Under the Canada Health Act, they can withhold funding if conditions in the health act are not met. Constitution FYI says nothing about funding.

2022/2023 Off-Season (League/Non-Bombers-specific News)

There is never going to be a team in Atlantic Canada. Those provincial governments are broke and are not going to fund a stadium. No ownership group either. Time to move on. -
While health care is a provincial responsibility, since the federal government has more ability to raise revenue and to ensure relatively equal levels of care across Canada, the federal government has always played a role in healthcare ever since it was introduced in the 1960s. As for withholding funds, Trudeau wanting to put strings before committing $ is reasonable since provincial governments have not used healthcare money for healthcare and are crying poor (see Ontario and Alberta as examples). Heck, they were doing the same thing with Covid funds (see Manitoba getting 85 million for education during covid and spending 10 million on a remote learning center and not accounting for the other 75 million).

I too believe Cody could win a Grey Cup with an OL of Walby, Bryant, Chiu, Flory and Black, a receiving core of Stegall, Pitts, Simon, Cahoon and Lewis and Charles Roberts at RB. With a Defence of Brown, Lareunt, Jefferson, Hughes, Bighill, Elimimian, Muamba, Hill, Browne etc. -
The Liberal Party doesn't have the same funds or party apparatus as the other two parties so JCon's point about being able to focus on one race versus 57 is legit. Southern Manitoba will vote PC no question but I think other ridings outside Winnipeg are in play. Winnipeg decides it and if polling holds, the PCs are going to do poorly in Winnipeg. Terrible numbers in Winnipeg and woman voters especially dislike them.

I agree its a concern for the NDP but for the Tories as well. They barely won two of the safest seats for them in the province.

Thought Rose would a cap victim but solid addition. Would love to see Demski back soon. Baumming tweeted speculation that Jeffcoat will be back since he's on the promos for the 2023 schedule. -

I wish we still did a home and home with each team. -
@Mark H.made an excellent point, both the PCs and the NDP have weak pools to choose a cabinet from.
-
Since WW2, evert government elected in this province has gotten two terms except for the tories under Sterling Lyon. Not sure a recession and potentially raised taxes gets the PCs back in after one term by the NDP.

Mixed feelings on this. Like Jake as a rotational player but feel like he may be an older player we are holding onto too long. Then again, believe next season we can rotate a 5 year american vet or a 3 year vet who has been with us all that time with one NI. -

The operations cap is a poor idea. No reason to penalize teams who can and will spend more on scouting and quality coaching. Its limiting the ability to move on from poor coaching and GM hires as well. -
So you think whomever the PCs pick would win in 2027?Not sure I see such a candidate, weak group to pick from.

So is Miller suggesting that we can't afford to pay Walters what he is worth due to the operations cap or what?
