  1. Is it actually a rule though? From their own press release in August, the CFL says the CC can overturn a call that was clearly and obviously wrong. I thought this one was pretty clear that it was an interception and a quick review would have shown that. I think part of the problem (at least this season) is they decided mid-season to change how the CC is supposed to work. To me, that should have been an off-season decision so they could have given the officials/coaches time to adjust and all get on the same page. https://press.cfl.ca/command-centre-operations-refocus-on-clear-and-obvious-principle
  2. On slow motion replay it looked like maybe the ball was sliding down his chest a tiny bit (very iffy at best) but that's about it. No way the refs on the field could see that in real time. The CC should have stepped in.
  3. He was on the PR but he signed a futures contract for next season so no FA for him.
  4. Plus the Riders have some guy named Milligan - I heard a bit of media chatter about him and he's apparently quite the player & is going to win every CFL award. But really though, this is my thinking as well. The Lions have not shown that they can play well at this time of year when playing outdoors so until they do, I'm hesitant to pick them to win. And if I'm wrong, it means the Riders lost so I'm good either way.
  5. I had the same thought. Killing the clock was the right call but had they not taken the timeout and allowed so much time to pass, they would have been able to get the punt off before the wind blew in.
  6. I'll see if I can find individual team breakdowns but on the whole, 2024 league attendance was 0.6% lower than 2019 (his 2nd full season as commissioner) so it's fairly close to the same. For sure, I mean Edmonton had a bigger drop in gate revenue than they did in attendance so it looks like they gave away more tickets than before just to get butts in the seats. Every team does this though, so all those numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt.
  7. You sure about that? The CFL had it's best year since the pandemic so in terms of attendance from last year to this year, here's what each team did. You can tell which teams have been successful on the field and which have not over the last few seasons. BC - up 15.8% Edmonton - down 17.3% Calgary - down 0.7% Saskatchewan - up 0.1% Winnipeg - up 2.5% Toronto - up 5.7% Ottawa - up 0.1% Hamilton - down 3.8% Montreal - up 20% https://3downnation.com/2024/10/28/cfl-regular-season-attendance-grows-1-percent-from-2023-to-2024/
  8. After his involvement with the Chad Kelly incident, I can't see the BOG wanting Pinball as the face of the league. I certainly don't.
  9. Maybe they prefer sheep?
  10. The fact they had that playing on the screens at Mosaic is fantastic.
  11. Completely flat in the first half and doesn't look like it's going to change in the 2nd half, at least on defense. Offense needs to change that.
  12. Christmas came early for @SpeedFlex27
  13. I still expect similar game time management as last week for them. They want the confidence but they don't want to get needlessly banged up either - they already lost the starting RT last week and his replacement is a GTD so they don't want to add to that list.
  14. Lineup notes: The Alouettes will be making a handful of changes ahead of this game. They’ll be welcoming Austin Mack, Walter Fletcher, Brock Gowanlock and Theo Grant back in the lineup. Receiver Tyjon Lindsey will be making his Alouettes debut. He’ll be handling return duties with James Letcher Jr. sitting out this week. Josh Donovan, who appeared to suffer a lower-body injury in last Saturday’s game against the B.C. Lions, won’t be in the lineup. He’s been placed on the one-game injured list. Defensive end Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund is also out. Heading into this final game of the season, Adeyemi-Berglund leads the team in quarterback sacks, with seven. Star defensive tackle Mustafa Johnson will miss his third straight game. He’s second on the team in sacks, with three. Offensive tackle Jamar McGloster, who replaced Donovan in B.C., is considered a game-time decision for this game. The veteran was the starter at right tackle in the second half of last season and the Grey Cup, but he’s been limited to one game due to a back injury. https://en.montrealalouettes.com/2024/10/25/preview-wpg-at-mtl-week-21/

  16. We've had that option all season in Devin Adams. I was hoping we'd get to see him boot one in a game at some point (especially given how uninspiring our punting has been this year). https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/2024/06/20/adams-brings-formidable-talents-to-first-cfl-start
  17. Grainger & Wright coming back while Toles is new to the team. https://www.bluebombers.com/2024/10/22/blue-bombers-sign-three-to-futures-contracts/
  18. I mean isn't that what Farhan is for?
  19. He took over as GM in 2008 - they won the cup that year. They finished in 2nd in 2005 & 2006 before dropping a spot in 2007. He didn't exactly inherit a tire fire. You'd have to go back a few years earlier to the Kevin Feterik days to the last time they were a real mess.
  20. Sounds like the Bombers before Wade took over. Going to take a while to rebuild that team.
  21. False. Pittsburgh only played here about once a season but he managed to play 9 games here during his career. That's a good rate considering his health issues (and one season shortened due to a lockout) before the Jets left.
  22. It still feels weird seeing the Stamps this bad. Looks good on Dickie though.
  23. Yep. https://www.ctvnews.ca/business/food-prices-continue-to-outpace-inflation-in-canada-1.7074295
