  1. I don't see how it hurts Willy at all. He's obviously not going to remain under a 400k+ contract if he doesn't regain his starting job this season. However he will easily get a new contract somewhere (maybe here?) as a backup.
  2. I have no problem with players who are unable to work due to injury after football receiving benefits.
  3. The premise of the article is only true if the team's salary total was going to be exactly at the salary cap. Which is ridiculous, especially at this point in the season. We don't need to cut Willy. Not going to happen.
  4. No Doug Brown please... that's all I ask
  5. I agree he is overhyped. He didn't get a chance to play long enough for other teams to figure him out. He looked good for 2 games last year but lots of backup QBs look good for a couple games.
  6. Bowman still drops the ball in Edmonton with some regularity. According to you, that means he's useless. I guess that's why they keep him around right? The point here is that it's not black-and-white. McDuffie dropping one ball doesn't mean he's useless. Every receiver drops the ball sometimes. How about we give him a chance to catch the ball a few times and see how he does, then make a judgment?
  7. Bowman still drops his fair share and I wouldn't call him useless
  8. Is Adarius Bowman useless?
  9. That's true.... but that was an extreme case. MacLean was beloved by Canadians and Strombo was a pretty jarring change. I didn't mind him but I can't blame people for reacting the way they did. It was hard to buy Strombo as a "hockey guy." I also think he took an unnecessary amount of blame for the poor ratings situation.
  10. Very, very true. The worst thing about Jay & Dan is that they spawned this new generation of anchors who desperately try to be funny but are not, at all.
  11. I'm on the other side of the fence, for sure. I expect entertainment. Does anyone actually get "info" from the radio anymore? I can get more information from 10 minutes on the internet than a 3 hour radio show will ever provide. I'm there for the banter, the discussion, and the entertainment value. The Cory Woron vs Jay/Dan comparison is a little different. Woron is great as a pure highlights guy. But he's never going to carry a show like the Jay and Dan podcast, which is excellent. Two different mediums really. That said, I loved Jay and Dan on Sportscentre, too. i'm sure Edmonds appeals to the 50+ crowd just fine, but that's not the target demographic.
  12. I believe Jay pissed off the "You'lllllll find us!!" guy from Best Sleep Centre, and around the same time he also engaged with a troll on twitter. He told the troll to "eat a d*ck" if I recall correctly. The troll was deserving of that and far worse for the things he was saying. But the troll escalated it to the TSN bosses and whether he deserved it or not, it was determined that Jay's behaviour was unacceptable and they let him go.
  13. Edmonds was "great"? Westwood is "horrible"? Is your favourite meal a slice of white bread with a glass of water on the side? It would appear that you have a taste for the bland and boring.
  14. They signed him in January so not really a whole year yet.... he has played in five games, plus pre-season.
  15. He's definitely never been shy talking about being Jewish, seems like he embraces it pretty fully, I just didn't realize it was to that degree.
  16. Beyak is far better than Edmonds on PBP but i would still take Edmonds over Brian Munz. Munz is the worst... hopefully he doesn't end up on the morning show. Edmonds on the morning show however was not good either. I also can't see Rewucki taking over, he is not a fit for that role. Jim Toth would actually be a pretty good fit, I think... that would be the natural choice. Jay Richardson was fine but as others have said.... tough to see him coming back. Other choices could be Darrin Bauming or maybe the Freep's Jeff Hamilton if he is interested, as he has lots of print and radio experience. I don't get the Westwood hate. I didn't like him as a player for the Bombers but I think he's a great morning-show type guy. Definitely the best they have right now. He is entertaining. Leibl leaving to become a rabbi seems like a joke? Is that for real? Best of luck to him if it is true. Very interesting career transition.
  17. I know, that's kinda what I mean. It definitely wasn't *only* a blade. I just think maybe there was a small blade and then Lesnar bashed it a couple times to open it up.
  18. That just seems so unlikely to me, with all the issues surrounding concussions and head injuries, that you would order a wrestler to take a couple stiff elbows to the head unprotected. Blading first would make it so Lesnar didn't have to hit as hard.
  19. My initial thought was that Orton bladed and then Lesnar used his elbow to open up the gash. To me it looked like Lesnar was aiming for a specific spot with his elbow, hit once, it didn't work, so he struck again. I believe blading first would allow more control over the size of the cut rather than just ordering Lesnar to split Orton's head with his elbow alone. Does that make sense to you, TUP? Is that how it may have went down?
  20. James Franklin is probably the most coveted young QB in the league right now, there could be interest in him from both Montreal and Saskatchewan, and even Winnipeg if the season goes awry... or maybe Winnipeg will be interested regardless. I could see him getting moved in a deal similar to what Edmonton paid to get Mike Reilly.
  21. I'd be pretty shocked if McMuffin is a full time starter. He might get some reps but I don't see how they can have him out there on every snap. I can see him on kickoff returns and part-time on offence.
  22. I'd be surprised if it's not Hellebuyck but I was surprised when they sent him back down last year so I don't know...
  23. I wouldn't put it past Chris Jones to get rid of Durant this off-season.
  24. Saw a tweet that said Johnny Adams is in for Frederick
  25. Keep in mind we might lose Chungh this off-season. Our Canadian depth on the OL is still razor thin. I'd keep Neufeld around at least until after free agency and the draft so we know what we have to work with. Couture doesn't seem like he'll be ready to start next year and hopefully we don't have a top 3 draft pick...
