  1. Yes. They expire right after the last game of the season. As we saw when we lost Norris to the Als.
  2. Earlier in the season while he was a healthy scratch he had stated that he was frustrated about it. Nothing in his attitude or play reflected that afterwards though. I think there is a possibility he might be disgruntled but I think the probability is pretty low.
  3. Great news about a couple of quality guys. Best of luck!!
  4. Always a pleasure to hear a good news story about someone kicking cancer's ass. Even better when it's a devoted Bomber fan......CHEERS!! (raising my mug right now).
  5. I don't think there are great number of fans who would be happy with the result of our management disclosing everything openly and honestly to them. I am sure that part of the reason they work behind closed doors is to keep the portion of the fan base that thinks they know everything but doesn't have a hot clue at bay. I really don't want our management to have frank and open discussions with the media and fans because I don't feel that either are fully equipped to fully understand what they would be told.
  6. I would not object to Newman at safety, Leggett at Sam, and Sears at HB replacing Johnson..
  7. I think towards the end of 2009 we started using the shotgun as well. However, that might have been after Cartwright took over the offence.
  8. Lefors played under one of the most outdated offences to hit a CFL field. However, his accuracy was also INCREDIBLY bad. I think it was the 2nd game in 2009 and in the first or second quarter of that game he was so rattled that he threw five straight passes that missed the mark so bad that it was beyond belief almost. They were all short patterns, the receivers were open, and he skipped 3 of them a full 5 yards before the receiver and overthrew two quick outs sailing the ball 15 feet over the receivers head. I still remember that to this day because I was literally shocked at what was going on. I thought that maybe he was playing with a broken hand or something. He was ultimately the biggest victim of Kelly's policy to NEVER use a shotgun snap no matter what. He just couldn't get the timing down and he wasn't quick enough in his drop back to see over the OL.
  9. I love Demski but if the BB ended up with Groulx and Addison Richards with their 1st 2 picks, I wouldn't be upset. No doubt. Like I said earlier, there is a lot of talent that can help us on the draft board this year. I am still hoping we trade back for another top 25 pick. It wouldn't be a sexy move but it would be smart.
  10. Calgary 38 Hamilton 22 Cornish- Most Outstanding Canadian McDaniel - MVP
  11. How does it measure to Mike Kelly finding Craphonso Thorpe and Lavarus Giles?
  12. I'm kind of torn on Stamps. He hasn't had the balls thrown his way like he usually does but he also looks like he lost a bit of a step. Could be that the injuries he's had need an offseason to heal....could also be that age has caught up with him. Not sure if I roll the dice on him for big money,
  13. He played 14 games and compiled 813 yards, which is a pace that puts him at 1045. You're right on that. Too bad we're talking about a guy who only played 14 games because he was benched for a month due to a lack of production. A guy who got 42% of his entire production in a span of 8 quarters of football. Not worth 200k in any sense. Moore's 2013 season was far more impressive as far as the entire body of work goes. Agreed. Jackson's price range will be more in line with what Carr got from Edmonton when he left here. He likely goes for 130-140k factoring in the rise in the SMS. If he were to hit FA, I could see the Bombers taking a run at him. Anytime you can supply your QB with someone he has established chemistry with it's worth looking at.
  14. Whoever gets him will be getting a good one if they are able to polish him up a bit. Very dynamic indeed.
  15. Agreed. I do think he has a shot at being number one despite that though for the following reasons. I think that he is a bit of a project player with HUGE upside. He would fit in Ottawa perfectly as they continue to build. Ottawa can be patient with him, while providing him plenty of opportunities to play while he is being developed. Not sure they pass up on his potential upside. He just seems too good a fit for them. They have plumbers and journeymen already in Ottawa, they need an infusion of raw talent. I very much agree that the combine will paint a clearer picture though and that a lot of the talk about him is pure speculation sprinkled with some homerism right now.
  16. I know we're all salivating at who we could potentially get at number 2 but I wouldn't be heartbroken if we traded further back into the first round if it could get us an extra third rounder. I think the first 25-30 spots of this years draft will yield good prospects. I'd like to have as many picks as possible in the top 30.
  17. Yea. After high school I had a really good friend who I went to University with, after a year I decided to go to Community College. For the next couple years every time I saw him he would act really conceited and tell me how I screwed up and was wasting my time. Told me not to come asking him for a loan when we got older. Needless to say, we didn't hang out much after that. Some years later, I was a successful business man, and the phone rang. It was him. He had just been laid off from his sales job at Eatons and the bank was about to foreclose on him. He didn't ask for a loan.....but he came hat in hand asking for a job. LOL. After a heaping pile of crow was eaten, and a HUGE apology I hired him and I am POSITIVE he would be the first to agree with your post.
  18. When a guy has 18 touches - 93 yards is a very average number.
  19. Imo, this rumor of a rift is just a creation of the Bomber front office that allows MOS to fire Etch without looking like he abandoned his friend. I would be surprised if the entire organization isn't in complete agreement that Etch needs to go. MOS gets an exit strategy for Etch that allows him to move on without crippling the friendship. This is done all the time in the business world. Managers hire family or friends thinking they will do well. They crap the bed and need to be fired. The manager goes to the owner with his problem of how to get rid of him and the owner says "tell him/her that it's me that's firing him/her and that you are really upset about it but your hands are tied...wink wink". I've done it dozens of times for my management teams over the years, It allows your manager to maintain balance in their personal life and still get the necessary result. It is very good for morale amongst management when an owner will be the bad guy for them when personal or family relationships come into play. Not saying 100% this is the case here.....just that it's a possibility,
  20. There were rumblings to that effect.
  21. Migs is over at BB.com these days getting the gears over there too. lol. He is actually pretty good at distracting our resident homer over there. Two ultimate positrons going head to head. Popcorn and a beer and let the good times roll.
  22. I doubt it. He left the dual role on the advice of his doctors. However, Wally may have fired Benny VD but I think Washington is a strong contender for HC in BC.
  23. I would think that Thorpe would be a longshot.
  24. I get it that people like Khari around these parts. So do I. However, I find it awfully ironic that the people clamoring for us to get rid of Bellefeuille want to replace him with a guy that runs an offensive system taught to him by Bellefeuille. I like Khari...but why replace an offensive system with a near perfect carbon copy of itself.
