  1. just saying...if its part of your lifestyle...and what you do day in and day out, then it's irrelevant...If a person holds a fulltime job, and has that training lifestyle, then continuing it in the off-season is just status quo and no extra burden on said person...If anything it's easier as you dont have to contend with weekly practices, meetings, and the weekly game and grind and the recovery post game
  2. I work out pretty much every single day...plus train others...and have a full time job...same as when I played...it's a lifestyle...and if u make it yours then yes u are getting paid X amount of $'s for 6 months
  3. you all be surprised what I know...but since its so nauseating I will stop posting.....the humour of many here has more than satiated me for a while
  4. Roll your eyes all u want @Jesse but it did Osh doesn't make the decisions on getting rid of staff....plus he has a hard enough time sitting and underperforming player...or replacing a useless one with an actual one with use and upside
  5. Nothing wrong with Jeffcoat...we need a rotational end....we had none on roster but 2 guys on PR who would have done well....In my looks at practice I think Garbutt is the best of him and Haba....and Haba is really good, and if he was allowed on the roster after Injury, and allowed ro grow and learn....would have been a key piece down the stretch...but alas...we know why that didnt happen. I'll say again as in a previous comment...Cole should be given every opp to lock down the Sam
  6. Other than Lawson who is a stud....the other 3 Canadian lineman mentioned, as well as Bennett have next to no upside, and really if we draft well, recruit well and maybe get a savvy free agent pick up or pull off a trade like how we got Lawson all 4 of them should be kicking stones after TC...And truthfully if we keep BO we don't even need a National Dline man other than a Backup to Lawson to meet the ratio if we choose to continue the Kramdi thing, and or a Canadian takes over at safety....or maybe a corner spot. Lawson had moved ahead of him in 2022...but was basically pushed behind Thomas for no other reason than discussed on here ad nausium...I wont say why as to not ruffle the feathers of a certain poster lol Cole should be at SAM....would thrive there...one our best sideline to sideline guys...can play physical, and run with RB's and slots....and can tackle....3 things our SAM position lacked
  7. guys who can actually become contributors on offence/defence that are not just position holders
  8. he needs to take that choice right out of Osh's hands....to be honest bite it...u chime in too with some repetitive narrative, everyone does....and Osh has already said...he see's no issues with roster and some aging , and non productive players...so yeah...its alredy reared its head
  9. double yikes!!!....Sure let them come and battle...tho thats just wasted TC roster spots....but if he....and not sure who else was referred to...but say a Briggs..thats an epic fail...with recruitment...and most of all HC decision making...No way a guy like that..Briggs...Jackson....Schmeckle...Bennet....Kolo...should even make the team let alone active roster....Bennett I know was a last yr draft pick...same with Schmeckle but showed zipittydodah...and also aren't the future...There are also others who are on the list of if they make game day roster...its a fail...big time
  10. looked like he did during the 2019 Cup
  11. thats what happens when u give skilled ballers a chance and dont block them with past their prime garbage, or guys on roster serving no purpose...we have a couple other guys who would have been impactful if the HC didnt play fav's and roster people for unknown reasons
  12. yeah...their first and second...the odd 3rd pick u mentioned.....you should nail those and have starters from there...its after that our penchant to draft 1 dimensional guys....and that dimensuon is no real chance of being a contributor outside of teams...we have a glut of that now....but on roster no ral depth behind any starter...Augustine wasnt drafted either.....by anyone actually...was a free agent pick up after the draft by 2 teams before we scooped him off the scrap pile
  13. we crapped the bed all yr on how we used and allocated our DI's and yes.....we have 1 player basically at top of the salary food chain for his position (ZC) and thats it...a couple others in the upper echelon (top 3-5 at their position) but also not breaking the bank either...we have the SMS to sign who we want without issue Some of our vets who are top wagers on our squad if re-upped...will re-up for similar....if not a pittance more....some could be back for less too...they wont break the bank ...it worked last yr and easily will this yr 2 guys will need substantial bumps..Schoen and BO....Schoen u get done, and I sure BO knows what the max should be...anywhere, and you offer him it...or close to it within our cap and if it doesn't float his boat....so be it...he's the easiest position to replace on an entry level and have that player be impactful even as a rookie We also will be shedding some foot soldier higher salaries....or better be....and also some vets who don't fit the plan for 2025...Thomas...Kolo..Briggs...JA....Darby... We also need to draft actual players who can step in and be productive on offence/dfence and stray away from this "special team" only player....that mantra has now got us in a bit of a hole as we lacked adequate in game, and even short term injury coverage, and also the fact our ST unit was one of worst in league should also make change inevitable. Any athlete who is pro calibre and a starter before the CFL and entering the league can play special teams...if they cant...why they even here? The player who obviously isnt pro calibre....but.....could contribute on ST is a poor draft strategy....look at past 10 yrs of drafts of the players other teams picked up, that we passed on who contribute as actual producing player, just to grab a guy who jumped out on teams, but offered nothing much more than that....after our first couple high round picks...we have brought in a lot of slugs and plugs....
