  1. why doent Ott and Mtl have a labour day throw down...they spitting distance from each other.....Or do the smart thing and slap a team in Quebec City as Quebec is a hot bed of football, and theres the natural rivalry....and let Ott and BC slug it out
  2. Player evaluations have already taken place...generally do the week after your lastgame, along with exit interviews....that will be of no issue and the other offensive assistants know just as much as the OC about the guys
  3. and smothering the life out of an offence, and constantly putting a QB on his hiney and you cant do a proper job undermanned, or with poor choice in manpower history has shown that...when we decided to "try a new front"...Right after we traded away Wilcott's and dumped Mack...we havnt been the same.....and even then we were not like we were as we hadnt really replaced Stove/Nevis....and Sayles and lost Kongbo and Hansen.... stats can be misleading on various levels....but was obvious in many games we lacked upfront pressure and run stopping ability...especially with a mobile QB because we had a gassed front 7....Or a few guys in that front 7 that were basically just place fillers
  4. and to correct that immediately will take big dollars....raping other areas of the team...and thats only if any quality top notch o-line guys make it to FA...and that in itself is rare....and Oday has shown he has no clue in drafting any, or finding any imports...Adding a new HC and a QB with potential...but not proven by any stretch isn't turning that turd around
  5. drop the notion a coach leaving will "bring" players with him.....Players will go where they feel comfortable, and where they for most part get paid...same with staff....especially now in a cap restricted management world No player on offence is gonna follow Buck to Sask just cause its Buck there...why in hell would they?...unless they got wayyyy over payed, and even then most would decline...which has happened already it's a lot harder to see what defenses are doing from sideline..thats a given...And taking on dual role as a fresh faced new guy is a bad move
  6. good to see that the man in charge of who comes to camp isnt as eager to fill a TC roster with aging players...thank christ payers rarely talk of a team pres or GM for most part....but it starts from above, and many have glowingly talked about how Wade treats them, and their families...you must hae missed it....and runs things as good or better than most NFL orgnizations
  7. and we seen it way too much during the reg. season in 2022 and 2023... if he was to interview...I would hope they asked if he intended to do the same ol same ol...or open things up a bit and be more adventorous....and that we want that in an oc
  8. built with players provided to him tho..The pillars of whatthe team wanted, and type of players they were going to target came from above...and I sure with Osh input, but lets not get carried away thinking he was the sole architect...he got on board in the interview process in what we wanted to accomplish....and now maintaining it, tho it's pretty much self maintained...he's even said as much. Harris was coming here regardless who was coach...Bighill wanted to go to BC but they had no cash...we did....Mike Miller was scooped off the scrap heap from being cut.....so he was just happy to sign anywhere I would think
  9. Fixed it for you so you can see how the roster yes in effect was a reason as to your excuses as to why we lost
  10. cause there are a buttload of crappy teams as of late....ran really poorly....so our deficiencies aren't over exposed...u all keep clinging to past sucess....key word past...we havnt won jackshit since 2021...and thats a fact
  11. ring yah...name on cup no would have got a ring...same with guys on PR..They get rings too...and injured list
  12. he also doesnt get it...a vet player...or one who has seen things 1000 times likely doent blow that coverage...the winning TD was a factor of a green compared to Rose or Lawrence DB in there Having to shuffle 3 guys when Parker got hurt to actually field a defensive set, and one of whom who could barely run or have any explosive movement is also roster management issue...and cost us....If rose was dressed for Jackson...Biggie...then he slots into his normal spot...BA stays put...No Hallett....and Cole or Clemets is in Biggies spot...thats roster management if I ever saw it....
  13. good luck...hahaa...has happened for 4 yrs now
  14. and you know that how??... Losing Wade or Walters and his team would be more a blow....and it takes a lot for me to defend Wade as I use to just hate the dude from back in the day, but totally respect him for the turn around and creating what we have become....and now have nothing but love and gratitude for the guy
  15. totally a horrible decision...and if any other coach in the league did that in the Grey Cup and played 4 guys who were clearly injured and shouldnt have been on field...in a Grey Cup we as a forum would have had a hayday chastising and laughing about it....same with due to all the injury issues and depth deficiencies dressing a fullback in lieu of an actual impactful player....if anyone says they wouldn't they are full of crap...But since 98% like to hang off Osh's nutsac here and defend everything he does to a fault...it was no big deal...over blown...axe grinding...personal dislike...call it whatever you want but it's kind of a joke...the dude effed up...badly with his roster...in the fricken Grey Cup....and many here said eventually this real bad flaw was gonna kill us at worst time....and it happened....plain and simple...it happened...personally I didnt want it to....but I saw it coming....and wasn't shocked
  16. I like osh as a coach and dont want him gone....his many pluses out weigh the minuses...but if he were to leave we wouldnt fall apart, and we would be just fine...The Bomber Culture and how things are done, and how players are treated are a product of the Winnipeg Blue Bomber Football Club....not the Mike Oshea Love Shack.....things flow from top down...WADE and Walters said this is what we want...this is what we gionna do...Can you as our HC do that?....plain and simple, and whoever comes in after will have to follow the same succesful script....
