You talk like all-star weekend is some iron man competition... Helle hasn't played a real game since Thursday - Hutch is playing tonight then flying and then playing the best team in the league... makes zero sense.

Hutch starting seems really weird... Maurice rides Helle's hot hand all season and then plays our AHL starter against one of the best teams in the league. Doesn't sound like Maurice at all. Guys do not need 'rest' after All-Star weekend - hope there isn't an injury...

I'd just like to see him get a shot... He was injured most of last year and I think you could get him on a low cost contract with incentives assuming Sask releases him - backup RB contract with major incentives built in... but maybe that's the $100k contract he's got already

I didn't see anything earth-shattering from Flanders as our 5th receiver last year... I'd rather see a Canadian in that spot and strengthen our ratio I think there will be two Cdns on the market that are hybrid REC/RB potential - maybe Sask keeps LaFrance who knows...

Its relying on past glory instead of giving better offensive players the shot Hendricks has been terrible on shootouts for 5-6 years now.

Answered this in another thread - I just don't like Maurice's 'hunches' - they never pay off... Hendricks in the SO because of something he did five years ago, its the equivalent of Thorbs up on the second line for 'sand' Pretty minor stuff - Jets were completely dominated in that OT period and shouldn't have even made the shootout anyway

His shootout days were like 5-6 years ago - its a good example of how sometimes Maurice rides his vets reputations too long and thinks a bit too much Should have been Connor or Ehlers out there - just stick with your best offensive players and don't get fancy

I'm still not a huge fan of Maurice... things like OT and Hendricks in the shootout... ugh... still many of the same lapses, but they get the big saves now I think the biggest difference this year is the emergence of Trouba-Morrissey Just not having Enstrom and Stuart out there in key situations makes a big difference That being said, its easy to see more positive in Maurice than negative now - he's got the team really forechecking and backchecking, I'll give him that and that's pretty huge

Crazy talk to let Wheeler walk - the team took a leadership hit after Ladd walked and can't afford that again... I say you go all in for the next 4-5 years as a contender Your ideal term is three years at $6 million - that should see you thru Copp, Connor and Roslo's RFA deals

CFL really needs to get the 'option year' back or some equivalent where players can try out for NFL teams but if they don't make it, their CFL team retains their rights

Matt Hendricks in the shootout... on a team full of scorers. That was a great game but man, overtime is scary.
