YEAH i JUST wish the "Canadian" QB thing would just go away...there is a reason there are usually none...they just aren't good enough

Around the League: 2019 Off Season
I don't see the need for that...or why people moan and complain about no Canadian QB's...or having a need for them...why?..if there isn't one..let alone 9 around to put on a roster and be a player who can contribute, and contribute effectively then whats the point??..YOu roster a sub par player with no hope in hell of really amounting to anything other than say as a short yardage guy just because he's Canadian?..I have never understood this thinking and seems pointless and a waste of a roster spot and SMS

Hence no reason to pay JSK 140+K I bet we get same type of production from Wilson..maybe not as many sacks as I think the Jeff's will gobble up a lot..but I bet a 80 to 90 tackles..couple picks and a forced fumble or two to go with Biggies production will be just fine..

What's the big deal..the Canadian football league yes is Canadian for having payers who are Canadian but it's more about the different rules.. different field and all the different intricacies..and I'd rather start 5 canadians and have 5 just as good backups on roster to back them up as opposed to having a team with 5 (maybe) legit true starters and then some only there due to passport and backups who are in the same boat. All the while we let talent walk away because of it..it would make the product better..allow teams to recruit better imports and pay them better..and still be CFL ball. I know first hand of instances of potential real talent who were gonna come up..but then were persuaded and or talked out of it due to the fact they could be cut even tho they are better than a particular player solely due to the ratio..so they said eff it! Why bother wasting my time energy and health for that possibility. The so called purest who whine, and many "joe fan" probably couldn't even tell you who all the Canadians are on a team level..let alone the entire league..so who cares.. let the best compete but have a caveat that each team has to have at least X amount of Canadians developing on a practice roster

CFL Considering Resurrecting "Regional Player Protection"
My thoughts that the exemtion should be a player from your own city...regardless where he went to University...and in seasons where you may not have a local kid away at a school...you can claim a guy from a western school if you are in the West, or an Eastern school if you are in the east. A provision as well is that player should be classified as a 1st round selection and have to be payed relative to what other 1st rounders in his draft class get

CFL Considering Resurrecting "Regional Player Protection"
it used to be based on where abouts they went to school...or played junior

Bomber News: 2019 Off Season
I don't know of too many people who watch because the amount of Canadians...also most I know could care less about ratio if it was reduced..or totally abandoned...and I feel the same way and thats coming from a former "Canadian" by birth player. I prefer to see the best players play..regardless of where they are from to be honest, but that being said I would keep the ratio to some extent if it ever came down to a decision, and would be all for a 2 on offence and 2 on defense scenario as you would get the best of the best in the Canadian talent pool. I would also lobby for each team having to carry a minimum of 5 Canadians on their PR to develop. Don't think it is fair to the ticket buying fans to have to watch players like the Brock Ralphs of the world start on an offence when a stud American who can excite the heck out of a crowd, be cut loose soley due to ratio...grass roots ball would not diminish nor would Usports....it's no different in Hockey when they opened up the draft to europeans and Russians to get on NHL rosters...hockey in the U.S and Canada didn't wilt because the opportunities to play were lessened..all it did was make the quality of the NHL player exponentially better...and fans in Canada continued to follow their teams...same would happen in football...I would make an extra effort to come see a former Heisman candidate, or ex NCAA star player play than watching an unknown Canadian kid who played CIS ball, and not spectacularly just because he is Canadian

Couture has dressed for 54 games...sure first year he didn't see field much, but the last 2 years has has seen significant reps so he is more than ready...his only real kock was size when he first entered league, but has added about 20lbs if not more since....so size is no longer an issue

only reason it "seemed" to bounce back was the San Diego game as fans ther will turn out somewhat due to the spurrning by the NFL

Simonese I think could grab that outside spot..regardless of ratio...He has the skill set for it and the body type to succeed there...now after a full season on the roster last year, an off-season to digest things after basically being out of the game for the better part of 2 years he should be able to come into camp at 100 percent and just play his game. you seen last year he has the skill as he roasted 2 of the top DB's in the league and he earned his chops on the special teams too..and if it came down to a decision between him and Peterman to be on the roster, or grab a starting spot then the wise bet is on Simonese as he has way more upside and potential, not to mention being in a spot to be more impactful..looking forward to TC to see how much he has progressed

