  1. what's the ST only prospects looking like?...lol...
  2. among many others....our guys....nadda... Anthoiny Bennet...the 26 yr old playing against 18 to 21 yr olds...stupidest pick ever and his uselessness was easily seen...only one 's saying pro ready was our duffess staff trying to justify it
  3. How is that rushing tho?...it's developing, and assessing....and if you can get more value out of them over the 3 yrs even better. Other teams have first yr guys every yr making impacts...draft picks and recruited guys....Us rarely and even then...it's cause we had to play a new guy due to injury or defection....I can't even think of a player we played who pushed out a vet.....Thats how we got T.Jones...vet guy who got cut as they determined a rookie was better option...and he won R.O.Y...woulda never got that chance here..... Our coache's are quite comfortable rostering and playing crap too...so if the young players...National and Import are better...then that's a win Guys not getting a sniff at all too can wanna leave as well after those 3 yrs when they see counterparts elsewhere getting to play, or a lil tampering goes on and are told "hey you come here next yr...you will play"....then we right back to square one again Reps in a blowout loss or win are wayyyyyy more valuable and inciteful than running skelly in practice....or playing the part of the team we playing next week players we did it with Cooley one game as well...and saw nary a rep...I have no faith they will know what to do with Logan until shown otherwise Jones was used a lot on defense the one game....and was our best of the yr, and also the game coincidently where T.Jones picked up his play too, The fact we stopped using him on defense was kinda dumb...and our defense hasnt looked as good the last 2 games due to it
  4. you dont develop in practice...you need real reps...In games where the outcome was basically a non issue...and there been many....they should have got a lot of reps....but we risked our starters if for anything getting hurt in a lost cause....and we all know we can ill afford any injury Also it would make practical sense to allow then rotational reps here and there as well un a game ...we trot out other guys who in all reality do nothing for us and at times are a detriment...so really not trying your rookies...especially one whom was touted by many experts the most po ready guy in the draft
  5. haha....yeah I didnt even wanna bring up the offence side of things.....Cobb being on as opposed to Weitz or Thomas tho almost makes sense eh? But it's a really sad state of affairs that you depth receivers are those 2 guys, and that for the yr we have only had 1 guy on as depth...a rookie at that ....have sure dodged a bullet with not having 2 injuries on offence tho.....especiaLLY when we set out with a not ready Schoen and a guy in Demski who has been knicked up a lot the last few seasons...and as the only real threat now is gonna get beat to a pulp we just cahneg positions for them to make it seem like we have depth and coverage hahaha...Like Ayers as a dlineguy so people cant say we dress too few
  6. We have 17 lb's/Db's on roster....38% of our roster....yet only 8 see actual "regular" reps....and another gets on in a lot of packages...A Canadian and gets abused relentlessly...was Hallet...Lately been Kelly....and if we get an injury, the bulk of those remaining 9 guys should never see the field...and the ones who should to see if they can contribute and grow...(Shay/Smith/Ayers and Jones when in) don't get any meaningful reps....someone explain that to me And then we also roll with our worst dline guy likely on the roster getting the most reps not counting WJ and Vaughters...another head scratcher....and we wonder why we have issues at times, and any injury issues and we hooped with nobody with any experience...let alone trust
  7. Yup....3 Canadian DT's...pointless when one is useless really ....Weitz as well...totally redundant and will never see field other than teams...we have enough of those guys...we could have added Bailey for Thomas and had the same amount of dline guys...Ayers is not an effective dline guy and why they keep trying to make that happen is ridiculous...and kept on Peterson in liei of Weitz....rostered Cobb....gave Vibert some reps....and if game got oit of hand for the good...or bad tried him at center.....but Osh does the expected Curious to see tho if OC guy knows how to utilize Logan and have some packages with both him and BO.....Doubt ot tho... well we have 2 stud Canadian LB who deserve a shot to get some reps as a backup...So Ayers as we have this brain numbing idea to have him as a Dlineman...theres a way
  8. or...."yeah but" reasoning
  9. He has never had issues at coillegiate level snapping...and really here hasnt either...had a couple bad ones ....but so does every center. Don't think it's a trust issue really....More a coaches preferance and fact that if they swapped out them for each other Kolo couldn't do the role Eli does....and would be the worst 6th oline option So we are stuck, unless we just drop him totally and roster a different guy as the 6th took long enough...how and why he made it out of camp in first place was baffling...10 games in it took em to realize.....10 games of developing someone else wasted
