  1. Only until the Expos come back!
  2. Neither do you. I'm sure they have Rider parties going on all across Canada when they are in the Grey Cup but that doesn't make them Canada's team does it?
  3. Does this sound familiar to anyone? CFL News ‏@CFL_News 6m6 minutes ago #Riders also going to work stockpiling draft picks and moving up in the draft. O'Day admitted on Wednesday that their Canadian talent needs an upgrade Seems the prior regime favoured bandaid "fixes" in order to get them back to the Grey Cup ASAP
  4. As much as some people wants to say it's the anti-Harper crowd that likes to use scare tactics (which they have), every party does it. Paul Martin had the soldiers in the streets nonsense when he lost in 2006 & Harper has this crap about brothels, weed at 7-11, and legal crack houses popping up everywhere. Treating voters like morons is a sure way to find yourself on the losing end of an election.
  5. It's almost the end of the season and the end of his contract. I'm glad we got anything for him. Many teams would have just waited until the off season to sign him.Sounds good except he wasn't going to be a free agent. They had verbally agreed to an extension prior to the trade. Ya about 5 minutes before the deal. No way the Riders wanted him back here. Montreal likely wanted some certainty Whether or not he was in the Riders plans for next year or not, isn't the issue. Montreal got the certainty they wanted but only paid the price for a short term rental. Saskatchewan could have gotten more (imo).

  7. The full Messam trade details: To Calgary: Messam, 5th round 2016 draft pick To Sask: Crapigna, 3rd round 2016 draft pick & a neg list player
  8. Apparently he was in their plans as they had verbally agreed to an extension for next season. He's already worked out the same deal with Montreal.
  9. Only a 5th round pick being sent to Saskatchewan for Glenn. I'm surprised the price is that low.
  10. Had a rough go vs Arceneaux in the first half this past week, but he's our best DB*, IMO. (*with Randle on the IR) I'm a fan of Demond but he's behind Adams and Randle in my books.
  11. Their reply was better... Ottawa REDBLACKS ‏@REDBLACKS 3m3 minutes ago .@Wpg_BlueBombers Mockery is the sincerest form of flattery. You're still missing a winning record, though
  12. Painful for Adler no doubt. Nice hair though Harper's hair wasn't too bad either back in the day... much better than it is these days at any rate.
  13. It could happen... Trudeau already proved he could whoop the best the Conservatives could throw at him. yeah Trudeau proved he can whip a horrible senator who was hand picked by Harper. FYP.

  15. This turn out is good news for the Cons. if those advanced polls were located in retirement homes but basically bad news if they weren't. They weren't. I'm in my late 30's - plenty of friends who are my age or younger voted yesterday Same here. My wife & I went on Saturday & the age of people voting was pretty diverse. Quite a few of my friends (late 20's to late 30's) have already voted as well. At our station, it was close to a 45 min wait with less than a dozen people in line in front of us so I can't even imagine how long some of the waits were at busier stations.
  16. Half time shows didn't start until 91 so maybe you were having your own personal shows with the Nylons?
  17. Lowry was back on the ice when the game was already well in hand. I guess his injury wasn't that bad or they would have shut him down for the night.
  18. Argo's just lost another home game. This time they're headed to Hamilton.
  19. Here's a pretty good analysis on the Gretzky/Lemieux debate. http://hockeypyramid.blogspot.ca/2013/12/the-great-debate-gretzky-vs-lemieux.html
  20. Lawless is saying Lirim will probably still handle the punting but Castillo will do the place kicking.
  21. I didn't say size dictated skill, but it is an a great attribute to have. You don't think if all else is equal, having 4 inches & 50 lbs is an advantage? I think overall they are very close, Wayne with a slight advantage in skill that gets evened out when you factor in the size Lemieux had. He was physically able to do things Wayne couldn't. Mario only comes in around 2800 point if he maintains that 2.0 PPG. Just like Mario, Gretzky playing as long as he did hurt his average. The last 7 years of his career his PPG average was only 1.25.
  22. Given the fact that Lemieux was 6'4 235lbs vs Wayne's 6"0 185 lbs, he should have the stats advantage. If we set aside physical attributes and just look at pure skill, Wayne takes it (imo). I don't buy into the "if Mario had been healthy" argument because that is a part of sports. Bobby Orr had his career cut short due to injuries so did Eric Lindros... it happens. It's not what you could have done, it's what you did. People also talk about Gretzky having better players around him but if you look at it closer, they had comparable teammates. They both played with a bunch of future hall of famers (Wayne had 5 & Mario had 5 with 2 more still to come in Jagr & Mark Recchi) so that argument doesn't really fly.
  23. Just watched Black Mass the other day. Good movie but overall it just didn't quite hit the mark for me (or my wife who fell asleep half way through). It's worth watching just based on Johnny Depp's performance alone.
  24. 4Play has been vacant for a while (2012 according to the OP).
  25. I agree. If you're someone who thumbs their nose at police, now is a good time to do it with DA's and Crowns quick to drop charges at the mere whiff of police impropriety. In this video, absolutely the police reacted wrongly, striking her. They are supposed to be trained to get suspects to comply using pressure points and leverage holds, not striking them. But the woman WAS resisting arrest. "Help me help me"...good grief. I guess she was truly afraid she would be abducted off the street by the cops and whisked away to a dungeon prison somewhere. Every legal expert discussing these incidents says the same thing "If you think the cops are wrong, comply fully and fight the system later". But realistically, had this woman complied, she wouldnt have had a case to whine about the cops later. That's another issue for the police in this case... they testified (at least one officer did) that she wasn't struck during her arrest, so now she gets to sue for more damages. This was broad daylight with multiple witnesses around... it amazes me that the cop thought there wouldn't be some video of the incident out there in this day & age.
