You must have been gone a long time then.

I grew up camping at Watchorn Bay every summer.

Well that grouse looks like they took the Lundar goose and splattered white paint on it's belly. Maybe Eriksdale can go to Poplarfield and steal their King Buck and offer some definition in statues between Lundar and Ashern. That way when you fall asleep in Lundar and wake up half way to Ashern you will know the difference between the two pretty much identical towns by which side of the Buck you are on..
-
Those aren't ducks those are the Melsted brothers.
-
I thought they were the same place?
-
Were you humming The Deliverance theme when typing that? Should have been. Ashern....it's where Saskatchewan people go on vacation.

He better be, because he may be the GM most behind the 8 ball this offseason.

Imo, the best course of action for the Riders would be to secure a starting QB and build around that. It would be a disaster for this coming year for sure, but in this league you gotta have a QB. They don't have a Chris Jones defence to rely on, although Riderfans would have you believe their defence won't miss a beat, and really there isn't a ton of talent on that team that hasn't already walked away. Might as well throw some serious dollars at a QB and begin a rebuild. The Riders don't believe they need one, but they really do. Chris Jones was a fantastic HC, but terrible GM. He got more out of that group than anyone could have expected. If they don't get a QB they are a 6 win team this year and will be until they find one. Get one this year and start rebuilding around him and their might be hope for next year.

I think Hodge's "sources" are sitting back having a good chuckle over how gullible he is right now. No safety in our league past or present is worth 200k per. It's just an unrealistic number and to me sounds completely fabricated. Let's not forget that this is the same guy whose 'sources" told him we were going to fire Richie Hall last offseason, that we would not re-sign Stanley Bryant, that we were hot and heavy after Bakari Grant and JC Sherritt last year, among other whoppers. He is a high school teacher in Neepawa with a blog and a penchant for making stuff up. Nothing more.

Hodge talks out his butt most of the time when it comes to FA.

Not banned that I am aware of?
-
No...it was not just like that. I disagree with your banning over there, but you didn't help yourself out either.
-
Yep. Very familiar. CRF should take note at how fast a busy forum can become a ghost town.
-
Migs attempting to start his own forum isn't exactly a step up. Also, different time. Over the past 3 years a lot of sentiment has changed over at Riderfans because of the shenanigans of the Jonestown Fort defence. Many quality members were squashed over there for failing to toe the line, and there are a ton of members over there that are not to happy about it. When I was over there, before the site crash, I used to get PMs from many members of the forum apologizing for the behavior of some of the more prominent members.
-
The mods and their handpicked half a dozen internet tuff guys, bully every member over there into submission. Support their views or face the ban hammer. I have never seen such disrespect and abuse of a forum by it's own moderators in any forum...anywhere. CRF is just completely blinded by the traffic it creates. Doesn't care that most of his forum members lost loyalty to his forum. Somebody will start a rival Rider forum someday and will take a ton of his active members with them to get away form the likes of Rider Stronson, BSD, VoR, and the other bullies. When they all leave the clique will eat it's own. When I was a member there a couple years ago, they would constantly try goad me into banning offences that violated their own code of conduct....and it was the mods doing it.

Craig Dickenson is a pretty weak hire imo....but he was probably the best one under the circumstances. No chance in Hades I would have given him a 3 year deal though.
-
Dickenson is about to discover that a HCing job is year round and not 9-5. Excellent. I LOVE the 3 year contract. Guarantees a minimum two years of sub standard HCing in Regina. I would not be particularly enthused about this hire if I were a Rider fan. I think CD is a very good special teams coach but his work ethic made that his ceiling. Wonder if he waits until March to report for duty.
-
Rider fans are flat out delusional when it comes to the skill of their own players. Last year on Riderfans they were trying to claim that they had the best LBer corps in the CFL. They didn't even have a top half of the league LBer corps.
-
I see what you did there. Somehow sounds less nutty when a Bomber fan says it though...go figure.
-
Posted by accident.

I'm not sure many from Sask....at least the ones that actually understand football...would agree either. Mind you that's not too many.
-
Craig Dickenson will not be in attendance but will provide live footage from his GoPro as he tackles the fresh powder on the black diamond runs.

What seems to be lost on the Rider fans, and even some Bomber fans, is that Paul Lapo wanted, received, and agreed to an extra year on his contract. No one put a gun to his head. 2 year contracts are now the norm for coordinators. Why? Because they wanted multiple years of GUARANTEED salary in exchange for their signature. Lapo could have gone year to year on his contract if he wanted the freedom to leave whenever a job came up...but he didn't. He took a two year extension because that would guarantee his salary beyond one year. I hardly think it's fair for coaches/GMs to sign multi-year deals for GUARANTEED money and then cry foul when they are actually asked to honor them. We would honor the contractual payment if we had decided to move on from Lapo. If the coaches around the league truly want their freedom to move, it's quite simple, give up the GUARANTEED contract as a sign of good faith.

Reynolds shòuld have been expecting that. Jones has always been a me first merc and has a long history of jumping ship and leaving his employers in a bad predicament. The Jonestown crew discounted this possibility because now he worked for the Riders...but Reynolds shouldn't have. He erred grieviously.
-
All joking aside, the Riders faithful are upset at the situation but the blame should solely rest on two men Chris Jones and Reynolds. In 2015 these two men engaged in back room negotiations during the season in order to completely blindside a divisional rival. This stunk so badly the CFL had to create new rules to make sure it didn't happen again. For the first time in CFL history other teams now needed league approved consent to hire a coach away from another team. Rider fans cackled with glee at how they screwed over the Evil Empire. 3 years later the man who tampered with Jones got a heavy dose of karma by trusting him. Gone was the savior because Reynolds was too stupid to get a cutoff date on Jones NFL out clause. Now faced with needing to poach another coach got an even bigger dose of karma when the rule created because of his cheating bit him in the nads. Rider fans are still crying foul...but the rest of the CFL says ..HA HA Karma beyotch! Hows the tampering and acting in poor faith working out 4 you now?
