  1. The Cons are not alone in asking for an inquiry. The NDP, BQ, and Greens also asked for one. I don't pretend to know whether an inquiry would be good or bad, nor should anyone else here. However, I do know that it was presented as a motion in the House of Commons and was passed by the majority. That's how democracies work, and not calling one despite the majority passing the motion is a gross abuse of power. Exactly right.
  2. I think it's pretty obvious that this was a sham with a predetermined result,
  3. It's a strawman argument to suggest that because all G20 countries have high inflation we should too. Canada is a resource based economy and are in the unique position of being able to battle inflation much easier than the rest of the G20. Yes, global effects are giving us inflation but it is being compounded by out of control spending by the federal government as well, and a refusal to open up our own resources to help drive down inflation. It's many factors but those throwing their hands up in the air saying the feds can't do more are giving the government a free pass.
  4. We likely have no SMS room, and we just drafted Bennett.
  5. He went on the Pederson show a few years ago and absolutely trashed our teams management and some of our players as well. It was gross and I lost all respect for him...so I will say again..screw Mo Leggett. If you don't agree..so be it.
  6. Don't tell that to Wall Street.
  7. It's not interference it's regulation for the greater good. No different than any other restrictions applied to various markets. We just had a multi page discussion about Manitoba privatizing liquor sales, and the opponents to the public only WITH price fixation call me socialist for this? My goodness, our current liquor sales system is about as socialist as you can get outside of communism.
  8. Yep. We need to stop the churn of profiteering on existing housing stock and make it easier for developers to build.
  9. Screw Mo Leggett. Hope he's happy playing arena football for Mickey D coupons. Classless jerk.
  10. I agree. I haven't attended camp in a few years but when I did it was comical how little attention the local media paid to the field. They would stand around laughing and visiting for 90% of the time. Then they get upset when no one wants to pay for their "coverage"
  11. Whatever. I have never stated that the government should not regulate some aspects of the free market. I guess that's the centrist in me. Are you against the idea...or just beaking off. The prices of real estate and the rental market require government intervention. That much is abundantly clear. De-incentivize this and incentivize new development instead. I am not sure why the Liberals are being so dense on this issue.
  12. Not sure any government can do much about interest rates, what they can do is a lot more to ensure a reliable affordable housing market. Interest alone isn't keeping first timers out of the market, super heated real estate markets are. 1. Put caps on house flipping profits to cost plus 10%. 2. Limit rental incomes to cost plus 10 for the first 5 years of ownership.
  13. Bob Irving CFL HOF..just a guess
  14. Just comparing on field not off. Cornelius seems to be much more emotionally stable.
  15. Corny, could become a really good QB if he can get some accuracy in his throws. He runs well, makes decent reads, has a great arm....just the accuracy thing. He is kind of like Cody Fajardo with a better arm.
  16. LOL. Hyperbole much. I agree. I thought is was stupid when this all started back in the Al Gore days, and now it seems even more ridiculous each time it is trotted out. It is nothing but fearmongering of the democratic process by sore losers.
  17. With the kids, and an otherwise busy life, I just finished BTOW after only 6 years...lol. Picking up Tears of the Kingdom today for my Switch....I'm good until next decade.
  18. The issue on this isn't that MOS with held info, or that the press couldn't get the info, the issue is that some here felt entitled to that info and were criticizing that they didn't have it. I suspected we will get something along those lines about Grant, even if this might just be a paper move. If MOS doesn't give reporters that much, I would say it is very safe to assume this is just a paper move to get to 75 because there is still two guys in camp they want another day or two to decide between.
  19. It is all about how MOS handles it, but that's not the issue. The issue is that some fans want more access to players personal information than we should realistically expect. I expect that MOS will comment on Grant's suspension but we are not going to get the reason why, nor should we expect to. He will tell us if/when he expects Grant back and that's good enough for me.
  20. Nah...I'm sure our talent is fine. You have to watch in order to form an opinion though, and the local media huddles up and shoots the breeze instead of watching. Last year not one media guy was discussing Schoen until the final few days of camp.
  21. MOS is not going to talk about in house business. It's just that simple and people need to get over that.
  22. If it wasn't for DTon and a couple tweets a day from Bauming we would be getting nothing from the mainstream media.
  23. Exactly. We heard more from the press in updates when MOS jr was having coffee than we have heard in the entire camp about other young up and comers. Same thing last year. We never heard a thing about Dalton Schoen impressing until late into camp. We used to get daily articles that told us who was looking good/bad/mediocre/old etc along with camp stars of the day not too many years ago. Now we are scouring the bowels of the internet only to find out MOS jr. almost caught a ball.
  24. It's not OSH getting a pass on this site, It's understanding that a big part of why players love him, want to come here, and choose to stay is that he keeps things in house. His cone of silence is locker room management and it is 100% the right approach. It's nobody sharing information of a personal or in house nature in our entire organization and that is exactly how the players love it, and one of the reasons they love our franchise.
