  1. Thats abject stupidity but its your right to feel that way. Im just glad neither I nor most people live in that world of constant fear.
  2. Never thought of the Bieber thing. Bit of a stretch. I think it was to avoid invoking PET and to speak to (or about) JT in more of a disrespectful tone. But lets not pretend the Liberals' rise has anything to do with some newfound respect for Trudeau as a statesman or leader. Its people jumping off the NDP titanic and the undecided beginning to decide. The best thing about this election is the self-destruction of the NDP.
  3. Hmmm, I missed where anyone here said Trudeau was 20 years old. But feel free to post his resume. I did. On another note, I am loving Charles Adler do a complete 180 on the Conservatives. I knew the guy was a bit nutty but its just fascinating to watch. As if he cant bring himself to admit to backing the "loser". Sort of like, on Oct 20th how many people who pushed the NDP agenda will suddenly say "see, we knew the Liberals would win all along". lol
  4. I just can't get over the image of Putin and Trudeau in the same room together. Putin just pointing and laughing and realizing that the entire Canadian north is now his for the plucking. This is why Trudeau is a bad choice. No way can he stand up to actual leaders. He'd make us a joke. I'd take putin over him in a heartbeat. Putin is strong and actually defends his country's culture and traditions. Putin is a vicious dictator but I agree with your sentiment. My main issue with the Liberals is Trudeau. I find it offensive that he's their leader. And even more offensive that he might be Prime Minister of Canada. Hopefully someone has a clean pair of big boy panties for him to wear after October 19th. And a second pair because if he can even get a meeting with Putin, he will likely need a change in underpants after that one.
  5. Why? It's a large group and they vote. Seems smart to me. its disingenuous for one. A mass shooting and this clown is taking the "more guns is better" approach? Despicable. Like such a stupid and ignorant position that he knows is garbage but takes it to pander to the gun nuts...awful. In other news, sounds like Hilary won the democratic debate last night. Seeing her being called the Comeback Kid in many circles. (isnt that what they called Bill during his first Presidential Election?)
  6. Wonderful. I am going to check my care-o-meter. I'll say it again. I'll never understand why giant whopping lies are tolerated here. It just boggles the mind. not sure why you bring up the same one point twenty times, starting to get forgetful? Get over it. There are plenty of legitiamte reasons to want Harper out of office. Quit crying about the same comment someone made ten pages ago. anyone voting for the conservatives pretending that harper is a good economic steward is living with a giant wopping lie. Its not unique to one side of the spectrum. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to want Harper IN office too. And pretending the opposition didnt heavily influence the Conservative's initial deficit is burying your head in the sand. Yeah, I want good economic stewardship so I should vote for deficit-mad Trudeau or smilin 'liar Mulcair who will "balance the budget" and destroy the oil and gas industry and the same time? Sure. Harper is the right choice is the economy is your issue. There are political ideological reasons to vote for him or for the others. But unless Harper personally came to your house, kicked your cat and pee'ed in your cereal, why do you get so angry? laughable. Harpers economic success is the biggest lie coming out of the Tory party this election. So says you, Angry Tom.

  8. Very well said. More like moral majority since those issues are supported by the majority of Canadians. Its generally the left that gets their moral authority panties in a bunch over what Canadians "want" and "need". Plus its those people that take things like "crime" and pretend their minority opinion is the morally correct one. Ah you are so funny. 'Its bad when they do it but here is why we are justified in doing the same thing' You've shown to be far more intelligent than to completely whiff on that one. Try again. The fact of the matter is that you and KBF both epitomize the types of behaviours that you detest so much that "only exist in the NDP" Not remotely true. I cant speak for KBF but I am wide open to non-Conservative ideas, have been critical of Conservative policies I dont agree. I look at things as logically as possible. And just because logic and common sense dictate some negativity towards the left is not a personal insult towards you. The fact you take it as such speaks volumes. I've been clear. I like Stephen Harper. The vast majority of the Anti-Harper hysteria is nonsense and silly. The Liberals would be my second choice if I had to have a second choice. I dislike Trudeau. I find it insulting that the Liberals installed him as leader knowing his positives had nothing to do with effectiveness as leader. But as I have previously said, it doesnt change my life if the Liberals win and the Cons lose. In fact, I do a bit better tax-wise. you are beyond delusional. You don't even know where left and right lie. You pretend there is a media bias to the left when the mass media portray a very central view, the SUN and post portray a very right wing view and the left (the real left not your idea that just right of your opinion is left) is completly unrepresented in the mainstream media. You claim the "NDP is so biased" when you show the exact same biases. You chastize the NDP for trying to claim the moral high ground, then try to claim it in the next breath. You claim the NDP is intolerant of the right's viewpoints and then show the exact same intolerance. My personal favourite is how you get so butthurt when somone stretches the truth about your guy and then do the exact same thing right back I don't even like the NDP, nor will I ever vote for them but I'll say it again you and KBF both epitomize the types of behaviours that you detest so much that "only exist in the NDP" You are projecting your perceptions and biases on others. Im not sure where anyone said any specific behavior existed solely in the NDP or ALL the media. You're rabid defense of the left and mis-perception of what people here post is laughable. Which NDP candidate is your Uncle? Because you take things very personally. You need to relax. The SUN is a right leaning paper. Yes. Ezra is right leaning. Who is denying these things? But you put words in people's mouths and make leaps to try and make irrelevant points. And if you cant, you name call or insult. Might as well call you Angry Tom. lol
  9. Great point KBF. If harper was so bad the left wouldn't hve to lie. While the right talks policies the left talks about what a personal devil the PM is. Desperate and disrespectful Anyway... The Liberals, who started the election in third place, have overtaken the Conservatives in seat projections, with 128 seats to the Conservatives’ 122. The NDP, once the front-runner, is trailing with 84 seats.

