Can we goad San jose into taking Pavs?
-
I dont have an issue with them bringing in veteran hell next year if they feel they need it. But we have little and wheeler and buff and Enstrom and Stafford. Scheif going into year 4. Perreault has been around. I'm not sure ladd leaves this gaping leadership void. If he does, yes address it.
-
Then it's a silly discussion point. The intent was to be worse now than two days ago. Mission accomplished. My post wasn't ridiculous. It was sarcastic. I'm far more excited about bringing young talented hockey players than keeping aging vets at an over payment. And the jets aren't dumping veterans anyway. They traded one guy they would otherwise lose for nothing. Its psychological. If they traded ladd then signed buff all anyone would be talking about is how committed the jets are to keeping their talented core. It might suck to pay to watch a team lose but winning in sports is mostly a long game anyway.

I thought that was interesting because ladd had just said there were no talks since Christmas. I don't think one of them lying per se. I think the talks were nothing substantive that required the agent informing ladd. in fact the way Chevy worded it sounded to me like the talks were more around compromf notes on market value and what the jets could get in a trade and where the best places to send him were.

What's the deal with the English accent? Does the actress actually have one now or is it a gimmick for the show? Id think it would be rather annoying for her to pull off constantly.

Chicago hearing up Bob Mac comfirms Jets were one of teams with more than cursory inyeresy in Drouin. Says it will take a piece to help them now and a decent prospect. What could we offer? Stafford if we retain , harkins and maybe burmi? Or are those too spare part-ish? Our 2nd round pick this year? (Low)

Too young. We should trade him for an aging veteran who can play the third line.
-
I think some people don't understand the purpose of getting younger. It's not for bragging rights. If you're youth has talent it bodes well for the future should we have traded ladd for an aging veteran? Ofcourse not. So what if we're young? Having talented older players have resulted on zero playoffs wins. No one has suggested trading wheeler or buff. Stafford isn't a key piece. So what's the problem? no one has suggested rushing guys either. Petan plays for the moose. De Leo plays for the moose. Morrissey plays for the moose. Who's being rushed? Ehlers? He plays hockey at a pro level. Not a rush. Dano? Has NHL experience. And he may get sent down. Who knows. Connor? maybe he makes the jets. Maybe he doesn't. id rather Habe an exciting young team that gets better and makes the playoffs then a consistently just good enough to miss the playoffs veteran team who's guys she out of value or walk away for nothing.

Game 61 : Jets @ Penguins of Madagascar

I find it amusing when people say RW and LW don't matter. While there are some players who excel at their off wing and some who can play both effectively it's obviously important. It's why the Hawks wanted a top six LW and not a top six RW. Dano can play both. So he can be slotted where it's easiest for the Jets or the Jets area of need. Id expect it to not really matter until next season really. The jets have had a few guys that play both sides including Ehlers and Stafford. But you never saw ladd or wheeler playing their off wing. -
I might have to check that out. The show I mean.
-
So did Chicago want those two or did we make them take them? Made them take two deals they could bury to offset the cash for retaining some of Ladd?
-
Chicago will try to make room for him.

Possible trouba comparable

So, they couldnt sign a deal when they had exclusive negotiating rights. But they will when there are 29 other teams who can negotiate, offer incentive packages and get into a bidding war with one another? Highly unlikely. The only he comes back here is if the free agent market collapses and no one offers him anything more than the Jets are willing to spend and he decides all things being equal that he might as not sell his house or make his wife leave her job. But guess what...the MILLIONS more he'll be offered over what the Jets have offered will make the selling your house and moving your wife not feel like such a hardship.
-
At this point, sure, trade him, and clear his salary for the youth. As the guys on the Big Show were discussing, Im sure the Jets home crowd will welcome Dano with a hearty Marco Dano chant (to the tune of Marco Polo). Speaking of Big Show, how have they never used the Big Show's WWE theme? "Welllll, its the Big Shoooooooowwwww". Perfect.

I think Jets management is reading the tea leaves when it comes to where the game is going, which is skill over size. Jets seemed to go after size initially and then started going for skill and not being shy about smaller players. It really is more about how you play and Dano sounds like he'd fit in perfectly with what management hopes will be "Jets Hockey" - skill, tenacity, effort, grit. if he's 214lbs now and 21 years old, he might still put on a few more pounds anyway. I wouldnt worry about it.

The indications are the "R" would come from violence. This reminds me of a terrible joke I like to bust out every so often. "Did you hear about the new pirate move? It's rated Arrrrrrrrrr".

I agree about stafford. If the jets were keeping ladd and trying to get in the playoffs next season Id say keep him and his goals. But if this is a youth movement then no reason to keep him. But tough to trade him with a year left -

Shoots left. Makes LW his natural position and RW his off wing. -

Interesting ice time. Burmi, Armia and Scheif led forwards -

Swap Dano and Stafford. Jets will probably easy him in into the line up and he prefers to play his off wing -
Dano is actually gritty. May not have the size although most stats seem to be outdated and he's bigger now. But it's said he plays into the corners and doesn't mind mixing it up.
