  1. I must have missed where I said it was a joke to me But hey have fun with your nonsense and trolling. Vote twice.
  2. What buildings?
  3. Expandable in what way? I have a feeling I know what your answer is and I will gladly retort. Expandable in what way?
  4. 60 days over four years? Wow, what consequences... I knew a guy here who did that though. Served weekends for awhile. When he finally got his license back he went out celebrating, drove home drunk, got busted. True story. Another instance saw his room mate come home, hear moaning coming from the basement and assumed the guy was getting laid. Nope, turns out he fell down the stairs drunk and broke his leg. Addiction sucks. Hopefully Sydor learns his lesson.
  5. I agree with you. Hold on, let me grab my pot of gold and money tree and Ill meet you to discuss an expansion plan. Ill meet you at Timmy's. Ill be the guy arriving on my unicorn. But seriously, where would you expand it? Up? Across Portage? It has a pretty defined foot-print. As I said, the builders wanted to have the second level hanging over the street but were denied by the city. Im not sure that would have allowed more seats or just wider seats or more amenities. No clue. But I do know this notion that they "should" have built it bigger rears its ugly head every so often by people that dont know any better.
  6. I don't diagree with you Goalie. I'm disappointed on the Cons to a degree. But the mistakes I see come with being in power for a long time. And people naturally gravitate towards "change" when the incumbent has been around awhile. But the rise of the liberals is less about their policies and more about a turn away from the NDP That's a win in my book...to a degree. Liberals are lesser of two evils. I'll save a couple hundred bucks in tax under the liberals so it doesn't change my life. But I will laugh heartily of Harper wins. I might vote this week. And it will most likely be Cons.
  7. @charlesadler: Seat Projections: #Liberals 134, #Conservatives 119, #NDP 80 http://t.co/j54RP1LKmU@CBCPolitics @SiriusXMCanada #elxn42
  8. It could happen... Trudeau already proved he could whoop the best the Conservatives could throw at him. Trudeau wouldnt even know what to say to Putin if he could even get a conversation with him. And Trudeau is the type of guy who'd ask for Putin's autograph, not chastize him.
  9. Good turn out in advanced polls usually means motivated voters. They can be motivated by the opportunity for change or motivated to preserve the status quo. Which of these two scenarios do you think is most likely playing out? As I said in the very first line of my post, "change"
  10. Were you going to pay for it? Where would you have put it? Because there were requirements for government funding. I have an idea, why doesnt True North just build a 50,000 person arena at Portage and Main. They can buy all those buildings and tear them down to make room. Then it will be future proof. Oh thats silly? So is any suggestion of what they "should" have done in 2003.
  11. He was careful to say "they" let them make the film they wanted but "they" was Disney. And the "them" that made the film they wanted was LucasFilm. Abrams did as Kennedy directed. Which is the way it should be. JJ is talented but sometimes these guys with talent think it means they can write, direct, produce when it means they can maybe do one of those things. Star Trek 2009 was decent as far as a "reboot" but STID was awful. And Trek 3 (Beyond) could go either way. They fired their writer and director (Orci) pretty late in the game after he submitted two stories. And the new writer (Simon Pegg) recently said the studio refused to allow them to see Orci's scripts. There is some oddness going on.
  12. @CTVNews: Trudeau says he would tell Putin off 'to his face' if he becomes prime minister http://t.co/z1jL6mi7xE#elxn42 http://t.co/jj4N9o1GsY Awwww that's cute
  13. Latino Review: J.J. Abrams has confirmed that he has the final cut of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. The long awaited installment has had a few bumps in the road behind the scenes, but Abrams’ enthusiasm during his Vanity Fair interview is contagious. Abrams reveals that Disney has shown nothing but respect for the brand throughout production. Abrams states: “they let us make the movie we wanted to make” This comes as a huge relief to those who felt that the brand would be Disney-fied, but Abrams statement puts minds at ease. Abrams added: “I cannot say enough about how Bog Iger and Alan Horn have understood this thing that is now part of the Disney company. They’re not doing anything other than, I think, an incredibly smart thing, which is letting Kathleen Kennedy — who is a remarkable person and producer — run and lead Lucasfilm to a place where I think it wants to go.” Despite Abrams gratitude toward Disney, there's word that he and Kennedy asked that the release date be pushed to May 4, 2016. This request came before and after Harrison Ford’s injury on set, but Disney turned it down. A May 4th release date would have been huge for fans, but I guess Disney is lost on the inside joke. None the less, fans are grateful that Disney took the back seat and let Abrams and Kennedy take the wheel on the project. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is set to be released on December 18, 2015, with a running time of 136 minutes. ***Interesting. There were rumors early on that JJ wasnt getting along with Kennedy over JJ being used to having carte blanche and KK not giving it to him. Which, if anyone has seen the Star Trek movies can attest, is a great idea (not giving JJ full reign I mean). May 4th release would have been cool but I can selfishly say the sooner the better...
