Buff being off the market cant hurt his value either.

Probably easier using a live person than CGI'ing someone who's passed on. Plus they'd have to get permission from his family and I imagine there is some issues with "new performances" related to CGI'ing "new" actors who are dead. And besides, Ewen played the role just as long, even more so if you consider totality of the performances. And if you CGI Alec, who does the voice, Ewen? Might as well just use him. Perhaps they'd do a combo of CGI over a live performance to tweak him slightly to get an even closer image of Alec. It would be very cool to see Ewen in "old" make up to look like Obi Wan. I've heard Ewen say before that he'd do it and he did the voice over for TFA. I imagine it wont be hard to get him. This, coupled with the rumour of Hayden being brought in as well, plus they always have Yoda they can use, really excites me for Episode VIII.

Hells ya! There are reports that actor Ewan McGregor is rumored to be having discussions with Lucasfilm to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi as a Force ghost for director Rian Johnson’s “STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII.” The rumor comes courtesy of Kristian Harloff of Schmoes Know and Collider Jedi Council and stresses to take this new information with a grain of salt. Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania

He's been offered other positions by wwe but turned them down as he wanted to wrestle. I imagine he will pick sometbinf eventually. NXT would be ideal especially with them bringing in Indy style guys. He's really be able to help them adjust. -

The most honest and organic moment on RAW of all time. Incredible. And it made all the over scripted fake bullshit that much worse because of how truly emotional it was. Bryan Danielson is one of the great ones. He broke a lot of barriers through sheer will, determination, talent and a connection with the fans that couldn't be stopped. Incredible. -
Thanks Frosty. I like all things JfK and I heard the book was great. I didn't read it as I don't like King's book (but do like many of the film adaptations). Also it's like 12,000 pages

I can't see a max deal for trouba unless he's willing to accept a sweet salary. If you bridge him it provides breathing room until Toby's deal expires.

Really?? Is it weekly or all at once like NEtflix? maybe Ill buy crappy SC for two months to watch it.
-
Ladd is next on the list. He either signs or is traded. if he is here without a deal on March 1st, then its a fail for Chevy. Then he has Scheif, Trouba, Perreault, Lowry to deal with. And if he can flip Pavs for Hillier, all the better. if we end up with Drouin and Hamonic, Ill bake a cake with Chevy's face on it.
-
At least Toby is no longer the highest paid player on the team! Its only an extra $2,4M on the payroll next year too. I agree about Ladd. If he'd take something between Little ($4.7) and Wheeler ($5.6), it will get done. maybe he can get the extra year to stagger him and Buff now. $5.2 over 6 years. EDIT: Trouba for Hamonic next?
-
I guess it depends on their projections. We can assume they'd like to sign Ladd but after paying Buff, what's their limit on Ladd now? $750,000 apart (some say less), if thats over the course of 5 years, then goodness, I think it gets done.

I will be the first to admit I am surprised they got Buff locked in and for only 5 years. It shows a lot of faith on Buff's part too because you have to know his agent said, look, you're basically weeks away from having every team in the league bidding for your services. And he said, no, take the deal and stay in Winnipeg. I was hoping $7.2 but thinking 6 years so Ill take this. Around the office the reaction of 5 years was met with cheers and $7.6 with some frowns but he would have got more money or years on the open market, maybe both.
-
Now can we never hear again how the Jets wont spend money
-
Hmmmm $7.6 is a big number. But probably will look even better in about two years. But yes, 5 year deal is great and if it cost a few bucks, so be it. $38m as a total is a very good number. Is there any left for Ladd?

Posted this in other Buff thread...lol Good news. Apparently, according to Friedman, they arent far apart with Ladd either...

Elliotte Friedman was on Calgary’s Sportsnet 960 on Monday morning. As part of a larger discussion on the Winnipeg Jets: “… They are making a big run at Byfuglien. They’re in the middle of negotiations right now, and there’s at least some belief that could happen soon. “I was told with Ladd that they were somewhere around $750,000 a year apart. Everybody was being really cagey. But one guy who’s not affiliated with either of them – Ladd or the team – said to me he doesn’t think it’s that much. He thinks if both sides – and I mentioned this on Saturday – if both sides are willing to give, he thinks a deal could get done there. But he said the biggest problem is both sides feel they’ve given a lot already.” On if the Ladd contract might be one that’s regretted quickly -term-wise – after being signed: “Who’s term are you more scared of – Ladd’s or Byfuglien’s? Ladd’s. “Okay. I think the Jets probably agree with you right now because they’re trying to get Byfuglien done. Byfuglien… if the Jets get away with five years – but it’s probably six. And I think Ladd is six too. I think they were looking at six years for both guys. They didn’t want to go six for Byfuglien, but they’re getting there now. Closer to there.” (The conversation on the Jets continues from there…) Source: Sportsnet 960/ Transcript: Nichols

Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania
The Unknown Poster replied to Goalie's topic in General Discussion
I agree they should take the chance and let him go out with one last match at WrestleMania, especially because this WrestleMania isnt looking so hot. But I dont see it as a work, not with Bryan himself stating it as face and media outlets picking it up. I do think WWE will do something with him, whether its host of WM, or some way of combating the authority. -

Some interesting developments. WWE refused to clear Bryan due to the risk of future concussions. Bryan sought his own medical advice, including the doctor for the Cardinals (I believe) and everyone cleared him. In fact he was measured as having above average cognitive abilities. WWE still refused to clear him. There is a rumor that Bryan recently asked for his release. He has repeatedly said he *will* wrestle again, just not for WWE. So he asks for his release and WWE says no. Pretty ****-ish thing to do. Now the speculation is, he saw an MMA specialist in New York shortly before the Royal Rumble and either that examination "scared" Bryan into making this decision or at least emboldened WWE into reiterating to Bryan they will never clear him. People seem to believe it was the latter, that Bryan finally got information that concerned him enough to decide it wasnt worth it. Personally, I dont believe for a second he will never wrestle again. This retirement might be a legal strategy on Bryan's part. WWE has a clause in their contract where they can extend your contract for the time you were injured (they did this to Rey to prevent him from leaving). So now, Bryan isn't "injured", he's "retired". When his deal expires next year, he's free to go anywhere he wants. But...you never know. He's married and reportedly he and Brie want to start a family. He might have come to the realization its not worth the risk and he can still make a good living with WWE in another role. But if I had to bet, I'd say he will wrestle again. It wouldnt surprise me if WWE tries to run an angle with him for WM too. Something to get him to endorse Roman. It wont work but they will probably try. Or to transfer his underdog role to AJ. -
Is it true I cant watch HULU in Canada? They are launching a cool series I want to see based on Stephen King's book 11-22-63. But apparently, Hulu is not available in Canada. Morons. Does Hulu release its series on DVD after the fact?
