  1. This obviously one the Regina reporters asking him this, (who else would care) and Mike Reilly gave a P.C. response instead of laughing in his face. Everybody knew Reilly to BC was a done deal since mid season of last year. I guess the best way to end any speculation of tampering by Hervey is for Reilly to say he was open to offers though.
  2. Vince is crazy to do this again.
  3. They won't see a valid point being made because they refuse to even consider it. Ignorance is bliss over there.
  4. Micah Johnson is a very good player, but Jefferson is an elite playmaker. I'll take Jefferson every time as well because his individual play can win games for a team, Johnson will not provide game winning plays. Last year we were two or three plays away from going to the Grey Cup...that's what it boiled down too. Walters went out and got us a player that might provide a couple of those plays every game. Johnson just clogs up the middle and forces a team to go in a different direction, You can game plan for Johnson...like Bighill, you can't game plan for Jefferson you just have to hope he's not on the top of his game.
  5. Rider fans like to point out that their team surrendered the least amount of sacks last year and therefore they have a great OL. Anyone with half a brain, and who actually watches the game with a touch of intellect, knows that nothing could be further from the truth. They surrendered the least amount of sacks because their ENTIRE passing game was throwing the ball within 5 yards of scrimmage. Quick hitters. It is impossible to get sacks against that, but it is impossible to score consistently that way too. The reason they did that is because in their first couple games it became abundantly apparent that their OL sucked in pass pro. They want to put all the blame on McAdoo for the offensive struggles and game plan but really when you have an OL that is like swiss cheese and a QB who gets concussed when someone looks at him...what choice do you got? Will be much of the same this year.
  6. Mr. Roosevelt feels they should throw the ball more. What a shocker. There is, however, a reason that the RIders "aerial attack" did not throw for more than 3 yards at a time. They had a glass QB playing behind an OL that could not protect him. Pretty simple really. Kinda like what we did when we had Buck Pierce, 3 step drop and throw for 4 yards. I don't see what has changed. If McAdoo wants to stretch the field he'll be doing it with Fajardo by game 3.
  7. Sucks to lose a talent like Evans to another league, but rumor in Cowtown was that the Stamps were getting closer to re-signing him. This will weaken them.
  8. Expect a call from Dundon's representatives soon. He's a little busy right now trying to figure out how to get his GM in Carolina to trade all his defence men away but I heard he is intrigued about your new PONZI league.
  9. Polian set up a pay structure that he knew (or should have known) would bankrupt the league, in hopes he could get some household names to attract fans. It backfired big time and now they have Looney Dundon running the league.
  10. For those that don't know, in NHL circles, Dundon is generally regarded as a complete wing nut. He is the laughing stock of BOG meetings. He has outlandish ideas he wants the NHL to adopt to make the game "more exciting". Think choreographed dance performances after every goal. Mark my words within a few weeks the AAF players will be dancing. He already has the Hurricanes doing it.
  11. There player payroll is almost double that of the CFL.
  12. It would be stupid if he actually gave 250 million up front. He didn't do that, he bought the league on a 250 million dollar "commitment". All that means is if things go swimmingly he is willing to bankroll the league for awhile until it gets traction. Make no mistake, if the league continues to flounder he will get out LONG before he spends 250m on it. Dundon may be rolling the dice on this league in order to get his name on the list as a future NFL owner. IF he can turn this dog around it will get him noticed in football circles. If he can't he will be out of dodge faster than you can shake a stick and long before he spends 250m. At any rate, look for wholesale financial changes to this league in the near future. Dundon is going to clip expenses at an exponential rate after this season....maybe sooner.
  13. Doesn't take an accountant to figure out that with a payroll of roughly 7 million per team and attendance in the mid teens that this is not financially feasible. Especially when there is only 5 home games and no TV contract.
  14. I would guess the same. The Riders need more than great D...They need great D that provides scoring. Johnson wont give that.
  15. You do realize the Riders ran a 3 man front for 18% of their defensive snaps last year according to CFLdb.
  16. Roh>AC Leonard. Only in Saskatchewan would they hail the signing of a below average DE
  17. Maybe for the first third of the season until the geriatrics on your DL run out of gas like last year. Hughes was like John Chick in 2016. Great first half then ultimately the wheels fell off. I suspect Hughes will have his first sub 10 sack season. He looked done for in the 2nd half last year. I think father time has caught up.
  18. Man Ripper you Rider fans are out to lunch. Between thinking that Micah/AC constitutes an upgrade over WJ/Antigha, and being in complete denial that WJ left for a better chance to win. Why the one year contract you ask? Fairly obvious....because he left money on the table to come here so we get the discounted price for one year. Jefferson himself said he left money on the table for a chance to win the Cup. If you were a player would ODay,Dickenson, McAdoo, Shivers, and Collaros inspire you? Probably would cause you're a Rider fan but anyone else would think I'm outta here.
  19. As part of the settlement of his grievance, the Riders retain the rights of JWL for 2019.
  20. Used to be commonplace...now it is tougher. If you have satellite at your house you can take your receiver to the lake.
  21. The marina. Still there..still good.
  22. No it's 680 CJOB. Maybe it's elevation or something...I don't know. That shocks me.
  23. Could just be an assumption by Dunk. I have not heard of him having other visits, particularly to Winnipeg. We would have heard something about that.
  24. Toronto did everything short of putting a gun to his head to get him to sign before he left town. My guess is Toronto is off the board for Walker.
  25. I can pick up CJOB at my cabin in Paint Lake, just south of Thompson, that's 7 hours North of Winnipeg. You're telling me you can't get CJOB 2 hours out? Odd.
