If Greaves is back on the OL and Sears still injured, I think you have to look at inserting Suber and moving Johnson to CB (rotate Bucknor in by moving Johnson back to HB) Rotation of Thomas/Anderson/Turner has gone well, Teague Sherman is getting better and better. Bucknor is decent but gets thrown to a lot... fresh legs would help.

As long as we remember how to tackle... Might be able to work on Breaux/Stewart - if Kelly is back...

I like the idea of this thread... but I don't really see it as 'the bombers changing the way the league thinks...', more as an evolution of Cdn talent and the CFL. We are only playing these four guys because of injury, they did not win starting spots. That being said, this is a credit to Walters' scouting system and O'Shea's coaching imo. I mean, if we had drafted some decent top round talent in the last few years, these guys would not be getting a chance. Hammie was high on Bucknor too until they got Courtney Stephen. Either way, the days of 'traditional' non-import positions are gone...

Either way... end of season stats are what matters with Etch. Teams will have lots of film by Labour Day, then we will find out just how good his schemes are... His M.O. has always been a second half slump.

Our offence seems to have drifted more to double tight ends and RB blocking schemes over the first games... we need a Joe Smith for the game MB is calling now. Maybe Anthony Allen is the answer... 6'1, 220-230... Suber for Allen?

I do like the fact that MB kept the run game involved... even if its not working, you still need to run - otherwise, teams will just key in on the QB

This guy is a huge find - With Leggett coming over the top, Bucknor had one tackle last night instead of being picked on for the whole game. Just reads the plays really well, helped out Sherman a few times too. Although Sherman is getting better every game, impressed with him as well.

That Bryant Turner sack was a thing of beauty. I think Anderson blew through the line untouched very early in the game as well

I'd probably give Grigsby another week or two... but why not try platooning Aaron Woods? We know he has good ball control and can catch a ball in the flats... Need to rewatch the game but I didn't see us running outside a whole lot last game aside from the Denmark play

I'm a Grigsby defender but that is not good enough. I will say a couple times he was set up - the biggest loss, he was handed the ball and the LB was right there... If we hang Grigsby out to dry, it is time to hang Knapp out to dry as well. He was the weak link tonight on the OL tonight.

Decades is a bit much... its only about ten years ago we had the best receiving core, top OL and one of the best QBs in the league And then we hit 10 years of going Winnipeg cheap and hiring buddies... so I agree, I like this structure

I'd have to lay that one on the call... when you know you have a suspect OL and a QB that has some issues with checkdowns, going shotgun on second and short is a bad move. Right now, Edmonton's playcalling is over-estimating Reilly's ability right now... he may grow into it though

I can see a Suber trade a lot sooner than January... Didn't Lawless just write something about OShea trying to instill a winning culture and after one loss, he suggests a rebuild...?
