  1. Montreal has only taken an OL with their first pick once in the last four years.
  2. It's not in effect after 5:30 or on weekends. I agree that it's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
  3. Is that on Vermillion? There was a sign at the bus stop going the other way too.
  4. There are a few respectable goalies who could potentially hit the market this summer that would be good backups. If we can trade Pavelec I say do it and end the soap opera.
  5. I'm a member of the Church of the Fonz
  6. Back breaking goals are Pavelec's thing. He's usually good for at least one bad goal per game. Not usually that bad though...
  7. On first look I thought $250 was per game, and I still would have paid it...
  8. I'd take that bet.
  9. http://www.bluebombers.com/article/Blue-Bombers-Add-Running-Back Hopefully he stays this time... edit: Not sure if this is worth it's own thread, but nothing else is going on.
  10. Funny, I always thought that whether you are unionized or not, you still had to pass the same standards to be qualified as a journeyman. Ooops. Sorry. More logic. Have to pass the same standards yes. Union labour is not unqualified labour. If you are going to make an argument against unionized labour it would be that it generally costs more and is less productive. If you are forced to hire unionized workers then you can only hire out of union shops. That takes many very good companies out of play as options for subcontracting. It narrows down and limits options and effects cost control. That's just straight up logic for you. When cost control is effected, so too will the final product. I can't believe they're legally able to uphold that requirement. The NDP doesn't even pretend it's not beholden to unions.
  11. Seem to recall they both were on CHI when they won. So Ladd has 2? Yes, Ladd has won twice.
  12. Let's just pray it's not Toronto... I could live with anybody but Toronto or Philly. Hopefully he goes to a market that appreciates hockey.
  13. God, I hope this isn't the case. Talk about a momentum killer. Pavs is 5-9 in his career vs. Ottawa, with a 3.27 GAA and a .905 SV%. To be fair, he has numbers like that against most of the other teams too...
  14. Absolutely ridiculous how they managed to eff this up so badly.
  15. Crosby's never been a FA.
  16. Arguably the most embarrassing moment in CFL history was "Rider Nation" winning the Commisioner's Award in 2010.
  17. He's been our starter from the day the Jets came back until about 2 months ago. That's why people are "pretending" he was a starter.
  18. Pretty thought provoking stuff...
  19. I'm no Pavelec defender but that's not even slightly accurate.
  20. Bourque was probably included to balance cap issues for the Ducks.
  21. Not really any new thoughts in there. People have been saying this years. He and "anonymous" really wrap themselves in glory in the comments section...
  22. Giordano possibly out for the season. That's not going to help the Flames make the playoffs. I'd like to see them make it, but I don't think they will.
  23. Sure their equipment helps. Shooters also have composite sticks now compared to the logs they used to carry. Goalie equipment was out of control for awhile, but they've scaled it back a lot in the past few years.
  24. Watching old highlights of goalies falling backwards after slapshots from the top of the circle beat them are pretty funny. Shows how far goaltending has come. Most of today's goalies are big guys too. The days of guys like Darren Pang are over.
  25. The Clarkson trade seems like a good deal for both sides. Horton's contract wasn't insured so Columbus was on the hook for the full amount whether he ever plays again or not.
