First drive..need to make a statement

we play like we should....can....we should take this especially with the implications of a wim/loss We don't...come out flat......there is something seriously flawed...and yes I will pull out the coaching card again....because its a major problem if you can't get your team ready/motivated and dialed in...especially after a bye.....and hanging the onus on the room to "get it done" is a load of crap....coach the damn team Keys tho...line play...both sides...impose our will on offence and give whoever meets us in playoffs something to worry about. We have the horses in the lineup to pound a team....lets pound Dline...prob the best damn defensive front we have put out since 2019-2021...now do something with it...and again give teams something toworry about.....and if Jake takes lionshare of reps again....i just dont kno what to say...let the talented guys eat and get in a groove....plain and simple Play fast and clean....letting foot off gas to try and escape injury just leads to injuries, and shitty play...we cant afford to drop a greasy deuce here..we have a week off after this so bleed out there if you have to

I'd say Griffin has been in our top 4..5 defensive players all yr...

Actually Cole would excel there....he has real good speed like top 10-15 guys on team and he is probably our best sideline to sideline guy and knows his pursuit angles really well....plus one of our better tacklers, and can lay the wood too....His rangy physique would be perfect there and for what we do...or were doing (trying) to with BA...Cole would have been lights out but he was behind the "tenured-vet...coach's fav....guy's a starter until his legs fall off" ball so didnt get a sniff yup....he closes like a missile...and knows how to take the right route to do it...and hits hard...AND wraps up and takes the guy down....none of this flailing around looking lost and out manouvered like we have seen too much of

oh baby....and 3 active LB's....Griffin...and Nichols..Bonds..Ford locking things down...gimme that on a plate and soak it up with a biscuit!

100% I would hope/think the Hallett experiment in on some set's is scrubbed as over and over again he has been burned...exploited...targeted....like how many times do we need to keep going down that path? Even the dressing of both Hallets...is kinda poor...and isn't making us better....We be better served putting Karmoko in ...Charbonneau...even give Hubert or Samson some playtime.....with Bridges...one Hallett...Griffin...we have more than enough coverage if a DB goes down...especially if Karamoko was dressed And healthy dose of our import dline in various looks...Sprinkle in Cole and Ayers doing things with the 3 man front....hard to attack that

agreed....as it stands Thomas is just there in body and holding a place on roster...does little...offers even less moving forward..Schmeck I thouhgt would take a step forward but really hasnt...and we have Lawson coming back next yr...so really the other 2 dt's can be scrubbed for a versatile end type

appears to be the case and considering that we likely only declare 1...2 at most nationals on defense for ratio...there is literally no reason to have Thomas take any reps really....maybe 3 or so a half just because, but heavy use of Garbutt/WJ/Adams/Woods/Fox is more than enough rotation to keep them fresh, especially since we will likely do a lot of 3 man fronts again....which I like...but also dont....so getting bagged out won't be an issue...and really....the youth and athleticism of all the Imports up front can play snap after snap anyway....

Interesting lineup....MCI...ELI...Wallace....expect a lot of brutality on offence and a classic Bomber pound the rock game Loving the dline set-up....now just limit Thomas reps....well...minimize/eliminate them would be ideal but a lot of options there now....I expect Adams lined up in multiple roles...well should be Playoff preview lineup?....

as a db the fancy stats ....as in lots of tackles....knockdowns etc....are due to volume tossed at him.....you are gonna get stats in that regard...but whats the completion % against him...where ae those tackles....after 1st down gained?....how often is he targeted on 2nd and long....and whats the conversion there?...those are the telling stats.....and should be what are numb in the head writers should look at and publish for their case Why do think Nichols gets minimal recognition other than the people in the actual know,,,some media...other coaches....intelligent fans...he usually has low tackles...minimal interceptions....due to least targets in the league....but his completion percent against is likely top of the league Whats the Sask defensive backfield rank....vs the Bombers?......you would think the MODP candidate would play on the better of the 2...no?

yeah he is a MODP consideration for sure....but Ford has had just as good a seson....and on a better defensive backfield...which should factor in as well....but likely won't... i'd say better

Brady I think should be a lock for Canadian and Wilson for ROY......And really BO should also be the M.O.P too but again...the voters at times seem to have an agenda McCinnis faded bad...and really wasn't the force...or the straw that stirred his teams drink...over looking that due to early season tire pumping...and a team that declined would be a shame...border on crime Our football "writers" need to look at his volume of work the last couple seasons too...All-time great 2023 season stats for a Canadian RB...3rd straight 1000 yard season...2nd in a row leading league...pushing another 2000 combined yard season...those are numbers that would rival any elite RB the last few decades....he has earned it u read my mind as I was typing M.O.P relative to his team....if he was missing...we are really hampered...McInnis..Milligan..who are being pushed by media as front runners...remove them...not a really big loss...

