WBB DT Ryan Lucas retires today after a spate of injuries. 7 year CFL career.

If Pat Neufeld is healthy, he starts the season at either RG or RT....that guy is a damn good OL when healthy. The record of the team with him in the line-up vs out, was dramatically different, and you can make the case that he's a big part of that.

Gotta stop being so critical of Fitzy, in terms of offense. Stop thinking of things purely in terms of Offense and Defense. You need the ST demon guys, and Fitzy's a real good one. If nothing else, he's real quality depth.

Well, he was a character in Emperor's New Groove, and I'm not sure if that was an actual spin off, or if someone just did a JPG up for some reason. I did a Google Image search because I knew I'd heard the name before, but couldn't remember when or where....

Kessel and Phaneuf are both huge cancerous tumours on that organization. Both desperately need to be traded but you'd have to eat serious % of contract in order to do it.

Doug Brown seems to be pretty impossible to replace We could have drafted several since he left, but we didn't. What Canadian DL in the CFL is just as good as Doug Brown? I certainly don't know of any In defense to the WBB, we have drafted "New Doug Brown" but he's so good he's in the NFL...

Don't bad mouth Labbe because he was a solid loyal foot soldier. Loved that kid...

Walters basically committed to Picard as our starting centre this season at today's presser. Banks was our SAM too. All of this is how I feel. I tweeted this morning that the whole thing reminds me of Banks last year, and I got shouted down by a few people. I'll believe the Picard hype when I see it in the summer.

Special Teams is a very important position...

Wasn't he our RT......it is possible that I'm mistaken, but....I thought that was his natural position?

If Neufeld stays healthy, he starts at RT and, as evidenced last year, the team is so much the better for it. Offense was a LOT better with him in at RT. Big IF though, that he can stay healthy...

This. Import LBs, as with Import RBs, are a dime a dozen. That said, I'm a huge Ian Wild fan, and hope he ends up back here at some point...

Really really glad I didn't end up getting the old lady a Janvier jersey for Christmas (...one of her faves...)

Wild was easily my favourite player last year...really sucks to lose him, but wish him nothing but the best.

Jesus, that's brutal about losing Wild. Efffffff. But hopefully we can recruit some more solid imports this off season....

That's why I'm surprised Picard would want to be involved here. He knows contracts aren't guaranteed and we can cut him at any time. It's not some kind of trick we can pull on him. This is a team that offers less job security for him than some, unless he's been hiding his talents as a guard all these years. Sounds like he really wants to play for Wylie again...

the Twitters seem to think Picard automatically starts at C, Goossen to one guard spot, and then Morley/Greaves battle for the other guard spot, Neufeld at RT, and then you're just looking for that big LT...possibly American. Personally, I don't think Greaves loses that Guard spot, but who knows...

Madani says Wylie is a big fan of Picard....makes sense.

Keeping in mind, folks, yet again...columnist vs reporter. Broadbeck is a Con-Slant Columnist, whose sole purpose is to elicit reaction from people. Similar to what Charles Adler does. Just sayin'......
