  1. It really wasn't close though. We kept screwing ourselves in terms of field position with penalties on special teams, nevermind the special teams touchdown they got. We had 11 more first downs. We ran 16 more plays on offence. We had 208 more yards of offence than they did and we lost the turnover battle. If Hamilton did pull that game out it would have been because we gave them the game.
  2. For all the love guys like Drew Willy, JFG, Aaron Kelly, and Nic Grigsby (outside of his blocks) are getting for their efforts on the final drive, I think it's only appropriate to give some props to the guys who flew under the radar. - First play of the drive. Glenn January does a great job on Antonio Coleman as Willy moves to his left. If January doesn't have him fully engaged Willy steps right into a sack. Also props to Cordero Howard and Mathias Goossen. Simoni Lawrence came on a delayed blitz and was picked up perfectly by the duo as he otherwise would have had a direct path to Willy. - On the 15 yard scramble Grigsby gets just enough of Brandon Stewart to drive him wide of Willy. When Stewart is chipped off wide, Willy takes off. - Steve Morley does a hell of a job on second and four from the 42 and a half in Hamilton territory. The Cats send five and coming off the end on a blitz is Erik Harris. Morley sees this pre snap and as soon as the ball is called for by Willy, Morley high tails it all the way to the left and perfectly cuts down Harris. The play was good only for a two yard gain to Grigsby but it prevented a sack of seven yards. - On first and ten from the 29, Grigsby perfectly picks up Eric Norwood who Willy would not have seen coming as he was looking to the left side of the field. The play was incomplete but it's quite possible the play results in a sack and fumble given Willy would have had no idea Norwood was coming. It's a great drive to watch over again, especially in slow motion if you can to see how certain things develop. There were a few missed blocks on the drive that didn't come back to bite us thankfully. Ted Laurant was practically untouched when Willy found JFG down at the two.
  3. Even with low offencive production the BB been able to squeek out victories with very little comfort zone except against EE. Low offensive production? We lead the league in most points scored per game, even with the game against Edmonton. Could the offence get more efficient? Sure. But to say that the production is low is flat out wrong.
  4. Where do you see the draft order?
  5. I was hoping Calgary would pull off the win. It's great that we're 5-1 don't get me wrong, but only being four points out of last (I'm assuming Saskatchewan beats Ottawa tomorrow) makes me uneasy.
  6. That TD would have been great for the fantasy team...
  7. What the hell is this music? Seriously!
  8. If Demond Washington actually was able to hang onto the ball, and Bucknor didn't get beat on a simple deep route it wouldn't have been close.
  9. There's good ol Alex Brink. Nice to see ya pal.
  10. I'd say this has been awful, but it may be flattering to say that at this point.
  11. Reluctantly I'm taking Montreal. The Als are a mess but Ray's best options on offence are a rookie and a guy who until last week was out of football for a year and a half. I wouldn't mind seeing Toronto getting Slaton involved. He's looked a lot more dangerous than Steele running the ball. I would be very surprised if this turns out to be an entertaining game. As for B.C. and Calgary, I don't see it being particularly entertaining either. BLM is just getting by right now. Aside from the game at Rogers Centre in week two I believe it was he hasn't been overly impressive in my opinion. They miss Cornish and Price something fierce right now but their defence is keeping the show running for them in the win column. Charlston Hughes should have a big game and unless B.C. gets Harris going, this isn't a game Glenn is going to win by himself.
  12. What a novel concept. Amazing.
  13. I'm really liking Howard at RT. Seems very strong. It will be interesting to see him at the spot against an elite pass rusher though which he hasn't yet faced.
  14. Amen! Some people will ***** for the sake of bitching. The play worked. Bottom line. End of story.
  15. One of the things Watson brings is his ability to block. Nobody pushes him around. It's a very under appreciated part of his game.
  16. Wasn't he a free agent? I believe he is the only player that O'Shea probably recruited himself. He was signed as a free agent yes, but was with Toronto mostly as a special teamer previously. http://bluebombers.com/roster/show/id/4741
  17. Must have hurt his bicep after pounding his chest so hard after his interception last week. Gord Holder ‏@HolderGord 50m Redblacks have put DB Jovon Johnson (biceps) on six-game injured list. Reggie Jones to start in his place Saturday vs. Sask. #cfl #redblacks
  18. Hard to believe Toronto didn't want him - Would they ever like to have him now, especially considering their injuries.
  19. This. People forget that even though we are 5-1, this was not a very good football team last year for a number of reasons. Mistakes are a part of the game and we are still going to have a fair share of them.
  20. It seemed based on the replay that Kelly had a step on his defender running a post pattern over the top. Bottom line as has been pointed out is that it worked. We got our two points.
  21. I saw Goosen in there but I don't know when he went in or why ... missed TSN comment on that if there was one ... tell me more please Neufeld went down with an injury. Based on what was being said on Twitter it didn't appear to be serious.
  22. Careful now, that stuff is trademarked. In all seriousness, Goossen played very well I thought considering the circumstances. The only time Hamilton got pressure was when they were sending more than we could block, unlike us who were still at times able to get pressure when rushing three of four. Zach Anderson was a big reason why.
  23. I can't click the "like" button enough for this post.
  24. The other team gets paid to play too. Look no further than the game against Montreal.
