Interesting piece by Tait as always but I always take his work with a grain of salt as he's a mouthpiece for the club.

Are you argueing that BC has done better on not overpaying than us? I'd say the Rourke, Betts, Hatcher etc deals, being 300k over the cap in 2024 and how cheap they have gone at many spots on D says otherwise. I agree we've done poorly in this area but I don't think BC has done better.

Pat Riley, Phil Jackson, Rick Carlisle, Steve Kerr are all guys who are or were great NBA coaches who were also journeyman pros. All we are saying is give Jake a chance.

Walters has done a good job so far with bringing back Brady, Demski, Lawson, Kramdi and Nichols, while also extending Wilson. Who else does everybody want back?

So with the extra $50,000 for Brady, what if they off set it by going American at C? A rookie american makes $80,000 versus Kolo's cost (pretty sure he was at least $130,000). Balances the $ and you're likely better too.

Brady and Demski are our only Canadians who are outstanding.

Tyson Philpot who has never had a 1000 yard season and who has missed 5, 9 and 6 games over the past three seasons got $275,000. Brady was not getting less.

I get the issue with how high Brady's salary is but this deal is not what is going to kill us. If we bring back Jefferson at $200,000, Schoen at $175,000+, Kyrie Wilson at whatever he makes, all three of Holm/Kramdi/Nichols (two are fine), Vaughters at $165,000, Jake and Kolo at any price, aging foot soldiers such as Gauthier and Hallet, Mitchell at $160,000 and J. Jones at whatever he got, that huge amount of deadwood and clinging to aging vets, that's what kills us.

I like Brady and am happy he is back. Plus you have to keep your talent and he's our best offensive player and best Canadian.
