There have been no numbers released on Collaros's contract for next year. Seeing as he's finishing up a 3 year deal where he made 600k per year, its hard to see it being lower than that. Given his play last season and this season, that is too high. Given what other QBs (Adams, Harris, Brown, Mitchell) are making its way to high. If he got down to 450k, that would be in line with Adams and Harris but truthfully, a little too high imo. If its for 375k like Mitchell is making this year, I'd be more ok with it. My speculation is that his 2026 salary is for 600k though.

Ok, the whole not giving national rookies time. None of us are saying start them, we're saying give them reps. There is a difference. As for letting them ripen, Fortin and Alford have been starting for Calgary and playing well. Veresuk is in the same boat for Hamilton. There is also Keelen White who is starting for Ottawa. I think its fair to say the argument that you need to shelter rookies is not true.

MBT has been fairly awful this year and has been pulled for Evans in each of the last two weeks but honestly I'd be tempted to do this too, just to get out of the likely 600k we'll owe Zach next year.

Mayala is likely better depth than Cobb or Corcoran.

@JuranBoldenRules, do you track defensive snaps? That's some interesting commentary in regards to how much our linebackers are playing. It would be interesting if the CFL had data available for yardage given up by DBs when they are the primary cover on a player. I know it exists in the NFL. By the eye test, Bonds, Vaval and Kelly have all been targeted.

Given our issues with bigger receivers, Geno Lewis concerns me for this game.

OH Mitchell wasn't lights out by any means but he was more productive than Case. I'll concede I am making a petty point.

So Mitchell 3 catches for 22 yards, caught all his targets. Case 2 catches, 10 yards, 1TD, caught 2 of 5 targets. I'd say Mitchell is at least an upgrade.