  17. bringing up a person//player///coach deficiencies or bad traits isn't axe grinding. its constructive criticism or pointing out the obvious....of all the tire pumping and axe grinding of Osh, any one of our coaches could have took this team to the GreyCup if he had to step away this yr for say a medical issue...personal reason...etc....There isn't something sneaky secretive he doing that no other coach would know....He's a good guy and players like him...players like it here as well and not just cause of him...Prob more so due to Wade and Walters...the good coach is cherry on top. To much weight is put on "players coach" tag...players will play for whomever, and will run through a wall for hard assed disciplinarian coaches too...see in first hand as they also know that coach will put his balls on the line for the team and get you where you need to go...and they follow....and also know a job isn't a right...it's earned and that can garner more respect than the Mr Nice guy I favour my vets and feel good stories..I have seen that philosophy fracture and divide a room as well...even though the team was killing it and looked tight thats not really true.....2 of 3 players were shocked and one was totaly unprepared....sure they thanked coach for opp..what they supposed to do...toss him under bus?....but they knew they wouldnt be very effective. Bailey as well I have on good account shouldn't have even been playing...but put it all out there...sure thats a great thing...love guys who have the guts and mindset to do it....but a coach should know also where and when to draw that line for the greater good.....we failed there....and starting lineup issue is totally a roster management issue...it was mismanaged on a gut feeling and blew up in our face....if our best possible replacements were on roster and were a hobbled ineffective Bighill....Bailey..Demski and Schoen who couldn't run 80 percent of the offence and the portion they could kinda run was ineffective and in some instances didnt even garner attention by Montreal defence and we fielded probably our worst DB before other healthy guys, and had guys like Bennett just stand around all game then our depth is terribly flawed and very weak.....
  18. and who's fault is that??....MOS for not having an adequate PR and depth on roster. Ambles and even Alston would offered a heck of a lot on the active roster for the Grey Cup. Col and Clements taking Biggies reps and adding another giy...be it a dlineman or a DB would also added way more to the roster for the Grey Cup Taking off Jackson and adding again....an actual contributing force on defence would have added a lot to the Grey Cup roster....Maybe utilizing the Nationalized American would have helped in what we did with the game day roster for the Grey Cup Our coach hand-cuffed us worse than any game this yr, in a yr where he consistently handcuffed and he saved the worst of it for the biggest game of the year...thats facts and factored heavily into the loss....the 2nd one in a row now He'll eventually get it...
  19. Thats why I think Cole would be ideal there...he can come down and brig the boom, and he can also run and cover guys doing screens and crossers, and is probably one of our best sideline to sideline guys, and part of reason why I would like for us not to go Canadian there, but if we did, Ford would be better suited than Kramdi as he has a way better skill-set for it.
  20. it would be a move to show and lead by example.....I bet my left nut tho it never happened...and I like ol lefty so very confident he took no cut
  21. I don't think Lapo will be an option if Buck goes to be honest.....and like mentioned earlier...if he does go....he doesn't get the play book...and any new guy won't be overhauling a totally new system....verbage will be changed, and some wrinkles added...some plays they may not particularly like removed, and input will be used from QB's still here, as well as play makers...Its really a total non-issue Smart move...Sask...Oday.......now go think about what you just said and maybe have a drink hahahaa
  22. was the ol Manfred Mann blinded by the light deal....shiny stats glossed over repeatedly being burned for long td's and big plays at wrong time.....all that was...I work with DB's a lot in camps....and Houston by far had the worst overall package of skills and fluidity on the team....Parker prob had the best, along with Nichols, and oddly the kid we cut partway into the season ADS....
  23. poor Buck....but good on the payday for him I still dont see how u think Brown will follow...Buck may want that vet in Harris....and Brown may not want to risk losing the shine off his star going into a total unknown rebuild and becoming the next Arbuckle...Franklin..Jennings Get a defacto "co-ordinator" and let the QB take control...with some input....Worked for decades and seeing as ZC is such a student of the game, and had input into creation of plays and schemes.....let er rip....sometimes people put too much emphais on a co-ordinator.....also they are times given several options to run based on what the see pre-sanp....its not call a play...run that play by any stretch
  24. Nichols....Holm...Parker..Rose..BA and Lawrence should all be brought back to compete....but have to be heads and shoulders above any new hungry guy....jobs need to be actually earned and then maintained after earned...or its see ya later....especially from an incumbent who has already shown streaky play, and questionable skills. To be honest we should allow Houston to go to free agency...he had some picks ya...but by far was the worst tackling DB we had, gambled way too much for the picks to actually be meaningful in the whole body of work and in all honesty we can fill that role with an entry level guy and get equal if not better all round production. We need to search out and roster db's with true cover skills and physical presence.......cause any DB can play that soft let em eat us alive underneath blanket coverage...but when rubber hits the road we have suffered with guys who can't switch the game up when it's required. I'd hope Ford is extended/resigned to keep him here and give him the SAM position...Kramdi can be that ST captain and solid in game backup if needed, but he has some flaws....gets confused with lots of motion around him and his tackling is a lil suspect. He also turns 27 in December...so who even knows if he has already peaked. And we can go with just that one spot as a Canadian on defense, so we could beef up the front 7 quite nicely and have adequate Canadian backup with Lawson...Bennett if we land him, which should be a no brainer to come back home...and play with 2 former teammates.
