  1. If I had to guess, I'd say Ryan Rigmaiden was responsible for that. He was the Lions main US scout in 2015 when Sheed signed with them. He was working for us when we signed him in 2019 so Rigmaiden may have kept tabs on him.
  2. Westerman was being recruited by every single team in the CFL after he spent 6 years in the NFL - no scouting was required. He chose to come here which falls more on management and what they pitched him. https://www.cfl.ca/2015/05/07/blue-bombers-bring-dl-westerman-to-winnipeg/ Bailey was briefly on BC's PR back in 2015. The Lions released him so he could sign with Jacksonville. https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2015/10/20/9576543/jaguars-eagles-receiver-rasheed-bailey-practice-squad
  3. I don't disagree in general but a couple of those guys were already known players (Westerman) or had already been signed elsewhere previously (Bailey) so I wouldn't consider those major scouting coups. BA is also listed twice but otherwise, yeah they've done a pretty good job, especially on the defensive side of things.
  4. The more he plays & proves himself, the bigger that pay day can be though. Brown didn't get as many opportunities as he would have like & his lower-end starting QB salary reflects that. He's still an unproven commodity outside the Bombers system and Dukes might have that same issue. Unless his agent did something dumb & locked him into something longer than a standard contract, he should be scheduled for FA after this season.
  5. Yeah in 2014, Moore definitely was the top WR in 2014 - he could have gone anywhere (if he didn't get an NFL look) but chose to come Here. Bryant came in 2015 where he (arguably) wasn't the best OL available until Ben Heenan & Brett Jones both signed NFL deals.
  6. That bucket would go untouched in the Riders locker room.
  7. 2-2 on field goals but also missed a convert. Castillo also mentioned his average in practice is way down too so the game is just one example. If 10 of 11 kickers in the league voted against it, they aren't doing just because. I'd like to know who the one kicker was though.
  8. You would think they would have learned from GC that trotting out banged up players is not a great idea. And if that's the case, why would you risk further injury on the opening game of the season? Losing Demski or Brady for an extended period because they felt like they could play a bit banged up would be a terrible roster management choice.
  9. It's possible. I have no idea what size/weight the CFL chip is but at least for the USFL ones, there were reports that it was also affecting their QB's. https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Daily/Issues/2022/04/26/Technology/usfl-abandons-sensors-in-kicking-balls.aspx
  10. No they didn't. The NFL has been using microchips in their balls since about 2017 - the difference is the size of the chip. The NFL chip is about the size of a thumbnail while the USFL chip (and presumably the CFL too if it's causing this issue) is about the size of a golf ball. AFAIK, the data collected isn't really kicking related so a simple solution might be to have a separate set of regular balls for kicking plays & save the chipped ones for everything else.
  11. Here I thought it was PAS not POS. What a turd of a game.
  12. Speaking of unrealistic... Maybe take a look in the mirror?
  13. Is Garcia still in town?
  14. I just got weird looks for saying I couldn't wait to get out to the Pas. I then said Fort Hew? and got the same blank stares. Had to shake my head and walk away at that point.😂
  15. Impressive but it's been done before!
  16. 4 cups for every 1 tooth is a pretty impressive ratio from a certain point of view!
  17. I don't think anyone hates Gauthier. He can play and has his uses, it's just not the the optimal line-up (imo). If it was a ratio issue and had to go with him, I don't think there would be much as much discussion about it, but that's not the case.
  18. Yep. It's an independent arbitrator that sets the schedule so yeah nothing the league can do at the moment. Appeals are expected to take weeks to play out and it's been about 3 weeks since the appeal was filed so you would think it'll wrap up sooner rather than later.
  19. Yeah if you're admitted to a secure wing of a hospital, it's usually for your own safety (ex: suicide or self-harm attempts).
  20. Could the coaches be concerned about having too many new guys in the line-up on defense? They already have two new starters in the front 7 with Fox & Haba so maybe they don't want to add a 3rd or 4th, especially if those guys are new to the league (Ayers/Adams)?
  21. Doesn't have to be one of those 3 three though. They could go Cole - Wilson - Kramdi
  22. In this case, less talented - you're projecting too much. Thomas & Gauthier, at this point of their careers, are not the best options we have.
  23. Kelly hasn't practiced this week due to injury and was ruled out yesterday.