  10. Lst in the Eli/Kolo debate is the value and how good Eli is in Jumbo...Short yardage and TE packages. We don't really have a big man who can do that, and have the athleticism to do what he does consistantly. Save for Adams on defence who could, but we dont wanna be doing that, only other guy is Randolph but you can't be moving piece's like that all the time to facilitate what...8...10 smaps a game....thats just plain dumb Eli is assignment sound in that role, is an excellent tandem blocker (but you would expect that from a center....especially a top ranked on in the Nation going into his senior yr) great at switches and different types of trap blocks. And is especially good in second level and lead blocking down the field, and finding guys Kolo is not....If he isnt squared up with a guy struggles to get a block, and even if he does, loses his guy way too easily....More times than not as well he gets lost...especially if asked to do a 50 or a chip and gets spun right around looking back at the play....huge no no and just plan bad, and is basically rendered useless in trying to re-engage and get in the play and is just a penalty waiting to happen.... I guess since we have such poor depth we suck, cause Kolo would be the worst 6th oline to roster, as he can only slot in at center, would get eaten alive and bullied at guard even more than he does at center, at could never take a snap at tackle....so really best thing to do is try eli there, and roster Vibert as 6th...kid plays with mean streak and attitude, needs reps.....And like you ay....Can't be worse and if it is....You can always go back to a bit less shitty lol you just touched on what I was saying before I said it
  11. as is your stupidity...say stupid things...expect a stupid prize
  12. yeah I know....and that was just as dumb then as it would be now yeah that makes the most sense....and be nice for the staff to see what Bailey has....he does play teams too. J.Jones got a lot of reps on defense the one game...and was prob our best overall defensive performance of the yr....and now neither he or Ayers barely see's the field...JJones was also a key blocker on the Valval TD's as well....and has 3 yrs of CFL experience so to not use him is puzzling
  13. Stfu...and really...when's he been given any start at center?...do tell He had one initial bad series at guard in a game due to injury replacement..then settled in Is he no good cause u with all your experience and a few others say so? I mean seriously I watch oline play. Can see the blocking schemes used and where a lot of breakdowns occur from coaching over 25 years...and playing post high school for 8...and u? Just cause Osh does something doesn't make it the right or best either...he has full power to put whomever and wherever he wants a guy...doesn't mean its gospel tho..and its been very apparent too...guy ain't all that and a box of cheetos
  14. Could...but 3 cdn DT's...is that best use of assets? They were both on roster together prior to Lawson injury
  15. Well....gm doesn't have any say in game day roster or who and how guts are used...so....doing the math.....
  16. Wonder who draws in with Hallet out
  17. it's cause save for the odd oline guy...we draft soley looking at ST only guys cause we figured we were good across the board...and we aint...we were....but we let them get past their usefulness but still clung to them
  18. He's great in the big packages....havn't really seen him get a chance at center...some pre-season but really whopdeedo....throw to wolves and see, and then yeah agreed....if they both are the same and bottom teir....both shuld be sent packing a week after the Grey Cup...That goes for several other spots too..we need a roster reset and a bit of a movement away from the past....cause the last 3 yrs is proof the past is the past and aint coming back with some of these relics we cling to
  19. coaches probably also know Korn and Thomas are not particularly good either....explain that one lol....Tho Korn got the pine and rightfully so....Scmecker for now has earned that 2nd Cdn DT spot...But now lawson is back to full practice one would think he should bump Thomas off roster...we don't need 3 Cdn DT's....2 Dt's and an edge guy like Bailey would make more sense.....but will we see it?...doubt it...we either gonna waste a spot on another DT that really isnt impactful, or Schmeck gets bumped off...which would be a crime...Scmeck also has yrs of ball ahead of him....and upside....Thomas has neither....he's just basically in the way
  20. I bet Wallace...Eli...Even Schmeck would do better.....Kolo has started to have more and more bad snaps...and he is utterly useless after initial engagement...he usually misses his block....loses the block...or gets roller skated into the QB's lap....and in second level....yikes.....I dunno how we can really fix that this yr....But something needs to be tried if for anything just to see.....but we wont Nobody would have thought Speller would look like an all-star but he got thrust into action and was lights out in a Cup run...If you aint trying to get better...what the fcukk you doing?
