  1. Stick.....a.k.a Juron Bolden
  2. yup...started strong...faded even stronger....the fact they resigned him is telling...must be desperate..that defense was right gutted...and the loss of most were average guys save for Woodard
  3. I don't watch and follows the CFL because it has Canadians in it...and that comes from playing ball as a Canadian on both sides of the border...I watch as I like the game and want to be entertained...could care less where players are from, but just want the team I root for be able to field the best players they can...do I want to see all Canadians eliminated...would it make the overall talent better if they did....100 percent, that being said, you would still have Canadians playing as the Talent is there, and they know the game. I like the idea tho of rewarding team and player who has been with same team 4 consecutive yrs to be a naturalized Canadian, but cap it to a set amount allowed per team...you still have to have X amount of true Canadians, and X amount starting...also think that the DI should just be regular roster players, and drop the DI tag and restrictions to them...see no point in it as they are paid same as they would as a rostered regular, and would allow teams to benefit more using them more liberally and improve over all play. I get it...a lot of people are stuck on the Canadian stigma and say they would stop watching if they reduced or more specifically eliminated the ratio, o well...see ya later then, but many if not most of those are the old relic fan, being able to roster more "name" guys who some of the younger crowd may actually know who follow college ball, may attract a new breed and younger fan base...which is what this league needs....catering and pandering to just the wants and moansd and groans of the over 45..50 crowd won't grow anything....just saying
  4. If he wants to be here..and we can sign him for sure u make that happen. Mourtada kicked well...yeah he missed but they were on line...straight...and solid. His alignment was out of wack...and yeah it was a hashmamrk thing...he was overcompensating for the wider angle...I look forward to see what this camp shows..and his kick offs were great...95 percent of them he dropped right inside the goal/ten yard line close to sideline....perfect placements....I know he punts too..just not sure how accomplished
  5. If he comes back...he automatically goes back to his spot, and Grey is the 6th....case closed
  6. It's also about delegating and letting team leaders control the room, and self police as best they can, and that also was something Osh and his staff/management have built here....step in when needed, and give and receive respect equally
  7. money is earmarked for him for this season....u can count on that...without having to cut someone
  8. yeah...as it stands right now we have the best line, and 100 % we go national at safety to break camp. 100% certain we have Desjarlais money socked away for any return this yr, hence why we didnt go stupid in free agency after we signed our key guys, and why Harris was taking a shave, because if anyone doesn't think he was expendable if he didnt accept that deal, then your out to lunch. If Desjarlais doesnt shake free this yr, you know Walters will use that money for some one who does
  9. beast no love for McGriggs??
  10. If Dobson is here, and Eli appears from the Abyss we are still stacked at O-line with all the returnees....now if Desjarlais shakes free at some point in season, and returns....we are crazy stacked, to almost being unfair....but that leads back to the solid management and direction this team is at, and the smart drafting and player retention. Same can be said about Kongbo...this is his last NFL stab, and if he shakes free...and returns which I cant see why he wouldn't...the flexability/depth and skill level on defense with our nationals is gonna be crazy good too
  11. our scouting pool, and network pretty much from last yr already now is firmly established...and thats why we have seen the fluidity of the roster and basically just re-loads, and opposed to starting from scratch. Also the organization too has become the first call from Agents with clients they are peddling, quality ones with needed tape for a one last NFL shot. The top to bottom professionalism and true "pro" environment and team culture is a huge factor in this. We had hyped guys before, but when u went to camp you could see the jump from college to pro was to big for most...last few yrs been a bit different, and this yr now we allowwd to attend camp should be interesting to watch...some real true legit prospects this yr to push the vets
  12. By guys I mean kid and youth sports...college......athletes I deal with and coach....along with their crowd of friends....not all athletic kids and 20 to 30 somethings are at the games
  13. Love that Rene pick and signing....
  14. NOT seeing that pop country as the major genre of choice with young canadian kids..nope....or with 40 and up crowd Go in any locker room in Canada and what are the athletes blaring...rap/hip hop and hard rock.... lot of entities trying to push that up....why...dont know....