I was gonna say...season up MCI a bit....Use Big Kev as a true tight end and not just as a edge blocker.....and brutalize a defense...over and over with the ground and short attack.....basically tenderize them for the big bites down the field....I'd also between the 45's just play snot slobbering 3 down ball and wear em out until they show they can stop it. Have and show faith in that defense that if they do get the odd stop....it's to no avail and they punting it back I like how Hamilton actually uses their big global guy Robinson as a prototypical TE....when teams know the guy is out there and and actual option in the pass game, as well as a run blocker...it opens thigs up so much more as he has to be accounted for by a cover guy

can be said what Kelly did...and others like him can cause life altering effects on their victims too when it mattered tho..Kelly looked like complete crap in playoffs...I expect much the same again

If we were to play a 80 percent 2 back set with BO and even another bruiser, and a true tight end type who is used on release passes and streaks and slants...and just beat the crap outta of a defense and took shots with the receivers when it was there....good luck with that with a lot of the undersized defenses

yup....I've seen in college some coaches being basically away from home...but in the same city from wed to sat night....and then are right back at stadium sunday morning

prep is on players yes...but also they need to be coached and prepped by coaches too....just assuming or allowing self policing...well gets a lot of times the errors you see.....preperation for a game or a scheme is much further than giving a page in a play book and saying "learn this at your leisure" hate to harp on it...but coaching has failed us at times with the belief the room was doing what needed to be done....if thats the case...why even have coaches?...right? yup...and then going over with the players every conceivable thing that may occur, or how a team may deviate....you just can't assume the players will do it themselves...and even then....especially with newer players....there is stuff they havn't seen or even thought of...I think some here don't really understand the coaching and install process and what actually needs...and should go into it

yup....when your good...elite....doesnt matter when you played...save for maybe pre 1970's as guys were significantly smaller...and less athletically gifted save for the odd guy But slap a prime player from 80's on thru into todays game...and they would fare just fine and they would also be training and taking advantage of how todays game is played...so safe to say they would be even better...Better training...equipment...coaching and facilities....certainly equates to better performance...a lot of the prime in any era have it upstairs too....which factors in huge you just touched on the point I made...yesterdays stars...in todays world...with access and mind set of todays athlete...would still be elite Stick a Stegall or the likes in the era where smoking and drinking all off sesson and getting fat and starting your training at training camp basically...would not be the player we saw.....maybe back half the season Charlie Roberts tho would thrive in any era...haha....lil bugger just had it

coaching issues despite all our success has also crippled and killed us Tons....3 guys were useless...and Mtl barely gave them a hard look and took away Lawler..BO...and knew if they went to Bailey..Demski...Schoen that they could get away with soft/minimal coverage and get to the ball and incur minimal damage Was blatantly obvious....and even the healthiest (Demski) who you could of got away with if you had 4 other healthy guys after his first sweep....i think was a sweep....could see he had zero burst or sxplosiveness.....as we let BOLO stand there all game...and could have dressed a vet like Ambles...who had played that yr....knows cfl defenses inside and out and would have known more than enough of the play book to be effective....and regardless, MTL would have to have dedicated attention to both him and Bolo and would have gave the others room to perform.....sad fact we barely lost, and part of the blame there wwas the defensive lineup...we all know what that was......fact of matter....That was all on coaching....and 90% reason why we biffed our second straight cup Just like in 2022...ZC was clear and obvious hurt...and not able to run the offence effectively....and he took every damn snap Thats where your coach has to have the foresight and ability to see issues and buck his trend of believing the starter is always great and maybe make a change....if not if for anything 1 series and let the main QB see what's going on from the sidelinesthis is a key issue I think....Osh puts too much faith in guys in room gettting the extra stuff done...and how we have came out in many games...how we have no answer at times in some and where we have guys looking totally out to lunch is an indication that the team isn't/wasn't prepared totally and that coaching was to lean....and when your roster isnt loaded anymore...well....
