BS penalty by a thin-skinned ref. Buff gives him a dirty look and the guy shits his pants. He knocked the puck away from the linesman when he was bent over to pick it up. The ref saw it and called the penalty. lol really??? I missed that. Classic Buff. Great play.

Drew Tate signs extension with Stampeders
Atomic replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
BC might be in the market. I don't imagine Montreal is 100% sold on Crompton either, regardless of how well he played last season. But I would guess that Tate isn't going to be moved. -
Do the Bombers REALLY sit on announcements?
Atomic replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Whether you spread out or sit on it, it's really just a matter of personal preference. -
I'd agree that he should have been out further but that stretch of hockey was really ugly for the Jets and Pav was in the middle of a shitstorm so I can't blame him. Good win and good for him to come up tall in the shootout.

Good one. Is it that far off? Sheets was by far the best running back in the CFL.. he was dominant. And Butler was a high end Canadian starter. After seeing 4 different backs put up dominating games in 2014 behind that Oline, I'm inclined to say 2013 wasn't all on Sheets. Is anything in football ever all on one player? He was a game-breaking RB but of course he was helped by having a stellar OL in front of him.

Are Picard and Heenan not high end Canadian starters? Sheets was better than Cornish, IMO. And by a fair margin. Of course the loss of Picard and Heenan hurts as well. Just saying that losing Sheets and Butler is not that far removed in terms of impact, especially because they have a replacement lined up for Picard which they didn't really have for Butler or Sheets.

7 games in 11 nights makes it challenging but the schedule still has some very tough sections remaining. For example, 5 games in 8 nights to end the season, vs. Vancouver, @Minnesota, @St.Louis, @Colorado, vs. Calgary. Could be a critical stretch. Not saying they can't handle it, just saying there are still plenty of tough sections on the schedule.

Dustin Byfuglien named to All-Star Team

Superstar! -
Surprised that Tate would want to stick around, but not surprised the Stamps want to keep him. BLM is young enough that he will get an NFL shot, nice to have a QB you've been developing for half a decade around as a backup plan.

One or two unannounced signings (update 1/21)
Atomic replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Sam Miller is 5'9" 182lbs.5'10" 190. Lots of SAM linebackers have played at a similar size. Not according to his NFL pro day measurements. These small guys exaggerate their height/weight all the time.Doesn't matter. It's a comparison. If you look back at guys who have played SAM, their size is probably exaggerated too. So the comparison still works. Unless you think Sam Miller is the first guy to be incorrectly listed. -

He's my favorite player. You have to pick someone else.

Total nonsense. The Jets payroll for goalies is 4.5 million. That is less than almost every other team in the league (finding all the numbers post-capgeek is too time consuming). Cam Ward is making 6.7 million this year. Anton Khudobin is making 800k as the backup. Combined 8.5 million at that position. We could give Hutchinson a 3 million dollar raise today and still be paying a million less per season for our goalies than the Hurricanes are. You don't like Pavelec. So be it. His contract makes him difficult to trade if we wanted to do that. It does not impede decisions for other players, affect the "salary structure" of the team, or create a social injustice that must be addressed. It just pisses you off because you don't think he's worth it. Turns out the Jets don't really care about your feelings. That's not very nice of them. WTF are you even talking about? I have no problem with Pavelec. But if he is not starting and he is making starter money, that is a problem. It's not complicated. Proceed with getting all worked up again over a perceived slight to your favourite player.
-
lol you're presenting burying a 4 million dollar contract in St Johns, not re-signing Ladd or Byfuglien, and trading Kane as realistic options and you still don't understand why Pav's contract is a problem?
-
Sure but it's not about the comparison to other goalies. It's about having a goalie who isn't our best goalie making 7 times more than what our best goalie makes. It just throws the structure off. What happens after next year when we want to re-sign Hutch and Pavs is still making 4 mil?
-
Well we've still got him for two more years at 3.9 million. I don't know what you do with that contract, but until it's gone you have to keep him fresh and playing. I'd rather he plays lights out every now and then rather than mediocre every time.

I wouldn't call last night's performance a sound defensive game...
-
I would trade Moore for the same value that's for sure. I'd like to see if Walters is capable of finding a good American receiver before shipping out Moore. Saw quite enough of Romby Bryant last year.

You must be excited. Last week we had two backup goalies and now we have two number ones!