  14. Too bad this city not build for the future. How can anyone who seeks out a sports forum like this still be under the mistaken impression the MTSC is either too small or the city was short-sighted in building it that size? This has been talked about to death. The city actually insisted the arena be built to the current size. True North wanted a smaller one at a time when they had no desire to pursue the NHL. They wanted a "palace" for the Moose that was significantly cheaper than what they got but Glenn Murray held out city money to make sure it was built this size. Thats why its also very, very cramped. The negative on the city's part was they did not allow the the arena to build over-hanging the streets on either side, supposedly because they didnt want "tunnels" (even though they have allowed it now for the Convention Centre). Some people seem to think that the Jets generate the same revenue on 15,000 tickets as some of these giant arenas generate on 15,000 tickets and it's not so. I believe Jets are third highest ticket price in the NHL which means 15,000 tickets here is equal to 18,000 tickets in other places. But it also creates a huge demand. The Jets could sell out 18,000. But we have a 15,000 seater so they sell out every game and the price is higher and the demand is greater and we have a massive wait list of people who pay for the privilege of simply having their name on a list. I think we're fine. If you want to talk about planning for the future, talk about where the next arena will go in about 30 years. My vote is Portage Place in some sort of development/swap deal.
  15. Scorpion looked interesting but since its produced by Bob Orci (and Alex Kurtzman), I knew it would eventually disappoint. Orci is one of the worst hacks in Hollywood and a jerkoff to fans as well. Huge undeserved ego. Watched the first two seasons of Once Upon a Time but I broke under the weight of the mythology. The gf still watches it every week though. Gave Brooklyn a shot last year and it was atrocious. Just not funny at all in my humble opinion. Caught a few minutes of it last week (or the week before) and it hadnt improved...lol I watched Daredevil and will probably watch the Marvel Netflix shows but Im not into the DC ones. They seem awfully hokey and they dont matter within the continuity of the films so it just doesnt seem worth it to me.
  16. Speaking of kids watching movies, I watched Return of the Living Dead last night on DVD and decided to look it up online for some historical perspective, which got me reading about the original Night of the living Dead. It came out before MPAA ratings and was debuted as matinee showings where many kids saw it (like 6-9 year olds) and were traumatized! On a related note, in Return of the Living Dead, there is a 1-800 number on the side of the canisters that contain the dead from the first film that is a US Army Emergency number. I called it last night and it connects to "America's hottest chat line". There's your morning useless trivia.
  17. Generally, they say advanced polls means change. But how much of it is also just the changing methods of a younger demographic? From my own social media circle, Ive seen a lot of advanced poll voters and its not like these people have to vote early to vote against the Cons. I'd certainly say it doesnt bode well for the Cons but I would say its not all "change" voters. Its just people who live busy lives voting when its convenient. Plus, being a long campaign, there are probably people who want to vote that are maybe tired of the election and once they vote, it's out of sight, out of mind.
  18. Change is coming. Oh well Get ready to hear how the liberals terrible policies are all Harper's fault. Lol
  19. Trade buff before everyone realizes how often he isn't as good as everyone thinks he is
  20. I didn't see the game but if the fourth line is already back to playing that little we're in trouble.
  21. Playing to the gun crowd is really desperate and pathetic.
  22. Funny how the anti trade people hve their experts and the pro trade have theirs. But you're right. And many others are wrong. Don't get so worked up. Political ideology. Not personal. It doesn't change my life if Harper loses and Trudeau wins. But there sure are a lot of people that seem personally offended by the Prime Minister. And I find it very amusing
  23. Was he limping? I'm sure I saw him today and other people were sort of looking at him too (making me think I wasn't crazy). And if it was him he was walking a bit gingerly.
  24. I wouodnt be too concerned. Abrams is no great shakes but I suspext TFA will be good. LucasFilm keeps a lot of Control.