  21. Of course there is....The talent isn't even comparable across the board...let alone the coaching and the training I have seen Prep school teams in Cali and Texas that would beat the pants off most the CIS teams and it wouldn't even be close. The best of the best Canadian kids if able to finish off their highscool career at a U.S Highschool...and land then hope to land in a FCS or FBS program.....and even then very few hit the ground running as a starter, or legit contributor....there are a few that can but most are way behind the U.S counterparts in terms of development...just way it is....It's like how Canadians used to be in regards to Hockey...tho that gap is quite narrow now if not even Don't get me wrong...there are guys in CIS that yes...after a couple yrs of pro training and teaching can for sure be all-stars...There are very few who can step in as a rookie and be that tho And really you could fill your whole back 2/3rds of your CFL roster with NCAA and even Juco guys in lieu of the Canadian guys who should never see the field on offence or defence and just there to run around on teams and masquerade as "depth" and they could take meaningful reps on your offence or defense
  22. cant use that tho as a metric...Teams put time and money into their own recruiting and scouting....and won't dump their guys for others...thats how you also lose your scouting staff (Cyril Penn says hi) I can see the thinking of that....but really it's a never will know...and for a lot of positions in the CFL players are pretty comparable across the board talent and skill wise....it's coaching and instruction that sets then apart....to even get a invite to even a CFL camp you gotta be able to play and have talent....and brains So perhaps a lot of what ails us when we dont have a vet lineup in it's prime is our ability to coach and scheme effectively and get guys in right positions to be sucessful?....could very well be....Osh himself has said he at times has no clue whats going on in the locker room...and lets the guys sort things out themselves....maybe he needs to be more hands on now that he doesnt have the troops to self coach/police.....just spitballing but that is not out of the quation and making up a yarn
  23. can't earn it if not given the shot....Practice isnt a place to earn anything really Kolo didnt earn it...was given to him by default when Couture went down and we had nobody else ....has he earned keeping it.?..hell to the no....but there he is...game in and game out
  24. Part of problem in my opinion tho is the HC ability to actually evaluate and identify the talent too....he values some things that don't translate to success on the field, and for whatever reason feels the need to play excessive Canadians at times...and in key spots when not needed If a scouting staff brings guys in and the HC chooses to keep and roster possibly inferior guys....then that's not on the scouting staff...Part of the issue here is after some yrs of futility, and almost getting canned Osh got some success with a loaded lineup (provided by the G.M and scouts) but then clinged to way too many and made some odd roster decisions as well and we never really re-loaded or had actual transition pieces being groomed...and where we actually did...we let em walk....did we give the coach based on that initial success too much leeway in who he wanted...and didnt....and the G.M allowed it?....was it the G.M was lazy and had no balls and didnt see it, or question things?...I think It a bit of A...a bit of B....and Walter's should have played Boss a few yrs ago and sat his coach down and said....sorry if this isnt to your liking but we moving on from player A...B...etc... And the part of the not playing up to snuff...well do some better coaching perhaps....or actual coaching....and if your staff beneath you isn't getting things done, then as the HC replace them...too much back slapping....buddy buddy stuff here....Thats a good thing to a point but you also have to be cut throat and cold too at times..... I think it was the sum of the parts really...Buck started out well....but ZC was also a better QB then...with better pieces...when he started to degrade, and we had to use and integrate a lot of new bodies...and some guys with minimal to zero experience...Buck couldnt adjust his playbook, or his calls Hogan now....is limited in what he can actually do, due to lack of experience and being a first time OC at the pro level....also think he has a bit of an ego that needs to be put in check....couple that with the worst receiving group in the league...and a less than 100 percent BO...well we getting what is to be expected....crap sandwiches He should have been 6 gamed minimum right out of the gate...if not 2 times....we likely set him back ...a lot and doubt he gonna be anywhere near what he was the first 2 yrs this yr The fact he is braced up now....not a good sign at all and really....rostering him again is probably a really stupid decision...gonna hand cuff us....and him and takes away a healthy individual from play time/development sadly...I totally expect us to do this....
  25. nobody is off the hook...been a major crap show since January...no foresight....real plan...no forward thinking....zero succession in place for most part anywhere...lot of hopium tho Walter's tho is the guy with say in releasing him...who knows if Osh fought it and still wanted him around or not...I tend to think he probably did based on Osh history with players and his reluctance to even bench a guy....let alone admit as soon as it apparent a guy is not good enough. Doesn't want to appear as if he wrong or made a mistake....and will keep pounding square pegs into round holes over and over and over....history shows us this Is it an ego thing?...who knows....but it's a serious flaw None the less....the success and the flops and shitshow stuff is a collective of Walters and his team....and Osh and his....and of late...been more flopping and shittin round here....have they ran their course...an epic failure this yr to me says yes and change in order....this cant continue and be allowed to fester
