  1. Our junior football scene just isn't as strong as the other western provinces and it shows on the field. Our best players often leave to play elsewhere (Banfield for example had been playing in BC).
  2. He didn't even make it to camp. He failed his physical which was due to the Bailey hit
  3. Well the police themselves have said this isn't anything unusual so this could very well be something that's been happening for years and just hasn't been made the news.
  4. It's too bad TKO/HHH didn't get him in this year. Vince was gone in January and the HOF ceremony was in April so there was time to do it. Wonder if they weren't entirely aware of Sid's medical situation or if everyone (including Sid) thought they'd have a bit more time.
  5. Haven't seen any of their pre-season games but sounds like he's showing flashes of potential and the expected mistakes. https://bvmsports.com/2024/08/21/giovanni-manu-early-progress-breakdown-as-2024-lions-rookie/
  6. https://411mania.com/wrestling/sid-vicious-has-passed-away/
  7. Exactly this. He wasn't drafted or signed as a FA in 2020. The Giants gave him a workout as a receiver in 2021 but that's as close as he got to the NFL. Either he was really delusional or he had a terrible agent blowing smoke up his ass, because he had no shot at becoming an NFL QB at that time.
  8. A free Big Mac & a pack of smokes for the first 5000 people at the game!
  9. Yep. Riders released him because he wasn't fully healed from getting trucked by Bailey.
  10. Must be a remix. Heard he made one after Rourke came back to the Lions... Two in the morning, got the fat burger. Even saw the lights of the Goodyear blimp and it read "Farhan's a simp".
  11. Not at all gates. Guess they were testing it out before rolling it out everywhere.
  12. Not sure it's an agent thing. Sounds like the agent was just as in the dark as the Jets were.
  13. Calgary & Toronto were the only other clubs with decent records that year (everyone else was .500 or below) and the Lions beat both teams with big stats when he played. BC crushed Toronto early in week 3 (blowout game & padded stats as he kept airing it out against a clearly beaten team). He beat Calgary in week 10 (huge numbers, huge 4th quarter comeback so full marks for that one). He didn't suit up in either rematch (Calgary in week 15 & Toronto in week 18) but came back in time to beat Calgary in the West SF. He definitely had a number of games where he stayed in well past the point a team would normally keep their starter in there.
  14. The "real" Rourke in 2022 was 0-3 against us with some very pedestrian stats (43 of 73 or 59% with 4 TD's and 4 INT's). Until he proves he can beat us, rust is just an easy out.
  15. Oilers decline to match the offer for Broberg and Holloway. Thought they would have matched at least one of them after trading Ceci yesterday. That trade gave them the cap space (assuming they put Kane on LTIR) to match both. Maybe they want that money to extend Leon?
  16. Did O'Mahony even play a real game for us? His two stints here were memorable but for the wrong reasons. In 2006, he didn't show up to camp and his wife had to file a missing persons report before he eventually turned up. He was released so he could focus on his issues. We re-signed him in 2008 but he stubbed his toe while taking a leak the night before the first game of the season. I don't remember him ever actually getting in a game except pre-season (where he was admittedly overweight and out of shape).
  17. How about Duncan O'Mahony? Two legendary stints with the Blue and Gold.
  18. It's also a good thing for grassroots football. Gives a couple young guys a taste of pro football and a goal to aspire to.
  19. Not 2024 related but the Bombers released the seating map/pricing for the 2025 GC. Almost identical pricing to what they charged in 2015, with a couple more price points (7 sections vs 5 sections).
  20. Not sure if every Husky has this but their Slurpee setup has an option to add soft serve vanilla ice cream and make a Screamer. Pretty tasty way to change things up.
  21. He's officially a Winnipegger now.
  22. He was with us after Montreal (who acquired him in a trade with Hamilton) but he didn't play a single game in the CFL. Hopefully it's a name we'll never have to hear again... after reading some of the details of the case - good riddance.
  23. I agree, our game day experience is much improved but that's not what the OP was talking about. The bullet point was "Bring in some special events to get the potential fan attention and attract younger fans." We're talking about 2 different things here because most of what you just referenced would not qualify as a special event (the exception maybe being the half-time entertainment but I'm not sure you can compare bringing Fred Penner in to bringing in someone like 50 Cent).