To be honest I think something like this is a long time coming....and expanding "viewership" and potential markets is a good thing in this day and age....it is by no means and was never mentioned as expansion to places outside Canada...just bringing exposure to the game, and as football itself is growing globally, and there are transplanted Canadians everywhere who would follow the league, if they don't already, as well as new untapped markets, with potential revenue...then thats a smart move If it also allows a way for a Canadian to develop if he can't crack a team out of college due to being just too green or raw, but is allowed a season or 2 to season himself and have another crack at it...well then this is a win win situation for all involved

gOOD NEWS FOR pIPKIN AND REALLY alloutte fans, as he is the better QB and would have been screwed having to sit behind Manziel

Bomber News: 2019 Off Season
Yeah I know..but Dressler and Demski played the slot role at same time..hence allowing Rose to fill the Dressler role
-
Bomber News: 2019 Off Season
Yeah...he is intruiging..but he is also a good receiver..and bigger than Dressler and could slot in that role and e effective. Also if we could work our ratio to allow for a DI to be used on an offensive player then there is the opening to get a multi skilled player like that on the roster The singing of Forde and somehow one of or both of Ackie and Bouka would gi a long way in helping our offence..and defense along with ratio flexibility

would like to see him stick and take over Dressler's role...nice article on him https://www.playerprofiler.com/article/larry-rose-advanced-stats-metrics-analytics-nfl-draft-profile/

Bomber News: 2019 Off Season
Maybe he asked for his release...maybe the Bombers contacted him at one point being on their neg. list and now he sees the AAF is a floundering cost and realizes the CFL may be a better option for him

That's just sad..and the "commitment" makes more sense...I'd be shocked if they completed the season...

they have to take what they can get to remain under cap...or risk losing him for nothing..they have no real choice in matter..

JSK can barely carry Soli's jock strap...hence no big dollar contract from us...Soli and Biggie..With Jeffcoat and Jefferson as your 4 main cogs upfront..good gawd...I'd be happy with waiting put an NFL cut, or going with a recruit, or just bringing in a proven guy like Tolliver...heck even Hazleton..our receiving corp, and offence skilled positions could use an agitating prick S.O.B in it's ranks

Around the League: 2019 Off Season
Looks dominant and good once you remove Thomas out of the starting equation..not good enough, nor required

Around the League: 2019 Off Season
Yeah that's the one rub..some injury issues...but then again was it just bad luck?..People clamoured the same way about Neuf but he hasn't missed a game in the last what25..26 games he started since 2017 and last year with play-offs Bouka would be an easy choice for safety, but also field corner too, and hey if we get lucky and sign him..say Ackie and Jones/Conteh prove worthy at safety we could conceivably have 2 Nationals in the defensive backfield or one at safety and one at sam, with adequate in game depth/rotation...You would have to think Bouka and Ackie would both be starters somewhere (Sam and Corner) as well as Jones or Conteh at safety...nice flexability...

seeing that....Walters should be in his ear...options to flip ratio...or help with ratio

I tried to mention that similar thing there...got the typical response...mentioned that the QB had the ball out of his hands the quickest with the dumps, and screens and hitch passes as well as ran fewer plays from scrimmage than the teams with better o-lines, but gave up a few more sacks. They couldn't grasp that concept reflecting in the numbers...if your QB on average has the ball in his hands from 1 to 3 seconds as the play develops on average, as opposed to a team (Sask) who's qb has it maybe 0.5 to 0.8 seconds...well logic tells you that you should give up fewer sacks...also they fail to absorb that QB sacks for the most part are not totally a reflection on O-line play, and works in reverse as well that lack of sacks doesn't reflect O-line play.

Will see as well as a soon to be (next month) 31 year old running back will do with that inferior O-line to Ottawa's with no aerial attack support him. Worn and beat down and largely pedestrian I bet, if he hasn't fallen off the cliff...as I recall hearing from over there that is what happens to running backs that age when referring to our "aging/fading" runningback
