I have a hard time believing that. But another poor showing in the playoffs next year may result in them moving on from Quenneville. Chicago's core is still very strong - Kane, Toews, Keith, Seabrook, and Crawford are all in their prime. It's just a matter of surrounding them with the right pieces. The challenge is that the amount of money allocated to those five players means that almost everyone else on the roster has to be making a million or less.

I like the Oilers' style but I get this sneaking suspicion that we are entering an era where the Jets and Oilers start meeting in the playoffs all the time and it will be Scheifele vs McDavid and something just seems so familiar about that scenario and I don't like where it's going.

OK not soft just always injured and utilizes a soft moveset.

Maybe. There is also the consideration of people being invited but turning it down. However there aren't really that many good American goalie options out there that aren't in the playoffs right now. No American goalie in the league this year had more wins than Hellebuyck.

I'm not naive enough to think I can tell when someone is on steroids or not by looking at them. I can make an educated guess, and certainly with Jinder Mahal I would lean towards 'yes'. But on the other hand, with the right person on the right diet and workout program, I can't say his gains/results are impossible. I've seen people get pretty shredded naturally (or so they claim... who knows?). If he truly worked his ass off and did everything the right way, damn that's pretty cold to condemn him as a steroid abuser. Test the man... and if he passes, he passes. Either way, good on him taking life by the balls and bringing his wrestling career back from the dead. Taking steroids may show a lack of integrity, but there are lots of unemployed people with integrity to burn, and it ain't paying the bills. If he's clean, I give him double props.

I find it really interesting that Comrie is going. Did everyone else say no, or are they actually wanting to look at AHL guys in anticipation of the Olympics? I just see lots of names out there like Bernier, Mason, Reimer, Ward, etc.... not to mention guys who will be out of the playoffs shortly.

People will obviously make the connection between the Eichel rumours and this happening, but I'm not so sure it's the cause. Or at least, it is not the only cause. Buffalo has been a mess for awhile, from Murray on down. It's just unfortunate that they made this move right now as it definitely looks like Eichel demanded the coach be fired and ownership acquiesced. But at the end of the day, Buffalo will likely be better off for this.
