and the toolkit to be a ratio breaker type receiver in the fact that he almost appears to be an import talent physically and visually wrapped in a nice Canadian shell
  21. The NFL isn't really "behind" it...they show games sure, but they pay nothing for it, and don't put money toward production...basically it's free content/filler for them during the off-season. And they will never take it over and fund it as a feeder league as they have been there..done that and isn't worth their time or money..NCAA nad to a lesser extent the CFL is their "feeder" league and they pay noting for that..so why change the model
  22. yeah at that price...almost glad to see him go...but for 180k...would have been nice
  23. basically....I was not smart enough, or good enough to translate the two different games...in a nut shell so when he flops down there and shows he is average at best..then what?..His CFL exposure ruined his years and years of training?...what a doucher Hasn't seemed to effect many many guys before him..and many with lesser hype succeed and flourish
  24. BC is going to be interesting...a lot of change there and some high powered (priced) signings, but at the expense of depth and most likely on defence...so they will be a hit or miss team...probably need to score 30 points or more a game just to have a chance to win, not a recipe for success by any means and one or two major injuries to a top tier guy, and they are hooped