  11. 10. Winnipeg Jets (Last Week: 15) The Jets have the best offense in the NHL. Look it up. Little low in my estimation.

  13. Not really moral authority. They ran on tough on crime and run successive campaigns. Thats not a moral authority issue. Its a voter issue. And it was the courts that made the Niqab an issue this election. And the 70% of Canadian who agree with the Conservative opinion. I agree the media blew it out of proportion as an issue impacting Canadians though. Its sort of one of those no-brainers that it makes "common sense" and so many Canadians agree, that it really shouldnt have been an issue. But the courts disagreed. Which is the role of the courts, so be it. It wasn't the courts or the media that connected the hijab to 'protecting Canadians from Terrorism.' But I'm not going down that road again - been there - done that. It was the media. I could be wrong but I'd have to have you link me to the Cons making the connection between the Niqab being worn during citizenship oath and "protecting Canadians from terrorism" because I dont think Canadians think that. I think the media likes to pretend Canadians are dumb but I think most Canadians (maybe outside of Quebec) see it for what it is. And it was absolutely the media that blew the Niqab debate up because they liked the idea of trying to paint Harper as racist. Which is, ofcourse, silly.
  14. Im not sure that's desperation. But I do think it's a good idea. If the Liberals actually looked at doing this, I'd be interested... Its pandering to their base. The Cons are off track on the pot issue and have been for awhile.

  16. Catch all thread for discussing other NHL teams/news. Up first: Pittsburgh Penguins, my secondary team to cheer for. I guess their worst start since Sid's rookie year could be because of their lousy defense. Or bad coaching. Or Kessel. But in reality its because I took Fleury in my pool every year for 10 years until last year when I was fed up, he has his best year ever and then I took him this year and now he sucks. But really, whats the deal? They might be the first to can their coach.

  18. Only if that Uni has parking. Nice empty golf course north of the Uni though. Wouldnt build on University property. True North would have no development opportunities.
  19. The beauty of being in a hockey pool in Kelowna - in the final round I announce taking Nik Ehlers and everyone just goes "huh'? I took him late round too. But no one in my pool was surprised. Missed out on Scheif who went earlier than I thought.
  20. There simply wasn't room for 18000 seats. There was barely room for 15000 seats. The only way would have been to add a third bowl and the cost is prohibitive to add 3000 cheap seats. It's a very moot discussion.
  21. Meaning the left always seem to think they have the moral Authority. If my guy doesn't win I don't claim the winner doesn't have a mandate. It's politics and democracy.
  22. Funny how people post the anti harper (and in some cases anti Trudeau) stuff like its fact. Regardless of outcome of the NDP don't win there will be plenty of bewildered lefties claiming the wrong guys won.
  23. Great game by Ehlers and Burmi. Terrible officiating. Hutch tremendous. Better get those shots against down a bit though.
  24. But it's illegal in some. And all of canada. It's less a legal issue and one of collective bargaining. But in the case of WWE they softened on pot because guys were abusing prescription pain killers when pot was banned.
  25. Don't be that way. At least admit you were wrong. I agree with your sentiment but it doesn't apply here. You can't compare a square building to an arena. How on earth could mtsc have been built with expansion in mind? First there is no room around it. Even if there was it's not like you just another wing like at a hospital. I assumed you'd say add seats to the top, raise the roof. But that's spending the most money for the cheapest seats. Makes no sense. They expanded HSC by building on an empty lot next door. Not applicable to an arena.
