some interesting stuff from Our Man Tait, and I highly encourage you to give him a click: https://www.bluebombers.com/2024/01/12/1st-10-january-12/ Just a teaser for you that I think a few will have interesting: Had a great conversation with new Blue Bombers defensive coordinator Jordan Younger earlier this week. That story can be found here. Yours truly couldn’t cram everything from a 24-minute chat into that first piece, and one of the intriguing chunks not included was a discussion on how Younger puts his stamp on the Blue Bombers defence. That answer, it turns out, is both complicated and fascinating. “Let’s talk about blitzing, for example,” Younger said. “it’s not about whether there is more or less of that, it’s when you do it. Everybody’s doing similar things at the end of the day. You’re rushing four, you’re rushing five, you’re rushing six or rushing seven. Those are the options on the table. What makes each play caller unique is how well can you make coverages, systems and reads match up with what the offence is doing. We’ll try to be dynamic that way where we have tools built into the system so we can solve problems in real time and not necessarily have to wait until we review what was going on. That would be my goal.

sincere question....... You know how often guys come back from the NFL and they're just not the same as they were before? Maybe they changed their body type, or whatever, to fit in down there, and when they come back it doesn't translate and they're just never the same again........? Any chance that happens with Strev?

I'm certain that's a half-truth at best. I'm inclined to believe more in the "Wanted to burn a year of ELC last year, Flyers wouldn't do it, agent and family got pissy, refused to sign..." story than anything else.

I'm all for player safety but wildly against being like the NFL. Kick returns are one of the things that make the CFL more exciting than the NFL. -
there's definitely RBs at his quality available (especially Americans) that won't cost NEARLY as much.... our system is as important as his ability.

really curious about what the LB salaries are.... I was definitely unaware (if) Bighill is making "top 3" money at his position. Also Brian Cole is an upgrade at LB, with Kyrie Wilson sliding over to the middle, if needed. I have no problem with that scenario. And hopefully we have plenty more in camp this year to start getting ready for '25....

Nope - two years running. This was the hardest thing for me to adjust in my head this off-season. We were absolutely the best team in the league the past two seasons, but we didn't get it done in a "one-game-winner-take-all" scenario. It happens. Still no question in my mind we are the elite...class of the league. is he getting that?

I'm getting set to fire up Echo tonight after work and I'm a big fan of Son Of A Critch on CBC, which starts this week as well. Most of the streaming stuff I watch is prepping new seasons but a ways off yet...