  14. Ford can be pretty good...He needs some decent coaching....a co-coordinator to work with him, and and tailor certain things to him, and be in the right environment...Not sure if it's optimal with Jones leading the team, but I can see him doing quite well with pieces all around him....mainly coaching and guidance
  15. Yup...Lawler is already in the fold...but u make Schoen priority #1 on offence...if other pieces fit fine...but if 1 has to be expendable..so be it and like mentioned earlier import RB is the easiest and most seamless position on CFL to fill..and entry level American and one as his backup is way less than what u will have to pony up for BO and way less than BO and a capable backup like JA behind him...fiscally it makes huge sense. A guy like Carey...Brown in Edm...even Mills or Logan in CGy would have excelled here last yr with the same usage...could possibly eclipsed what BO did..nothing against BO but he is replaceable for way less..and at times we stated 8..9 Canadians so obviously wasn't vital to maintain a ratio
  16. yup...Bond was in cause we had absolutely nobody...nobody in the system...and poor depth....that wasn't intended i agree
  17. Other teams start American tackles with import backs...I dont recall a full-time starting guard being import with Harris and Bo tho We don't even need a Canadian back to meet ratio as it is either...we just have chosen to fill that spot with a canadian
  18. You should be able to start a rookie RB easily....especially one who was a starter in college and has already bounced around NFL camps...Running back in the CL is the position that translates seamlessly in CFL... I wouldnt call Jackson an exceptional circumstance either...that stupidity hand cuffed us big time We dont need to start multiple rookies....If BO decides he wants the moon...and paying him right screws our SM than a rookie RB will serve us very well, and if the scouts do their job can find a guy to give exactly what BO gave us, if not more with an explosive back...trust me there are tons out there. I have never liked tying the ratio to a Canadian back to be honest....it requires too much else to make it work...well work seamlessly and it kind of rapes your roster elsewhere...Losing BO is least of my off-season concerns
  19. globals are on their own payscale, and yes make less
  20. Yeah...it does all add up....and if BO wants 150k more which is ridiculous and puts him over 250k which will never ever happen...anywhere u walk away and run with a first yr import for dirt cheap and his and JA' s salaries alone go a looong way to resigning who we feel is vital
  21. Or actually build a team...he's been provided a team his whole career..can you say Claybrooks...this could be Claybrooks 2.0
  22. Would not be sad to see Houston go...or sign for bigger bucks up here elsewhere...take him right out of the equation and no worries that Osh will roster him over someone else more deserving..hopefully that happens in a few other positions too..take the choice right out of his hands
  23. And KSB is not a smooth receiver...or even an adequate route runner...he's getting a look based on exact same thing as Lenius...body type...and that's it...
  24. Nice to see someone else sees the flaws ...all the good traits aside..they are glaring impactful flaws that need to be addressed from someone above him...who is his boss to have them corrected...