  15. Maybe Bombers know something fans don't re: Eli..so maybe no need especially with Dobson likely in camp...couture and neuf with 2 of 3 spots locked up we could have Gray..Kolonkowski..Dobson and Eli vying for basically 2 roster spots..and to make it even more juicier maybe Desjarlais has told them if he gets cut..he's coming back to play ball and not do the PR dance hoping to land somewhere and never see field
  16. as a whole the NFL hasnt been more exciting....but the games that have been exciting are basically due to a lot of it being teams more apt to mimicking what CFL offences did wit QB's and having a more wide open mindset offensively
  17. Agree....TSN has to way up its game....sub par at best....half the excitement and interest in the NFL game is all the glitz and glam and bells and whistles...If u put a CFL game in front of that production and how they do a game, it would look/seem like a world of difference....thats a fact.....The league too, needs to hire, or create a content/marketing team of the new breed of Internet wizards, and promote and pump and create new and eye catching content...thats what will grow the league....not changing rules, paying global guys a pittance...and always bemoaning issues in media....maybe promote and add fluff...theres a thought Rules have been basically what they are for a century....and game was/is just fine...u dont do wholesale change...you augment what you have....maybe add to it...it's not rocket science
  18. I as well like the makeup of roster, and truly don't see us missing a beat. Harris was basically a part timer last year, and we did just fine, he had a big game against Sask in playoffs, but at his age, and declining durability those kinda games are going to be more the exception, than the norm....Our oline, returning players on offence and continuity from coaches down won't allow us to falter. Lawler was a stud, but also a 1 yr flash so far, Ellingson will more than replace what he brought (dude has a highlight reel of unreal catches too in case anyone forgot) and is familiar and has history with Zach, and I bet will be more consistent game in and game out....Bailey and Demski will keep developing and be better and this crop of new guys, along with Grant being back is a group that has me more intrigued/excited than any yr in a long time. Prukopp be no means a proven veteran, but he has shown he can move a offence, has experience, and I can see being a better fit in what we do here, moreso than McGuire did....tho loved McGuires arm and poise, but that wasnt a pre-requisite of what we do here, so I think that why he kinda just flamed out. Defensively, I think we again be just fine...Full yr of Wilson/Biggie/Maston already has us ahead of the ball even with Stove missing, but Sayles I see as a breakout star this year, and finding a gap filling DT to rotate in for 30% snaps isnt a tough thing to do...the loss that stings most is Kongbo and the rotation aspect we can do with him, and if he finally just commits to CFL he can be a beast, and ratio plus...I dont see him sticking down south, and if/when he is released, I bet this is where he comes back to....BA will be a loss till he back, but we have guys on roster now that seem to be a fit, maybe we tweak ratio a bit and go canadian there till he back, but with Rose, Taylor, Nichols and Glass here...all proven starters, and guys like Houston, and Miller back, both with full yr in our system, and some starts, and again...another strong solid group being brought in to compete...we ahead of where we were already from last year...and Free Agency/Draft hasnt even happened And when I look at a defense with the Jeff's...Biggie...Wilson...Rose, Maston and Nichols running around out there, I'm not to concerned with whom we surround them with...especially when it woill be guys like Sayles, Taylor, Thomas, Glass and whoever wins a spot...we hitting ground running for sure this yr
  19. Just setting himself up for more implosion and drama ..guy does not have the tool set to be a leader and top teir QB nor does he have the tool box upstairs either...or the mindset and mental toughness....when going gets tough on and off the field ..he has cracks all over....and to be honest is a lil whiny sissy about it
  20. Hansen was a very effective special teamer as well as rotational piece on the defense...if there was an injury issue in game he'd be more than adequate replacement seeing more reps. He also had more value than some first and second year Canadians and should be making more ..and I would go even as far as saying he prob has better contribution as a whole than guys like Gauthier and Briggs too...don't get me wrong both are great players for their role and can start in a pinch and take rotation snaps...but Hansen does exactly what they do ..plus has more impact when on defense. Too bad he is stuck in that salary pergatory and really should be rewarded as a Global if he can make more...and teams he groom and develop a guy to that point should be as well
  21. Nice to read tho that this year they want to get Grant more involved in the offence...couid be a dangerous guy getting the ball in his hands in the open field
  22. Yeah he was my coach and g.m for a yr of junior hockey actually...he always said I suited grass more than ice haha
  23. Agudosi as well....was kept around all yr and brought back for a reason...if the hashes are moved and while field is being used who wouldn't want a big strong 6'6" guy out on the outside?
  24. Riders are only really "elite" in their fanbase opinion...and a few media hacks...no real sizzle to.that steak there...
